“That key,” he repeated, “is for –” he broke off with a sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation. “Okay, fine. Whatever you want, Nyx.” The older was correct - he couldn’t be mad at him, but it wasn’t because of the food and they both knew it. Jaeshin pouted a little, rummaging through the bag and putting things away in his pantry. Seeing the bandaged wrist, Jaeshin’s brows furrowed in concern, but he figured he could grill him about it later when Chacha was asleep. He glanced into the bag on the counter, rolling his eyes with a chuckle upon noticing the bottle. “…I guess it has been a while,” he agreed begrudgingly, before placing a hand on Onyx’s shoulder and guiding him to the living room. “Is this for Chacha?” He asked, peeking into the bag and seeing the Stitch plushie, “because if not, I appreciate the thought man, but I’m more of Pikachu man myself,” he joked.
“That stick wedged a little further than usual today?” he queried, a playful glint entering his eyes. “Whatever I want, huh? In that case, some chips and dip and a glass of that Jack, please.” Bouncing the child on his hip, Onyx’s smile was positively beatific as he met her little dancing eyes. Chacha was such an adorable kid, always vying for attention with those grabby hands of hers. But Nyx didn’t mind. He was beginning to doubt children were in his future, so playing uncle to his old friends' daughter would more than suffice. It helped that she was the sweetest kid alive. “I don’t know, Charmander is pretty damn cute as well,” he spoke over his shoulder, finding Jaeshin’s gaze with his own and sending a wink his way while strolling towards the living room. The others' house felt just as homely as his own, and Nyx could navigate his surroundings with his eyes firmly closed. “What were you doing anyway?”

𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓, he didn’t say anything. not because he was busying himself with taking care of nyx ( well, it wasn’t the sole reason ), but it was also due to the fact that it was a little hard to ignore the way his best friend stared at him, almost soul-searching at this point. he wondered if the man was feeling shy or even ashamed; they didn’t have a lot of boundaries, but they did exist, and now the lifeguard questioned whether they were crossing them right now. it would be one thing to quickly undress a friend and leave them to shower by themselves, but it wouldn’t have been enough for onyx — xavier needed to complete his task in the way of perfection and nothing less. he deserved the best anyway. however, it also meant that the situation they had just brought themselves into was a little intimate. far too intimate, actually, as xavier realized that he’d never do this for anyone else, not even his biggest idol in the world if he didn’t harbor some feelings for them. it was impossible to say no to a face like onyx’s and get away with it; those pleading puppy eyes have never failed to make him cave in at one point or another. so, here they were. too close yet too far & xavier was struggling to stay behind the line they had drawn — or maybe it was just him that had done it, for the sake of his own sanity. at least the worry that had seized him the moment he received that text was overpowering the rest: his needs, questions, and desires. it was quite exhausting to be in such state, always debating, being unsure and afraid, but every time he'd steal a glance at the other, he’d realize that it was very much worth it. in every life, every time he’d do the same. “ i plead the fifth, ” he answered regarding the question of annoyance, letting out a short laugh as the man discarded the shirt on the floor and nyx’s jeans followed. the choice of underwear was surely amusing, but not enough for him to get distracted from the fact that, well, xavier was going to have to get him out of those briefs himself. sure, being naked around each other or guys was quite typical and not too exciting, but undressing was on a level that was higher than he’d anticipated. he wasn’t sure if they were there yet, but then again, he was just helping out a friend in need, right? just that. nothing more. “ hold on, ” the man added as he quickly turned around to lean towards the bath, turning the water on after plugging the tub. when the tap started running, xavier returned to his friend and his hands climbed all the way up to onyx’s shoulders, making him face the bath and have his back turned to xavier. it was better this way. “ sorry, pikachu, you gotta go. ” a soft laugh emerged from his throat, thrumming with energy, and his hands traveled all the way down to the briefs, pulling them off rather quickly. just like a bandaid. “ the water should be good. be careful. ” he extended his hand in order to offer some support in nyx’s attempt to climb inside the tub. his legs seemed okay, he surely could do that part himself.
