Robin cursing as he rushes to the scene of the crime where a young man talked down to Gotham PD. Demanding they find his stolen date before the mood get's killed.
Robin has no time to focus on the mans stupidity. He has an arch nemesis it o find because as much as he initially assumed the worst, he knows Quinn has changed for the better. This was the one time he was secretly relieved to be proven wrong, and the one time he doesn't want to be right.
What made that guy so important she had to force an audience? What was so secretive she couldn't turn to either the Sirens or the Bats?
Damian plans on getting to the bottom of it.
👻 👻 👻 👻 👻
Danny blinked wondering if he heard right, but yup. He heard some nepo baby talking on his phone about how he keeps forgetting to feed his puppy.
In his stupor the guy winked at him.
Danny smiled back at the guy. The kind of smile that would make even Sam take 3 steps back. Danny will have fun, but it would be at someone else's expense. Not that the guy knew about his smile.
He turned back towards the energy drinks, picking one up to read the label and setting it back. He repeats this two more times before someone coughs behind him.
The asshole is there. His shoulders hunch down as he scratches his cheek. Conveniently available to help Danny pick a drink like some 'nice guy'.
And just like a 'nice guy' he drools at Danny's obliviousness. His eyes turn downright predatory when Danny asks for a hotel recommendation. Danny blushes when the guy offers his penthouse but insists he would only feel comfortable visiting after a nice date.
They talk for a few more minutes before Danny leaves.
He may be new in town but he also has family.
Aunt Pammie who his mom hand't heard from a long time but was relieved to come into contact once more. Her wife scared him a bit with her sorta circus aesthetic, but they were both held hostages and brainwashed by clowns so it's just the left over trauma.
She becomes his fave when she offers to help with his plan. Make the guy take him out on a date, get 'kidnapped' by Harley, and then break into the guys apartment to steal his puppy.
Nothing could wrong until he comes face to face with a bat.
They must make for an interesting sight, him hand feeding the puppy bundled in his jacket while Harley rubs chili powder in the guys hanging clothes.
"Baby Bat! Oh uh, this isn't my room. I must have sleep walked." She hides the chili powder but the jig is up.
Robin crosses his arms as he glares at them from under his mask. The intense stare Danny feels can only be a glare. He can breath again when the mask turns to Harley.
"This is the one instance I would love to be proven wrong." He stays silent as he watches them. The katana on his hand is pointed down but could easily be pointed at them in any moment.
Danny moves to stand in front of her. He doesn't think he'll need to use his powers but he reaches behind to hold her hand. Just in case. His heart almost breaks when the puppy begins to while at the loss of food.
"I am sorry Mr. Robin sir. I asked my aunt to help me rescue this puppy."
Robin looks him over from head to toe.
He blushes knowing his current outfit reveals more than he usually does, but he need the guy to ogle him because his face would show what he really feels. It was only the thought of helping that puppy that made Danny cover up his anger when the wine came out on their 'date'.
"I heard the owner of this apartment boast about maybe feeding his puppy if he doesn't forget again since he locked 'it' in the guest bathroom to sleep. I couldn't let this sweet girl suffer so I asked my aunt to help me out but we were mad and shouldn't prank him so I am very sorry and won't do anymore than what we;ve alreadydonesopleaseletmyauntgohome!" He doesn't realize he closed his eyes until Harley starts laughing.
"Baby bat meet Danny, Danny meet Baby bat." She keeps hold of his hand as she waves with her other. "He's a good kid and he already has a puppy so maybe we should all split and catch up after the new baby has a chance to recover and take a bubble bath."
It's not a suggestion, but Robin just tsks as he sheathe ships katana.
"Fine, I assume you left no prints." He opens the door waiting for them to follow.
Harley scoffs. "What do you take me fore an armature? Of course we left no prints. Just rehomed some bathroom stuff to the kitchen and moved furniture a few inches."
They follow along as he inspects the kitchen. Robin sees what they saw. Alcohol and expired food. The scowl on his face makes him want to apologize before remembering this isn't his fridge.
