Writing is hard. how am i not supposed to go on a 15 page rant about the origins of this made up dish that i randomly created and its importance in the culture, and history of the people of my imaginary land that will never be mentioned.

I can't be the only one who has opened a manuscript to "do a quick edit" and somehow ended up changing three chapters instead.

How does a quick edit turn into a full rewrite every time?

"I think it's good" and "readers think it's good" are two different things

You can be confident in your book and still be wrong about which parts work. not because you're a bad writer because you're the only person who's never read it as a stranger.
