At least they get to choose the job instead of being forced to work in a factory under threat of death
You think people get to choose their jobs under capitalism? Lmaoooo. Tell that to the people making minimum wage at Wal-Mart so they don't starve to death.
They choose to work that minimum wage job instead of working in a field that pays more.
Are you really so stupid as to think people willingly choose to work making minimum wage in retail instead of higher paying job? I know people with goddamn Master's degrees making minimum wage because that's the only job they can find.
And even besides that, if they could simply choose a higher paying job, what are you gonna do when there's no one left in the store to check out your copy of "I Am Very Smart" magazine?
Oh fuck itâs been that easy the whole time???? Iâm choosing to be the CEO of Amazon sorry Jeff get the fuck out of my new office

This looks like something youâd see in a clip advertising a post-apoc survival shooter
August 24 2020 - Protesters burned the Kenosha department of corrections building to the ground, after police officer Rusten Sheskey attempted to murder Jacob Blake, an unarmed Black father who tried to intervene in a fight and was walking back to his car, by shooting him seven times in the back in front of his children.
Yo, I lived in Santiago de Cuba for 4 months. I had a Cuban ID card and everything.
Let me tell you a bit about life in Cuba:
Their cars are still running for the most part. They now also have some newer cars manufactured from China.
Kids in rural areas get a great education. By rural areas, I mean âmiddle of nowhere, dirt roads only horses can get through (no cars)â. They even got cute school uniforms and everything.
Rural areas have food, running water, and electricity. If youâre from any other Third World country, you know how insanely amazing that is.
A friend of mine has a 3-year-old daughter who has a heart valve defect. If he lived outside of Cuba, sheâd likely be dead, because he could in no way afford the expensive medical care. Instead, she has free access to some of the best doctors in the world, and the government even pays for her trips to the opposite side of the island to see specialists.
I was asked by the maid who cleaned the house I stayed at why I wore glasses instead of just getting laser eye surgery. I had to explain to her that I couldnât afford it. âSo why donât you just apply for the government to pay?â
Everyone is guaranteed a minimum food allowance every month.
Everyone is guaranteed free education, including university.
Iâve met a sugarcane plantation worker who could afford to buy a plane ride. Why was he going on a plane ride? To go to his daughterâs graduation from medical school. In contrast, when I was little I was at a party where a little girl saw a plane fly overhead and said: âOne day Iâm gonna go in one of thoseâ and all the adults burst out laughing because there was no way anyone in her family could ever afford such a thing.
Cuba used to have a less than 40% literacy rate. Within literally 2 years of the revolution, they had a 90% literacy rate. Thatâs because the government sent out student teachers with schoolbooks and lanterns way out to the boonies to teach people how to read and write. I met one of the women who did this.
University students in Cuba couldnât comprehend that when we said that other countries let their citizens starve and die of curable illnesses we meant that literally. âLike, they canât die, they have their food allowance!â âNo, thereâs no food allowance.â âBut what happens if you canât afford food?â âYou die.â ââŠButâ But taking care of people is the governmentâs job. They canât just let their citizens die.â âBut they do.â âBUT ITâS THE GOVERNMENT.â âI KNOW.â
Is Cuba perfect? Of course not. But itâs sure a lot better than a lot of places. It sure is a lot better than the US.
Donât go ragging on Cuba without knowing what youâre talking about.
oh my goodness will you look at the time