“Plead the fifth,” he muttered, echoing Xavier, admiration lilting his voice while Onyx spun on his heel, facing the tub, rapidly filling with water. It was like he was in a daze. Staring at the streams pouring from the faucets—he was entranced. The trickling seemed louder than usual. His best friends touch sending a shiver the length of his spine. Nyx's teeth chattered, heavy eyelids fluttering as goosebumps chased the other's fingers along his skin. Interesting. Xavier's hands weren't lingering, but somehow, it felt like they were. Everything seemed to run in slow motion, a little sluggish. It felt nice. He was smiling before even realising it. "You need to join me, though," he insisted, twisting his upper body around and grasping blindly for Xav's hand with his good one. Unsteady on his feet, Nyx didn't trust his own two legs to do a good enough job of holding him up and relied heavily on outside help. The only help he'd ever ask for; Xavier's. "I wanna wash your hair for you and your back. Maybe I can take a little nap and you can join me. It'll be all warm and cosy." At this point, Onyx didn't know what he was saying anymore, but sharing a tub with the other was high on his list of priorities. Tugging gently, he spun around to face Xavier, a lopsided grin quirking his lips while he pulled the other male towards him. His nakedness, completely forgotten. The fact that the other was still fully dressed, though, capturing his attention. "You can't get in the tub with all this stuff on, silly. Gotta get you undressed." His fingers slid from Xavier's and gave a half-hearted tug at the hem of his shirt, demanding with a pout that he removed the offending article. "You can sit between my thighs, like how we sit when we watch movies. Only this will be much more fun." Onyx would wake with regrets, but for now, he was perfectly content to say absolutely everything that entered his mind. He always knew his loquacious nature would come back to haunt him one day. "I like looking after you," he added, despite knowing it was admittedly the other way around right now. "If you're there, between my thighs, I know you're safe. And if I know you're safe, I can sleep for a while." The alcohol, combined with the drugs made his lips loose, and Nyx couldn't seem to shut himself up. He didn't even know if he wanted to. Speaking his mind felt great. Saying out loud, the words usually reserved for drunken text messages was so freeing.
idc-jxeshin:
Truthfully, Jaeshin had been enjoying a lazy evening with his daughter, napping on the couch while she sat in his lap and happily sang along to the kids show he had put on for her, and when Onyx entered his apartment calling out to them, he sleepily opened his eyes. Chacha’s face had already lit up, and the little girl had already wriggled off of the couch and was scuttling into the kitchen where her uncle was, eyes shining as she made grabby hands at him, obviously wanting him to lift her up and kiss her all over like she was used to. Jaeshin followed a little more slowly, yawning and rubbing at his eyes, tilting his head to the side and squinting at his hyung. “I told you that key is for emergencies,” he grumbled, although they both knew he could never really be mad at Onyx when he dropped in unexpectedly. He glanced at the bags, eyebrows furrowed. “What’s all this for?” He asked curiously, not minding as Chacha ignored him and instead cuddled up to her uncle with a euphoric gleam in her eyes.
“That key,” he began, tone light and airy while scooping Chacha up into his arms and cuddling her close to his chest, “is for me to enter your home. So I used it. You can’t be mad at me, I got food, and only like, 50% of its junk, I swear.” His sole focus remained on the little girl, and at this point, it was fairly evident that Jaeshin was rather accustomed to being ignored for at least the first few minutes of Onyx’s arrival. “How’s my little princess, huh?” he babbled at Chacha, settling her on a hip and peppering her cute chubby cheeks with kisses. Nyx stood from the spot, thrusting the bag in hand, towards Jae. The bandage surrounding his wrist hindered his movement. He only managed to carry the shopping because he’d dropped more pills than were prescribed, this afternoon. The pain was little more than a dull, incessant throbbing. "I figured I'd drop by and see you guys. It feels like it's been forever. Do I need a reason to come see you?" Levelling a playful glare on Jaeshin, Onyx nodded towards the bag on the worktop. "Look in there, I even got something, especially for you," he sang, indicating the bottle of Jack Daniels.

