The difference between a beta reader and a proofreader (and why it matters for your book)
Quick thing I think gets confused a lot on writeblr.
A beta reader tells you if the story works. a proofreader tells you if the sentences work.
I'm the second one. I'm not here to tell you your plot twist doesn't land or your MC needs more motivation. I'm here for the typos, the awkward phrasing, the sentence that made sense in your head but reads clunky on the page. The stuff you've stared at so long you genuinely can't see it anymore.
I work with fiction writers, fanfic authors, and self-publishing writers, anyone who wants their actual words to be as strong as their story already is.
First chapter's free. Just send it over, no pressure either way.
Curious, has anyone here ever gotten feedback that was more "this scene is boring" when what you actually needed was "this sentence is confusing"? drop your experience below 👇
