Guys i get it, modern art is supose to make you ask, "what is art"
But I don't care. I think that if you make a question it has a limit in how many times you can use it to prove something, like don't get me wrong. I think modern art is neat and interesting to a certain degree, but is it even like that, interesthing? I think that people who hate modern art have a right to be, and no, I'm not going to compare it with art of the past because it's unfair. I think people overblow what modern art is, i think modern art is an explorations of the limits of art and that's cool and all, but at certain point it just feel redundant. and people who are "making this exploration" and "breaking the standards of art"
maybe fail to notice that they already did it ?, because people who are the most involved with this subject already agree that everything could "could be art" so this "what are the limits art?''the question kinda just becomes useless, is that bad art? yes, everything "could be art" you just need to sound convincing enough (that sounds soulless ) if people say otherwise, just tell them that's the point, don't worry is a shield with no blind spots.
That's just a bed - yeah that's the point
This makes no sense as art - yeah that's the point
The bed makes me angry - yeah that's the point
Can I criticize this? - yeah that's the point
Are rich people using it to launder money? - yeah that's the point
Is this all for money? - (it depends i don't think all people that do modern art do it with bad intent that would be dishonest)
Can I ignore this? - no you have to listen to me about why you have to like it, and don't worry everything that you say is invalid, because that's the point
Also why are people so defensive about this type of art? yeah i get it is what you like and you have a right to defend it, if you just correct people about certain miss conceptions about it is fine, but this type of argument about modern art always feel wrong? like it feels like when you fight a kid with imagination and they start making up random rules, like i said before it all boils down to different variations of "yeah that's the point" and that's it...
it feels boring like i wouldn't hate modern art as much if the people would just actually say something different? like no i don't care that me being confused/angry about it, is the point, no i don't want to hear how not all art has to be pleasant or visually appealing I KNOW, i just like i feels frustrating because it doesn't matter how you approach it, somehow the art piece was 4 step ahead of you and somehow knew that you were going to do something, like it feel pretentious, maybe that's it, maybe i hate modern art because people are pretentious about it, like the art itself is ok yeah the questions that it generated in the first pieces were nice but we already move on from it, also it kinda feels like on this type of art the message overshadows the form, i think art should have a balance of message and form, yeah renaissance art has a lot of form but the message lack, and modern art has too much of a message with lack in form, and no do not make it about how this type of question is what modern art is all about and how that's the point, i don't care like is so boring and repetitive please just stopppp.
as a final point would me punching someone in the face, and them feeling pain could be classified as art? Yes, it can be classified as art because you feel something, even though we have feelings about everything? that's why everything "could be art" because it uses the basic human response of feeling stuff, that's why it feel so useless to discuss this topic because is like a weird game of "if you feel something it means is working" like no it doesn't i feel something from everything is a game you can't win, like yeah maybe i don't feel strong emotions all the time but that's still something, like being bored is still a emotion, like yeah punching somebody sure would be art because i obligated someone to feel something i just need to sound convincing enough.