“I come,” Onyx paused on a grunt, nudging the door ajar with his shoulder and slinking into the kitchen, “bearing gifts!” The evidence of such, piled high in his arms and concealed by brown paper bags he’d pilfered at the grocery store. Nyx was pretty positive people were expected to pay for those, but he’d spotted some, just lying around unattended and taken them. No one would miss them, surely. They were just bags! “Chacha, come give uncle Nyx a hand. We gotta grow those muscles somehow!” Snickering to himself, he settled the bag stuffed to the brim with groceries and sweet goodies onto the nearest countertop then crouched, waiting for the appearance of the little girl. “Jae, I didn’t forget about you,” he called out, remembering the bottle of Jack Daniel’s hidden in the bottom of one bag, that he fully intended to help his friend drink. That would come later, once the kid was safely tucked up in bed. In the meantime, though, he had a Stitch plushie to bestow upon a certain little girl he hadn't seen for days.
sunnisms:
On any other day, Sunni would be fuming once she saw the familiar face. She’d be glaring daggers into his head and letting all the sharp words come trickling past her red painted lips. He had a lot of nerve calling out her name, trying to come over and talk to her after all the silence he laid between the two. Part of her wanted to ignore him and simply continue on with her day. It was the first day she’s been back since her little disappearing act, and dealing with someone from her past was the last thing she wanted to do right at the beginning of her day. Still, maybe this was the worlds way of giving her a chance to set things right, even if she wasn’t nessicarly in the wrong this time, which was a pretty big surprise on her part. Letting her arms cross over her chest, she turned her body to face his, not bothering to take off her sunglasses to make proper eye contact, but still making sure her facial features weren’t too harsh or cold. After all, could she really blame him for what he had done? There’s no doubt she would have done the same thing. “Well, if it isn’t the hunky Onyx in the flesh,” she teased with a small smile. “I’m surprised you actually remember my name, but I can understand that it’s hard to forget a girl like me.” Alright, maybe that last comment was a bit too sharp, but she could have been worse. “Can I help you with something? Directions? Restaurant suggestions? An apology?”
Some things never changed. Sunni was as forthright as ever, and Onyx really shouldn't have expected any less. She had always been remarkably candid, speaking her mind and calling him on his bullshit from day one. "I was thinking an apology," he replied, a smile to mirror her own, caressing Nyx's lips. His past actions were completely unwarranted—no matter how he tried to justify them at the time—but it seemed she had space in her heart for forgiveness. And he was eternally grateful. The apology was long overdue, and she didn't have to accept it. But Onyx had a feeling she would anyway. "I can do a grovelling one, where I make a complete ass out of myself in front of pretty much everyone here. Or an expensive one, where I shower you with gifts and alcohol until you've no choice but to forgive me. What do you say?" His lower lip protruded with a pout, trying his damndest to endear himself to the woman. While the wedge he'd driven between them was significant, Onyx didn't think their differences were insurmountable. Circumstances had long-since changed. Nyx was no longer a jealous kid, searching for an outlet. He'd moved beyond his crush and now yearned for the friendship they'd once shared. Sunni was one of the few friends he knew that remembered Jayde. She'd cared about his twin brother as well, and Onyx had thrown it all away because of rejection. It was so silly. Thankfully, he'd matured a lot since then, and given the chance, he'd prove as much to Sunni. "Should I pout harder?"
livingthe-lexi-life:
Lexi never felt well for the rest of the day if she didn’t have her morning run. Today, she admittedly had a later start from drinking late into the previous night. But better late than never. Headphones in her ears, she had slowed down from her run to change her music and wipe the sweat from her forehead. It was, as always, ridiculously hot in Palm Beach. Even in a sports bra and shorts, she felt like she would light up in flames any second. So caught up in the heat, she almost missed the voice carrying her name. Almost. Turning to look behind, her step faltered and then stopped entirely. “Onyx?” Hesitantly, Lexi yanked out her headphones out of her ears as if through some magical phenomenon, the music was making her imagine things. Nope. There he was. Wow. She hadn’t seen that handsome face since…that day. Had it really been that long since their last encounter? How she had dealt with the situation years ago wasn’t her proudest moment. As somebody who tended to run away from her problems, her first instinct seeing Onyx was to put her headphones back in and bolt for it. Taking a deep breath instead, she curiously asked, “Wow uh…hi. What - what are you doing here?” Her feet drew her closer to cover the distance between the two of them as her mind went into overdrive. Should she go in for the long time no see hug? Guilt over the situation held her back despite her arms raising as if she would step forward for the greeting. Momentarily, she paused as her resolve waved.