Danny continues feeding the puppy as he watches the two work in tandem. "Should I help with anything?"
Robin's head snaps up. "No, we just finished."
He nods as he watches Robin unlock the front door.
His heart flutters at the almost blood thirsty grin on Robin's face as he leaves the door slightly open. He downright swoons when Robin carries him down the fire escape. Sure it was more the puppies sake than his, but he didn't say anything about the smell.
The odd trio walks a few blocks before going their separate ways.
Harley teases, "You two are so cute."
The blush he held back has breached containment. he can feel even his ears heat up as he tries to deny his attraction to the local hero.
"Let me see what he gave you and I'll even convince your auntie to let you date him. C'mon Danny boy, you need to give me something so I can prep Red for the new in laws."
He talks quietly because of the puppy in his arms. Poor girl finally slept with a full belly and some warmth. "There is nothing to be cute about. It's just a business card to a local 24 hour vet."
"Awww, is Danny boy disappointed?" She throws an arm around his elbow. Too short to comfortably reach his shoulder.
"Not really. Heroes connected to civilians always get in trouble so no thanks." Had he not been a teen hero, Danny would have said yes. Instead his experience has given him understanding.
He can see his answer disappoints his aunt.
"You're killing me smalls. Not even a kiss to thank your hero for carrying you down all those floors?"
"We can get him a fruit basket when he check in. Him being your parole officer and all." The tables are now turned. He can't enter the vets office look like a tomato.
She whisper shouts at him. "Hey! It was for a good cause and even he knew it."
They continue bickering as they walk towards the vets office. The good mood disappears as they find his aunt waiting for them in her pajamas.
"I am so happy to see you two bonding, but why did I have to hear about it from a little Birdy instead of you?" The plants rattle as she taps her foot. "Well?"
Harley was unable to talk them out of being grounded but she was allowing the puppy to stay as long as the hyenas got along. She was not allowing private meetings between him and the sprout.
Danny felt there was nothing to worry about until the sprout in question came to visit. In his civies with a pastry box in one hand and s gift basket full of toys and treats in the other.
He pointedly avoids looking at his aunts while exchanging numbers with Damian.
This whole trip was unexpected but he was happy to find more family, rescue a new friend he couldn't wait to introduce to Cujo, and maybe get a boyfriend out of it.
Now that I am awake I am seeing 1,300 wasn't enough and have begin to write it out. It's gonna be in progress for a while but here is how the fic version will start
Danny’s crops are flourishing, his skin is clear, and the GIW are gone. So why then does he sense danger?
He looks up and sees nothing. His sides reveal nobody else in the park. Just Sam and Tucker racing towards him. Oh, they are the danger.
He braces as Tucker throws himself at Danny. “Remember your words Sam! You tell us all the time!”
Sam stops abruptly, catching her breath as she begins looking for the words she wants to use. This does not bode well for Danny. It’s all but confirmed when Sam pulls out her ghost punching gloves.
“I am going to ask and you are going to be completely honest with me ok.” She calmly delivers with a zen that would make any monk jealous.
He meekly nods while tightening his grip on Tucker.
“What does the name Pamela Isely mean to you?” It must mean a lot since she is eerily still.
“Is it supposed to mean anything?” It’s so familiar he feels like it should.
Tucker sighs in relief. “Safe, I told you Sam. Danny wouldn’t keep you from your hero if he knew.”
Danny gently sets him down as he looks at Sam. “What hero?”
Any fight Sam had leaves her as she begins explaining some of the evidence they’ve been going through. Pamela Isely wrote a rebuttal to Madison Isely and Jack Fenton’s stance on ectoentities. Where his parents claimed them instinct driven with no higher thought processes, his aunt because that is who Pamela Isely is, found them to be sentient and deserving of rights.
Tucker dug deeper and found more scientific journals and rebuttals, but by that point Vlad got involved and censored Pamela Isely making his parents the leading experts in the very small field. She would leave the field and become the woman Sam adores, Poison Ivy.
