Henrik is German, born and raised in Germany until he left for University at the age of 18. Despite being in the US for nearly 10 years, he still stumbles over his words, says things that are a grammatical nightmare and generally doesn’t understand.
Somebody once told them he looked ravishing and he asked his brothers why somebody would say he looked like a fruit (a radish is not a fruit, he does not know this)
He had two brothers, one older and very successful, one younger and still in college.
His brothers were actually the first to move and he followed after deciding if they could do something crazy and fun, so could he.
Growing up they were very protective over Henrik because he was so painfully shy. They would speak for him most of the time, so he learned that he didn’t have to. He still is painfully shy.
At 6′5″(1.95m), he is one of the lankiest children you will meet and he’s quite self-conscious about it.
When he was younger his parents took the whole family to a ballet and after he begged them to let him try. He only quit before college because he knew he would never be the right fit for a professional school.
Of course, he couldn’t actually stop and he did get picked up by a school! He danced in New York before moving.
In college, anxiety and general hopelessness set in and Henrik developed insomnia. This is when he started baking.
Why sit around and do nothing when you can learn something new was his line of thought.
He is the softest of boys, very easy to take advantage of, and he has been in the past.