Abandoning the impromptu picnic, Onyx hurriedly clambered to his feet, nervously expecting the woman to continue on her journey, uninterrupted. But this was Lexi—she'd give anyone the time of day. Even people she probably didn't care to converse with, himself included. "Hey," he called out in greeting, a wavering smile playing on his lips as their eyes met. It had been years since they last saw one another, but the woman hadn't aged a day. She was still as radiant as ever. And from all accounts, quite the little actress now. He was strangely proud of her. Even if it had been forever since they last talked. In some weird way, he still considered her a close friend. Opening his arms wide and accepting the embrace, Onyx drew Lexi close, a little surprised by the hug. The last contact they'd shared, spelt the end of their friendship. A breathy chuckle escaped his lips as the surfer shrugged. "Having a picnic. But if you mean here, as in Florida, got a little apartment down by the beach. I'm working on my channel still and surfing my ass off every chance I get. What about you?" He asked, releasing Lexi from the circle of his arms and finding her gaze with his own. Things weren't quite as awkward as he'd expected them to be—at least for now, anyway—considering what had gone down between them. The last actual conversation they shared, was a drunken one, then darkness gave way to light, and with it, went Lexi. It was almost like she'd vanished in the night. One second, they were closer than close, the next, it was like she'd never existed. Everything was just so confusing for Onyx. But now she was back, and they had a second chance.

𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐁𝐔𝐁𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐈𝐍 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐓 — it was laughter, threatening to spill in reaction to onyx’s unusual albeit cute complaint about the medical staff’s warnings and requirements. his expression, however, remained still as he managed to contain himself ( except for that little smile that coated his lips because he couldn’t resist it due to his best friend’s naturally adorable nature ) and only offered a slight squeeze of his shoulder, one that was reassuring and signifying that as long as xavier was taking care of him, everything would be okay. he could tell the difference between sober nyx and this nyx, too aware of the increasing number of touches and contact and unable to ignore the ghosting of the other’s lips over the skin of his neck. unfortunately — or perhaps it was fortunate after all — there was simply no time to think much of it as the other man demanded good care and attention. normally, xavier would respond with the same kind of AFFECTION, but right now, all he wanted was to get onyx clean, fed, and tucked in so he wouldn’t have to deal with this kind of pain for longer than necessary. even thought the meds were going to kick in soon if they haven’t already, there was no need to put him through any more suffering. the shift in the mood was a tangled jumble, contradicting itself; there was onyx, touchy and needy, whereas xavier was more serious, too focused on having his best friend’s priorities met. no matter how much he wished he could tease or joke around, he found himself to be capable of just being concerned and incredibly soft for the other. “ if you ever annoyed me, we would have stopped being friends years ago, ” he managed to chip in with that at least, granting onyx a breathy laugh, but his brows furrowed once again when it was time to rid the man of a piece of clothing. there was tenderness in the way his fingers worked to grasp the hems of his friend’s shirt, never stopping even when the surfer offered to have a joint bath. “ nyx. ” he gave him a warning look before their eye contact was broken by the shirt building a wall in between them. xavier managed to get it off with no casualties, revealing their faces when the article of clothing was now bundled up in the lifeguard’s hand. he was right — he smelled like the ocean. “ tonight, i’m taking care of you. don’t test my patience. ” another warning, but it was playful this time. the man just despised the fact that it was a tendency of onyx’s to put others first. “ nice underwear, ” he snorted, unable to hold back a bit of a measure to lighten up their situation as xavier successfully unbuttoned nyx’s pants too, knowing it’d be a bit difficult for the other to do it with just one hand. now this was where it was going to get a bit risky.
