Hank green released a video about his AI controversy, and honestly it strikes me as really weird still. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who usually watches him - Does it seem consistent with his normal videos? Does his behaviour seem out of the ordinary to you at all?

The way the description is written is still similar to his previous statement on AI, that worried me due to the potential signs of cognitive decline.

Either way, I think this policy sucks because it keeps unclear what LLMs WILL be used for. But it's obvious he still thinks they're a good tool for research, which is frankly disgusting to me.

and in fighting antiblackness within canada and europe it is so so so important to acknowledge these places's participation in and benefit from the transantlantic slave trade. Slavery is not just the US's dirty past, it is a triangular industry lasting centuries that white people in the united states, canada, and europe benefitted from and continue to benefit from to this day. Slavery was good for white canadians and white europeans. They liked it. they encouraged it. they had slaves, they profited from the slave trade, and they used products grown from US slave labour in every day life. The slavery of Black people would not have been possible on the sheer scale at which it happened if it were not for active, consistent participation from europe and canada.

So, the whole Paul McCartney scarring rabbit hole… I never noticed it until I read your posts and now I can’t unsee it. Are there any sources anywhere that have talked about this? I want to “do research” but you’re the only person I’ve seen bring it up!

I am still doing research on this myself, but it does seem to me that he has had some sort of "pouch" or prosthetic to help support his left cheek, possibly a kind of inflatable balloon, which is something that I have confirmed was available in the '50's in UK.

It would have been attached from the nasal cartilage to muscles and bone at the jaw. You can see it kind of moving about here.

I have pics somewhere in my file that show it pretty clearly, and also what looks like two instances where the prosthetic may have collapsed or failed and you can see that the cheek is gone.