He is related to Poison Ivy. Sense and Sensibility, his aunt is really cool!
I head canon that the more liminal people become the more they notice Phantom and Danny are the same person. Ecto works as a natural camouflage for Danny (only his colors and outfit change so why hasn't anyone aside from Wes connected the dots ya know) so only his friends who where there at the time of his accident and Jazz are in the know at first. His parents are in protective gear 24/7 despite their terrible lab habits, so they don't see it.
The rest of the town gradually begins to see it and slowly change how they treat Danny and "Phantom". Nobody says anything, they just change how they behave. Slowly phasing out the bullying, extending due dates on assignments, redo's on tests, discounts when he finds out or extra appetizers on the house.
He is the towns secret hero so they will try to protect him since they already failed him once by letting him die. How else would he be able to turn into a ghost hero if not because he died at least once. He dies every time he does hero business and gets shot at by his parents so the town adults have become very protective.
When the Justice league shows up they give them the runaround because Phantom hid as soon as he registered who the visitors were. They leave after giving some autographs (the towns folks collected them for Danny/Phantom from the alien heroes because they know how much he likes space) but then the Bats come into town and the town is surprised when the Bats immediately identify Phantom as Danny. The natural ecto camouflage doesn't work on them since all of their deaths and/or contact with the pits made them liminal.
"We don't want to fight heroes-"
Batman correcting them mid speech. "Vigilantes."
"-but we will if you want to hurt Phantom." Adults armed with anything and everything from novels to pitchforks.
"This is all a misunderstanding, we came here to check in on him and offer a fellowship for young heroes." Red Robin who has a crush on Phantom for his determination and on Danny for his engineering and would definitely like to see more of him.
Dani brandishing a spear Pandora gave her just for these occasions "The red one wants to marry Phantom! get em!"
Danny blushing because he accidentally saw the face under the mask and Red Robin is very handsome. He would also like to get to hang out with other heroes is what he says when he intercepts the Dani incited mob trying to scare off the Bats
Alfred died and became a ghost years ago. He politely asks Danny to not tell the Bat Family.
"You're a ghost," Danny said aloud.
Alfred paused and looked at him for a moment before giving a polite bow. "Greetings, Your Majesty. I apologize for my discourtesy, I had not realized that Master Bruce had brought royalty here."
Danny glanced backwards, where he could hear the sounds of chatter and laughter from where the Justice League and Bruce's family had mingled together. It had been a simple meeting but had somehow grown into a house party with more and more guests arriving.
"It's no problem," Danny said. "Me being royalty is no big deal. Besides, I'm sure you didn't react differently to Diana or Arthur, did you?"
Alfred didn't respond, just watching him.
Danny hid his desire to squirm underneath his sharp gaze before he asked, "How come you're here? There are laws that prevent ghosts from being allowed back into the mortal realm."
"I died when Pariah Dark was still in charge," Alfred said, "and he did not have the capacity to watch over his subjects until he was defeated."
Danny hummed.
Neither of them said anything again. Even though Danny felt nervous from the stare, he did his best not to respond until Alfred finally broke and said, "Please allow me to stay."
Danny blinked. "Why?"
Alfred sighed softly and looked behind him at the door, where the guests kept coming and there was the distinct sound of Bruce scolding Hal again. "I wish to stay a little longer with them."
'Them' needed no further explanation.
Danny relaxed and nodded. "Granted. As long as you don't commit any evil doings like killing mortals, then you're allowed to stay until you choose to move on. Will that suffice?"
A smile appeared on Alfred's face, softening those hard wrinkles.
"Yes, that will be perfect, Your Majesty. Thank you."
Danny grinned. "No problem! Please, call me Danny!"