Lackadaisical, Onyx blinked, admiring Xavier’s face, whose expression, although impassive was just as captivating as ever. Probably a little more so right now, since he was doing an admirable job of taking care of Nyx. His full concentration on the job at hand, moving slowly, determined to make the effort as painless as possible. That due care and attention coaxed a fond smile to his lips, and Onyx took a moment to drink the other man in. With inhibitions lowered, he stared a lot more openly, following those liquid brown eyes, focused on helping him disrobe. Sometimes, he'd catch a glimpse of sadness in those eyes, but before he could react, the melancholy seemed to have seeped away, replaced with the ever familiar exuberance. He wondered just where the other's mind went in those moments. What he was thinking and feeling, and why he wouldn't open up about it and share with Onyx. It was a little disconcerting—they were best friends. But everyone was entitled to their secrets. Hell, he had a real doozy of his own concealed away. One that would forever remain deeply buried, if he had any say. Falling in love was supposed to be the most magical experience in the world—and it was. At least until the pair met and Onyx quickly realised the relationship he'd built from their online conversations was a mere fabrication. They'd never been more than best friends, despite what he'd perceived to be flirtation between them. Onyx was always updating Xavier on his life, sending pictures—some of which weren't so innocent—and little trinkets he figured the other would appreciate. In his mind, they were dating. He didn't engage in relations with others, telling anyone who'd listen that he was taken, only to arrive in Florida to the devastating realisation that he was very much single. He'd gotten so discombobulated along the way, Nyx ended up breaking his own damn heart. And although his feelings for the man, hadn't changed—they'd only grown stronger—he'd long since accepted his place in Xavier's life. "I must annoy you sometimes, don't you lie to me now," he husked, tone laced with teasing. It just wasn't possible for Onyx to remain in someone's life for more than a few weeks without irritating them at some point. He was overly familiar with Xavier, tactile, hands wandering opportunistically. His possessive streak a mile wide, Nyx often fought for restraint, but his hold was tenuous at best. The behaviour had to drive Xavier insane at times. Attention snapping back at the reprimand, Onyx blushed, suitably chastised and peered down at today's choice of boxer briefs. "Oh shit," he laughed, the mirth-filled sound reverberating off the bathroom walls, so carefree. "It's laundry day," he offered, plucking at the waistband of his bright yellow Pikachu underwear. There was no further explanation given. No information on where he'd acquired such underwear, or why he would hold onto them in the first place, just a cocksure grin, directed right at Xavier alongside a well-timed cheeky wink as he continued, "well, what are you waiting for? Gotta catch em' all."

“ i’d be worried if you weren’t in awe of her. i’ve always been in awe of my mom’s just cause they’re my mom’s. they didn’t have to deal with that many kids. just me and my twin. ” daniel chuckled, hand reaching up to brush his fingers through his hair. both of his moms were definitely his hero’s, having to deal with everything just because they were in love. he nodded his head at onyx’s words, completely understanding. “ i get that. i feel like i should spend more and mroe time with other people rather than at the the gym or just sitting in my living room to watch baking shows or at work. ”
Laughing along with the other, Onyx bobbed his head in complete agreement with Daniel. “My mama has always had my full respect and admiration. Before all the babies, she was fire on the water, a real kickass kinda lady. She had a few twins too, myself and my brother included.” There was never a dull moment in Onyx’s household—or a quiet one, for that matter—but always an abundance of love. “The gym is good, though, I enjoy a decent workout. I usually drag my gym buddies along with me for the company and conversation. If I'm not there, you'll find me in the water. I spend a crap ton of my time there too. It’s freedom, you know?”
