”Tahm, my friend. I’ve got some gifts for you.”
Tahm’s ever present smile grew bigger once more at the Vastaya’s words. He'd learnt that gifts rarely came without requests for compensation. But, then again, perhaps he was wrong. This wouldn’t be the first time he’d been mistaken.
‘That’s too kind of you, Mikail, but I lament, for I have nothing to offer you in return. That is, unless you hunger for my aid, of course?’
”Mm no, not yet at least. But I got a box of these and it reminded of the time you visited. You looked so content so-” he holds out a decorated box, shaking it slightly to allow the content to clatter around. It was a box of cookies, a rather large one at that. ”Don’t worry, I get these a lot in the mail sometimes. I have a friend who is aware of my sweet tooth. But I don’t eat them quick enough. It would be a shame to let them spoil.”
