Elijah hummed under his breath as he walked towards the police station late at night. He knew that his brother had a late night shift - and he’d had a considerably early shift at the club - so they finished around the same time. Even though his work wasn’t anywhere near where Daniel worked, he still made his way over, wanting to surprise his twin. He’d changed back into normal jeans and an oversized hoodie, although the glitter on his face and lipstick stains were still there, since he thought it looked nice. Spotting Daniel’s car, Elijah glanced back and forth to check nobody was watching, before whistling to himself and wandering over to the bins, finding a old umbrella and casually taking one of the metal rods and going back to his brother’s car. With a cheeky smile, he casually unlocked the back door and climbed into the car, laying on his back on the seats with his hands behind his head as he waited for Daniel to finish up his shift.

to say that his night had been busy would have been a slight understatement. he felt like he was just constantly on the go and he couldn’t wait to get off and head back to his apartment and relax. maybe he loved relaxing a little too much, but he loved to relax. daniel changed out of his uniform and into a pair of jeans and a yellow button up shirt. he usually didn’t like to wear bright colors, but it had been the only clean thing in his closet. he walked out with a sigh, a small smile on his face as he breathed in the fresh air. it only took a few minutes to walk to his car. he didn’t know how to explain it, but he had a weird feeling as he was opening his car door. he glanced into the backseat and shook his head. so that’s what the feeling was, his twin had somehow gotten into his car. “ elijah. what are you doing here? ”

Laughing along with the other, Onyx bobbed his head in complete agreement with Daniel. “My mama has always had my full respect and admiration. Before all the babies, she was fire on the water, a real kickass kinda lady. She had a few twins too, myself and my brother included.” There was never a dull moment in Onyx’s household—or a quiet one, for that matter—but always an abundance of love. “The gym is good, though, I enjoy a decent workout. I usually drag my gym buddies along with me for the company and conversation. If I’m not there, you’ll find me in the water. I spend a crap ton of my time there too. It’s freedom, you know?”

“ we’re both twins? that’s cool. i think all women are really strong though. no matter what, i’ll never be that strong. ” daniel admitted with a small chuckle, shaking his head. “ so does everyone in your family surf or were there some that just weren’t into it as much? ” he questioned, turning to glance at the other. “ i have one work out buddy, but i used to like to work out alone. i used to like to do a lot of stuff alone. ”

Auggie nodded along to every question that was thrown his way. Trying to keep up. Trying to remember them so he could answer them all. “Of course..I can’t share everything but i’ll answer what I can,” Auggie was in a contract and working on a huge project so until it was fully announced he couldn’t mention somethings about his job. “My favorite anime movie? Is anything by Miyazaki he’s my hero actually,” Auggie explained but didn’t explain who that was. He always assumed people know how he was. “Yes there is different kind of animation..2d, 3d, cgi, cartoon…there’s others too plus style. Everyone has their own style when it comes to art,” The pink hair man was still nervous but he was starting to let his walls down. Talking about something he knew was helping him ease up a little. “Detective Pikachu was so good you have to watch it but it’s not the animation I do..that’s more CGI and I don’t work with CGI. It’s so cool though but I prefer to  make more traditional anime style shows,” A small laugh left his lips when the other mentioned space jams. “I’ve never seen space jams,” It was true so he wasn’t going to lie. “But i have seen who framed roger rabbit..same concept right?” He questioned trying to remember what space jams looked like from the small clips he had seen online. “Well I don’t think your an idiot,” His voice was softer at that comment then it had been during any of the other’s. Maybe because it made him nervous to say. “Black coffee? Isn’t that really bitter?” Auggie questioned as he pulled the cookie out to half with Daniel. “You sound like the best roommate..”

daniel’s arms crossed over his chest, listening to auggie speak and made a mental note to look up the guy that he had just mentioned. he hoped that he would actually be able to remember the name and it wouldn’t just fly out of his head within a few minutes. he could feel his curiosity growing as he listened to the other, the smile on his face growing. “ i’ll have to rent detective pikachu then to give it a chance and try to watch any of the other shows that you might recommend. something by that miyazaki guy. ” he was mentally crossing his fingers that he got the name right and hadn’t just butchered it. “ same concept, yeah. the real life mixed with animation and i thought that was so cool. especially when i was younger. i thought it was all real, like michael jordan was really hanging out with bugs bunny or that guy from who framed roger rabbit was really with roger rabbit. i was a silly kid, but it’s true. i wanted to go to the golf course and see if bugs bunny or daffy duck would pop out and i never got the chance. then when i was old enough, i realized how silly it was and i realized how it wasn’t actually all real and i got over it. ” he admitted with a small chuckle, glancing down at his feet. there was a part of him that felt slightly embarrassed admitting that, but it had just rolled off his tongue so easily. “ thank you for not thinking i’m an idiot. i don’t want you to think i’m an idiot. ” he was silent for a moment, but cleared his throat as he glanced around before focusing back on the pink haired male. “ it’s pretty bitter, but it’s needed sometimes when i’m on duty. especially when i have to work really late. it’s the best to wake me up. ” he took another sip from the coffee, smiling as he looked at auggie. “ i try to be. i give her shit sometimes and just annoy her, but i like to do nice things for her from time to time like bake for her. ”

She used to do it professionally.” Both of Onyx’s parents made quite a name for themselves in the field, and he was very much looking to follow in their impressive footsteps. “It’s not intrusive,” he assured Daniel, waving off his concern and sending a lopsided grin the others way. “People. In my life. I wanna spend my time with them more and more, and not so much in the water alone.”

“ i’d be worried if you weren’t in awe of her. i’ve always been in awe of my mom’s just cause they’re my mom’s. they didn’t have to deal with that many kids. just me and my twin. ” daniel chuckled, hand reaching up to brush his fingers through his hair. both of his moms were definitely his hero’s, having to deal with everything just because they were in love. he nodded his head at onyx’s words, completely understanding. “ i get that. i feel like i should spend more and mroe time with other people rather than at the the gym or just sitting in my living room to watch baking shows or at work. ”