xcvierhq:
𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐋, something akin to whiskey that he recognized when onyx shifted his own weight onto xavier, leaving no room for distance. he held him up gently, supporting him, even if the man wasn’t drunk or high — yet. however, he was cognizant it was only a matter of time before nyx slipped into a state of less sobriety and becoming a slight mess. he didn’t see him that way, though; there was no way he’d ever consider the other a mess or burden. on the contrary, that protective side of him had peeked his head out, ready to roar & pretty much baby his best friend. if there was anything he could do to make him feel better, be it physically or mentally, xavier wasn’t going to refuse. onyx's anticipation for xavier to come rushing wasn’t wrong either, seeing how he’d stormed all the way here with no hesitation and didn’t even overthink the other’s plea to help him shower. his feelings and nervous jitters aside, the man had to sacrifice their own comfort and privacy for the sake of onyx’s health ( it wasn’t like they had anything to hide nor it was their first time ) and if he had to drag nyx all the way to the bathroom, so be it. “ of course, ” he stated, a bit unclear whether he was replying to onyx’s question or awareness that xavier was going to come. the answer applied to both anyway. “ i’m glad you texted me. ” though the worry in his expression hadn’t dissipated just yet, there was also a hint of softness that had broken through. it couldn’t be helped. “ alright, come on, let’s have a shower. though it’d probably be best to have a bath, that way you can just throw your injured arm over the side. ” the lifeguard offered a comforting smile before his feet finally shuffled, bringing them over to the bathroom — he didn’t need to ask for directions when he had been to his place countless times. at this point, he could easily walk through the entire house BLINDFOLDED. when the bright light of the bathroom, contrasting to the one in the living room, was cast upon them, xavier turned to face his best friend, helping him lean against the sink just in case. “ let’s get that shirt off. ” it wasn’t the exact circumstance under which he’d dreamed of saying that, but he did have to help him get a way around the bandage without accidentally messing it up. “ i’ll pull it off, you just stay still with your arms halfway up. be careful. ”
“The nurse stuck me with something, told me not to operate heavy machinery over the next few days. Heavy machinery? I can barely even operate my legs right now.” The complaint was barely a breath, right there against Xavier’s pulse point whilst it thrummed away beneath his lips. He’d kissed that spot, numerous times in his life, but the temptation never seemed to wane. How was it possible to feel so strongly for someone, yet be so deathly afraid of the outcome, should one reveal as much? Losing the man in his arms was unbearable, Onyx wouldn’t survive it. He’d lost far too much in such a short time, but this loss would be insurmountable. The drugs, combined with the booze he’d downed earlier were doing strange things to his thought process, making Nyx want to cling on just that much harder to Xavier, afraid he'd slip away. Then the lifeguard was moving, withdrawing slowly and leading him towards the bathroom. He stumbled along at his side, internally berating his life choices. Why did he have to mention cleaning up? If he’d kept his big mouth shut, they’d still be standing in the living room, embracing. He pined for the loss already. “If I say or do anything weird later, lemme just apologise in advance, because I’m gonna annoy the shit outta you, I can feel it. And by weird, I mean weirder than usual, just to clarify while I still can clarify.” Everything was already growing a little hazy, shining just a touch too bright around the edges, including Xavier. The man was ethereal, a real vision, and God if Onyx's heart didn't ache just a touch each time he looked at him. Knowing he'd never have him, was heartbreaking. But they were best friends, and Nyx could content himself with that. He'd convinced himself as much, at least. There was no other option. Leaning against the sink, he did as instructed, raising both arms midway and meeting Xavier's eyes. A ghost of a shy smile caressed his lips. No matter how many times they'd been naked in front of each other—or the circumstance for each occasion—the initial strip never failed to rouse some embarrassment. "I'll take a bath," he agreed, extending an index finger and prodding Xavier's bellybutton playfully. "You can join me if you want. I'll be your backrest. Wash your hair one-handed too, if you'd like?"

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐅𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘, xavier was at home, lounging around on his couch playing FIFA when onyx messaged him. the moment his brain deciphered the meaning behind the text, he was out the door like THE FLASH. it sounded serious, having a broken wrist, and knowing onyx & his hard preparations for the olympics, he was almost certain that the man wasn’t too happy about the timing of it either. the least xavier could do was provide the three Cs: company, care, and comfort. his best friend’s residence wasn’t too far from his place as they both lived close to the beach, and therefore, he was there in no time. the door was already open — thank god for that because he did not want to search his pockets for a key as it would have taken far too long — and as soon as he stepped inside, he announced his presence with an inquiry of onyx’s name. fortunately, there was no game of hide and seek since xavier’s gaze had found the other man rather quickly, prompting him to near close to him with an evidently worried expression. it was quite rare to see nyx in a state like this — in agony & so full of frustration. “ woah, i got it, ” he immediately said, softly, as the lifeguard made a run for the kitchen to get a glass of water for that pill. the rattling bottle soon appeared in his hand and it took him almost no effort to pop it open, spilling the content into his palm. xavier held one up in between his thumb and index finger as he returned the remaining ones back to the bottle, screwing it shut tightly using his other fingers. then, his attention shifted to onyx as his worry started to grow with each second. “ here you go. ” his hand was now in the air, brushing against onyx’s lips to demand an entrance, while the other was holding the glass he’d picked up from the floor seconds ago. “ i got you. ”
