//Behold: The Many Layers of Shin Tachibana:
I have a question. What's everyone's age are? Hope that wasn't a stupid question. Thank you
//No, it’s not stupid! I’m glad to answer ^^
From oldest to youngest:
Kyoji -42
Dento -22
Sumi, Kazumi, Toi, Josuke - 21
Shin, Tsukiko, Shigure, Airi, Ushio, Rin -20
Mimi, Karma, Junpei, Viviana -19
Detectives and killing games go hand in hand. I’m curious what direction Kazumi would be. And if he was what some people hoped Shuichi would have been but their hopes were dashed and be a actual corrupt detective.
//Yeah, Kazumi has had it rough himself, and he’s probably sympathize with Shuichi especially ^^;
//I wanted to do something different from the usual fare, where you have support characters like Kyoko who always manage to be on your side, or characters like Tsurugi and Ryohei, who are willing to go to any extreme for justice.
//I wanted to make someone who combines aspects of both and explores the concept of a detective in a different manner. For example, someone who tries hard to be unbiased in his views of everyone, but also objectively examines them as both allies and threats.
//But at the same time, he never feels like he does enough and that pushes him to work harder, which can lead to him not being as unbiased as he wishes he could be
I swear if one of Zadkiel‘s sprites isn’t him crying blood…
//...I feel like this is a reference I’m not getting ^^;
I feel like I’ve seen Sumi’s design before.
//Yeah, she based her look on Flappers from the 1920′s
You know, given that Danganronpa is a mature franchise already, I do wonder why the canon series has made one of its characters part of the sex industry. Probably the fact that they are supposed to be teenagers and the unfortunate implications it carries.
//Yeah, while the series has its fair share of fanservice, it’s understandable why they didn’t,
//Sumi is, of course, an adult, so her being a sex worker is an understandable career choice. She has no problem with her career, especially given how much of a high society girl she is : P
Why does Kazumi look so much like Casper from Three Houses?
//Perhaps because he was the design inspiration? : P
//And last but certainly not least, the overseer of the Absolution Program and mascot of our game, Zadkiel
//And our final resident of the Absolution Program and local detective, Kazumi Kazetsubaki
//Here we have the lovely Sumi Sonada ^^
//Hey everyone! Sorry I’ve been quiet for so long, but I’m pleased to announce I have the last three profiles complete!
Toi probably had his work cut out trying to stop corporations from stealing his ancestral land.
//Indeed he did, and he was very successful in doing so ^^
//It earned him a lot of notoriety, both in New Zealand and abroad
Ah yes the Phoenix Wright character. Did you know that Ace Attorney is a satire on how absurd the Japanese criminal court system is, and that Shu Takumi was a former defense attorney who managed a few wins himself, a miracle in society btw.
//Yep, I’d heard. Japan functions on the inquisitorial system, rather than trial by jury. If you can win in that court system, you’re ridiculously lucky ^^;
Karma’s dress code reminds me of the dress code of SOIS from Zero Escape where it’s members are encouraged to dress as ridiculously as possible to throw off the idea that they are members of a secret organisation.
//When you’re so obvious that nobody believes you’re a secret agent
And we have the last of the OG trio from AsktheDespairKids; Karma Graves! Interesting that they aren’t Japanese in this setting and a much more less traumatic backstory then ‘Getting locked in the basement by their POS father for much of their formative years and talk like a 90s kid because it was the only entertainment they would be allowed access to.’
//Well, Karma’s always been Canadian, but yeah, their backstory is a BIT less traumatic than what my friend came up with
//Still not exactly an ideal family life ^^;
Fan favorite is a understatement of the decade. Karma was STUPIDLY popular in AsktheDespairKids to the point they could flip the entire story on its head if they wanted to.
//Yep, Karma was definitely one of the top-tier favorites in DK ^^
//Still awesome to this day!
//And the second of our twofer, another fan favorite from back in the day! We have our local Secret Agent ^^