My lest favorite thing in dp fanfiction is when people forget some of Danny's quirks
These are just the ones I see people egnore or forget the most often
1. danny hates Christmas and even if he mellows out he will never love it and the idea he'd visit or even willingly be around his parents that time of year is stupid they are the reason he hates the Holliday
2. danny hates toast
3. danny wants to be an astronaut he's a star nerd (but can't become one after the accident for obvious reasons)
4. tucker and val are the only ones within our main cast that have a healthy normal family, Sam's parents are overprotective and hella pushy, and Danny's parents are also overprotective and VERY self absorbed/negligent
5. tucker is a furry
6. Sam's hair is most likely died (both her parents are blonde)
7. Danny has been tortured by both vlad and Val. Canonically, he is a torture victim
8. Danny is canonically attractive, described as "cute" and "handsome." he's an outcast not for his looks but because of his interests, friends, and his parents
9. Sam is new to town and most likely only met the beginning of that year it's also implied that they have known each other since 3rd grade (but she doesn't know things about him like him hateing Christmas so I'm going with she is new)
10. Danny is a people pleaser and an empath with low self-esteem
11. In Outsiders, Pov danny is seen as a delinquent,
12. Danny is a victim of grooming and sexual assault (spectra) he is also a stalking victim (vlad)
13. Danny didn't want to be a hero but stated, "I have the power to help, so it's my responsibility." If someone is screaming for help, I can't turn away"
14. Danny isn't expecting a thank you or people to like him he's doing this because it is the responsible and right thing to do
15. Danny's crush on Palina is short it lasts for a few episodes, and he gets over it quickly it's the hot, popular crush that we all go through as teens
16. He judges actions, not looks sticks up for the Lil guy/ distrusts authority
17. His sister is the most important person in his life
18. The Fentons have a torture dungeon under the basement
19. Danny is responsible for cleaning up his parents' experiments, the lab, and the portal, and has been for years (wtf)
20. Danny likes wordplay/puns, is a prankster, and is willing to steal and manipulate if a situation calls for it or as payback
21. Danny showers after gym only when everyone has left/is shy of his body (scars/trans headcanons go nuts)
22. Danny is constantly being taken advantage of by his ruges and friends and will egnore toxic behavior/crossed lines at times to keep the person happy and avoid conflict, especially if it's friends or family
23. He has a staring habit
24. His ancestors were witch hunters that went under the name nightingale
25. Bloodblosoms (red roses) that are deadly to ghosts and by extention him
26. Danny is incredibly protective of his sister
27. Sam basically murdered danny with a smile on her face in the "what if I'd never met you episode"
28. Vlad is dannys Godfather
29. Danny has an aunt from his Mums side who lives out in the country and owns a farm (can't remember her name)
30. Danny is described as "taking after his mother" and "just like his mother"
Important note for #18 here is that it isn't a ghost torture basement. It's just a fuckin. Normal? torture basement. There is a ghost torture basement somewhere (that Valerie has access to for some reason, likely just a random ass abandoned basement or bunker) but it is not the Fenton's.
#29, her name is Alicia
Lastly #25 to be fair, it is somewhat implied that blood blossoms are extinct
Ok, for 18, I didn't specify what type of torture basement the fentons have, but they have a normal /its not normal to have one, but its a human based one under the lab
Thanks somone already pointed out her name
And 25 yes bloodblosoms are extinct in the wild in modern-day Canon, but they did come across them when messing around and going back in time to the witch hunting timeline. but it's not far-fetched to say someone might be growing them in rehabilitation or whatever .we do it all the time, irl, and it's great stuff to use in fics
I like to headcanon that salt affects danny as well because of the yk ghost and its more variety than just ecto Gun or Whatever. ecto weapons are the more ig advance method, but I imagine before that hunters used salt and shit winchesters style lol
What do you mean not a lot of people discuss it? Sure, there anit a lot, but there are plenty of dp fans that hate sam, especially for this
I've even seen someone draw a meme for it
We as a fandom also just make her better in fanon because well talking about Canon sam upsets alot of us I personally hate her but don't bring it up much why because it's a mood killer and well most fics are in Danny's pov and as we know he's a people pleaser a jokster and has low self-esteem witch combine that he's also bit of an unreliable narrator lol
This fandom is basically just a bunch of us taking what we like from Canon material and expanding on it, creating our own little reboot that includes taking out or expanding on things or character arcs
The show is shit but it's got a lot of good concepts and material that we as a fandom have taken to make what could have been better even better
Sometimes... A mutual will reblog something from a fandom you were kinda into/aware of, but you will not realize how deep the rabbit hole goes until you read the damn post.