He visibly sagged with relief when Xavier announced his presence, the pill bottle shakily falling to his side and slapping against his thigh. “Oh thank God,” he whispered, a cold sweat breaking out along his ocean sprayed skin. It was sheer torture, standing there, struggling with the bottle for so long, but now Xavier was there, and everything would be okay. Things always had a way of working themselves out whenever his best friend arrived. He was that little ray of sunshine everyone needed in their lives. "I can't believe this happened to me," he murmured, lips parting and accepting the pill then water. He'd consumed a little bit of alcohol at the beach shack—three or four shots to be exact—and they were slowly beginning to take effect. Hopefully, the pills would kick in soon too, knocking him out for the next ten years, and he wouldn't have to suffer quite so much. Life was hard. Exhaling a pitiful whine, he draped an arm around Xavier's neck once he was close enough and drew his body flush. The embrace offered warmth and support, helping him stand on shaky legs with his face buried in against the side of his best friends neck. Inhaling the comforting scent of the other male, eased the tension lining his muscles a little further. God, he could stay there forever, just like that. "Help me shower?" he pleaded softly, lips brushing the column of Xavier's throat, lashes fluttering against his skin. If this were anyone else, Onyx wouldn't be asking such a thing, but he trusted the lifeguard implicitly. They'd also seen each other naked countless times, so he knew it wouldn't be a big deal for Xav. "I can't get this thing wet, and I smell like the ocean. Need to get clean. You're the only person I thought to contact. I knew you'd come. You always come for me."
𝐎𝐍𝐘𝐗:
Snorting a laugh, Onyx rolled his eyes, sinking pearly whites into the others shoulder blade with the tease. Xavier was joking, but most likely one hundred per cent correct with the assumption. Almost every single follower Nyx had, adored Xav, and would gladly support his channel. If they happened to leave the surfer in the dust in the process, he’d find a new way to make bank. More competitions were always an option, but they required a lot of travel, and he wasn’t ready to start that again. Not quite yet, anyway. Leaving Xavier behind just wasn’t an option. Besides, he had the Olympics to train for, that was his main focus for now. “I’m sure I’ll cope if all my little fangirls fawn over you. It’s already happening!” The exclamation accompanied a sharp bark of laughter, that quickly evolved into a groan when the first drops of rain splashed against his skin. A downpour would sure be soon to follow. “I’m so glad we didn’t camp out here tonight, like fuck that shit,” he grumbled, climbing to feet after Xavier and brushing sand from the seat of both their pants. “And I ain’t about to break your back, get on mine. I’ll carry you like the precious cargo you are.” A sing-song lilt entered his tone, as a saccharine smile graced plush lips, gaze lingering just a little longer than necessary before Onyx turned, presenting his back for the other male. Crouching in a bid to make the ascent a little easier on Xavier, he curled both arms behind his body, beckoning his best friend closer. “Come on, before the sky opens up and we get drenched. Then you make my job ten times harder because I have to get you all dry too. You’re hard work, boo,” he teased, a smirk in his voice as Nyx peered over his shoulder at Xavier.
𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 that they weren’t able to stay longer or even spend the night cooped up together at the top of the dunes, where it would have been a bit warmer than the rest of the beach without any chilly breeze coming that way. however, with the upcoming rain and possible thunderstorms, it was best to stay safe and seek the comfort of their own homes — or just one of them, seeing how they were definitely going to spend the rest of the night together anyway. xavier imitated onyx’s rolling eyes from earlier when the other declined his offer just to suggest the same in return, except with roles switched up, and he couldn’t help but swat at the other’s back, with his laugh booming through the air. “ idiot, i wanted to carry you. ” however, he didn’t proceed to protest any further. the man only collected their shoes and now empty beer cans ( no littering the beach! ), holding them in both hands before xavier took a little swing of the footwear at onyx’s bottom, laughing as he finally crawled on. the fire was slowly dying out & with the inevitable downpour coming, there was no need to put it out, which could only mean that all xavier needed to do was settle in comfortably on top of his best friend’s back. he soon wrapped his arms around the other’s neck, making sure to leave some space in between them so he wouldn’t accidentally choke his friend, and leaned in closely, practically giggling into his ear and holding up the arm with their shoes up high as he declared: “ off to the bus station we go! ”
