Review. Tapscott wrote this book as a follow up to his other book Growing Up Digital. You can read this book without having read Growing Up Digital but it is still worth reading both. The book dives into how media changes and how it is changing people. The book explains alot of good points but it falls short with any of the stats that they show. The graphs are confusing and it does kind of lose its focus towards the end of the book.
Examples.
Collaboration- Most companies are now talking to each other more internally due to the increased capabilities of what new media has done for us.
Speed- The increase in speed is part of what the internet and other technologies were made for and that is what they do.
Innovation- All of these things like speed and collaboration and many others all lead to new innovations.
Convergence- Everything is colliding together and new media is combining with old media.
Analytics- Tracking everything for marketers to allow them to track what is going on better to target the audience better.
Metrics- How we measure usage a site has.
Digital Age- The era we are in now where almost every aspect of our life.
School 2.0- Tech integration into the classroom to help students do better in the digital age.
Scrutiny- With the internet and information so readily accessible we are way more uptight on what we think is true.
Networks- Social networks are huge now but there are tons of networks out there.
Prosumeres- Producers/consumers people that both create and consume content
Internet Addiction- The drug like addiction we have to the internet.
Fan Fiction- Fan made spin offs of a popular story.
Entertainment- What most of the internet is used for even though it could be used for so much better.
Work- New media has changed the game for the work world and it continues to do just that.

Section 3
Review. The site is trying to get people into it by offering money to users and it looks alot like twitter in its layout. The sections are not really directed towards me which doesn’t really appeal to me.
Someone elses review. http://ajwalton.com/the-ultimate-bubblews-review-the-good-bad-ugly/
This review is focusing on the fact that is an expanded version of twitter that has aspects of other social networks with it. But they are allowing the user to earn money off of their posts. however with all the scams out there peoples trust in these type of sites go down.
Section 4
Faith should be one of the main foundations of our life and it should be reflected in how we use the new media that is in our life. Social media gives us the chance to have a voice that reaches people around the world quicker and more widespread than ever before however we use to for some of the worst things. If we use faith as a pillar of our approach to social media we can do better with it.
Culture is always changing with the times and we are on a road to a different culture whether it is good or bad is dependent on us. New media only allows us to change the culture in new ways. We need to be conscious about this and not let it go by unchecked and out of control.
Economics is one of the major things driving new media. Money and greed cause many pursuits into the media field but those who approach it with just the want to be greedy don’t last long. But they do affect the way that it changes. Take bubblews for example trying to get people to use their site to make money. But money helps things move along and change to the new media.
Presence of the new media in the world is huge and we don’t really realize how much it is in our lives till it goes and when it is we go through a true form of withdraws. This is just a sign of our dependence on new media and if it doesn’t change to even newer media we get bored or frustrated with the media and want it to change.