Some of the ghost habits drive me nuts too, like danny really likes his legs but if he zooming theres gonna be a tail. Let our boy morph his body . Two heads, fifty legs, who care? Me! I want some weird fuckedy that a teen boy would experiment on and use fully to mess with his friends.
Yeah he's traumatized, has anxiety, and all that tragedy that got swept under the rug.
But lets not forget that to have that as a tragedy you have to have the aspect of him that he is also just a boy. A boy who wants to relax and have fun. Who gets embarrassed and makes mistakes because he hasnt had life happen to him and kinda never will.
Bruce: Tim, why did I just get a an email from Gotham Funeral Sevices, giving me condolences and thanking me for purchasing a black, green, and silver coffin?!
Tim, who has been hiding a sleeping 'vampire' in his room for two weeks: Wow! Why do you think it was me?
Bruce: Jason won't take my money, Dick avoids anything funeral related, Damian told me Talia already has his funeral arrangements planned and "none of the ilk he kills deserves coffins"-
Tim: Yikes.
Bruce: I know. Steph is convinced shes either never going to die or shes going to die fighting God, not sure what that means but she scares me, and Barbra and Duke are my good children who I pretend I never have to worry about in regards to things like these.
Tim: What about Cass?
Bruce: If Cass needed a coffin, she'd either come out and ask me, or I would never know about it. Meaning, it has to be you.
Tim: Touche.
Bruce: Timothy what is the coffin for?!
Tim: Okay jeez. If you must know, I thought sleeping in a small enclosed space would help with my sleep schedule.
Bruce: Why not just ask for a bunk bed, or use the closet or wardrobe?
Tim: Its was 3 am! Give me a break!
Bruce, sighs: ..........So, does it actually help with sleep?
Fast forward to Bruce unironically purchasing his own coffin for naps and finding them actually very comfortable, in fact.
It then becomes a Thing, because of course all the other bats simply must try it (for science, obviously, and also because they wanted it to suck so that they could make fun of Bruce for it with receipts. but they were disappointed when it was, in fact, extremely comfortable [the outlier here is Jason, who has coffin trauma and will not be counted]).
So begins the trend of bats napping in coffins like vampires. If it ever gets out to the public — which of course it eventually will — the entire superhero community is going to lose their minds.
Most people in Amity know Danny is Phantom, especially the teenagers. More importantly, they've realized that everyone in Amity is liminal enough to be summoned with the correct runes. And so a system has been devised so when they want to hang out somewhere, one person goes in, draws a big summoning circle, and just summons everyone else. It saves a lot on transportation and it's just practical.
Now that they're all old enough to go to college, most have spread all around the country. Staying in contact is not a problem, however, they can just summon each other, get together for a while, then break the circle and send them back to wherever they were before. Perfect solution. It doesn't even register as weird, they've been doing it for years and no one even bats an eye anymore. No one in Amity that is.
It'd be fine except they've caught the attention of the Justice League. On the heroes perspective, they have just discovered a cult that formed seemingly out of nowhere and keeps leaving neon green summoning circles with ominous runes traced along the edges in random places all over the country. They have not found any sign that people are getting hurt but that only means the cult is thorough at covering their tracks. Where did so many well-organized, clearly trained people come from? What are their bigger plans? Who are they targeting? They're clearly a big threat and they need to be a priority in investigating.
But all I can think of is some very angry parents realizing their teenager snuck out of the house, and immediately summoning them back home to be grounded.
Or
A child getting lost, or kidnap and the parents/police being able to summon them back before they can be hurt.

I would love to see this turned into a fic. And I feel like Danny, would be sitting somewhere with popcorn and snacks watching things unfold. Sam, Tucker, Val, and maybe Jazz would feel a mix of exasperation, pride, and vindication that others are now able to better under the chaos that is Danny. And Jason might join Danny? I have only experienced fanon for most of DC aside from Teen Titans which I watched growing up.

Constantine: (takes one look at the circle) Damn Parker’s must have graduated
JL member: what?
Constantine: yeah an entire high school class got contaminated with death magic about five years ago. They’re pretty chill for rabid raccoon children.
Flash: okay by raccoon children do you mean actual raccoons because in our line of work that’s an actual possibility
Constantine: imagine the Titans of YJ all had access to the realm between dimensions, knowledge of lost magic and have completely normalized their behavior that no one would be surprised by anything they do
Constantine: ok so when you first formed you didn’t have a magic specialist beyond Wonder Woman. And then then she only is resistant to magic or at least knows when magic is afoot.
Around that same time you set up a hotline for emergencies. Amity park is a weak spot in the veil AND on top of a lay line. The resident scientists used that to prove their theory that the infinite realms exist and that their work should be taken seriously…without seriously considering the fact that they just torn a permanent hole into another dimension with different customs, and all who have enough abilities to keep every member of the JL and any other groups to keep us busy while still having enough to take over the entire solar system.
Luckily for everyone involved Phantom had decided to take residence in amity and decided to protect the town form ghosts abd the ghost from the hunters. Anyone who knew there stuff when it came to magic saw phantom, knew his rep and left thinking hood enough.
*takes a big pull from his cigarette* Turns out we were all wrong. The infinite realms can take you to any time and place if you find or fall in the right spot. So all of Phantom’s appearances over the centuries and world were really a freshly dead teen who was struggling to fight things bigger than himself. With no support beside other teens he befriended. If it wasn’t for the Fenton kids and their friends especially their son (John is actively hiding/or at least can’t say Danny and phantom are the same person.) sneaking Phantom his parents inventions, we’d all be dead 5 times over.
Those Parker’s their entire time in high school they were attacked by countless ghosts so they had to learn to defend themselves. Combine with the death magic infected the whole town, they gained abilities and talked to less hostile ghosts willing to teach them things for help indulging in their obsessions. Put it together and you got your *cult*

Tim, Jason and Duke were sent out to investigate an old abandoned building on the edges of Gotham. Oracle kept getting reports on the cult-like activity coming from the building.
The first report was when teens were spotted near the entrance, the witness didn't think much of it until they could hear chirps and firecrackers coming from both the teens and inside the building. The second report was when cloaked figures were spotted leaving and entrancing the building really late at night, that witness could have sworn that the cloaked figures called themselves witches.
The final report was from a police officer that finally went to investigate the building, he went inside only to find two boys who looked identical standing in the middle of a circle. When they started floating the officer looked up to see a bunch of grins and eyes watching him almost as if they were waiting for a sacrifice.
Gordon did the smart thing and left the case to the Bats. So here is Tim, Duke and Jason standing in an abandoned building close to midnight. Duke would normally be asleep but they wanted to be safe and have the Meta with them. Duke pointed to a slight crack that admitted a low green light from underneath.
Finding their way through the building, leading to them making their way underground. The building felt less abandoned and more alive going further down. Tim pointed out that the layout never mentioned the underground being that deep. They made it to a door and could hear faint whispers and laughter, of children?
They opened the door to find over 20 teens in a large room. It almost looked like a giant sleepover if not for the one adult passed out in the corner, 3 teens were drawing on his face. When they heard a thud from the door hitting the wall they snapped from their places to see the 3 vigilantes staring back.
Had to just use a link previously since I wasn't able to upload the full video on tumblr (the file was too big) but I can still upload a little toothless compilation so... here!
