Welcome to my Blog!

Hello! i thought i’d make a more formal intro post here- My name is Nausa but in this blog i prefer being addressed as Dante! I’m a 19yr old art student who very much enjoys Philip Wittebane content in case you couldn’t tell… I use this blog predominantly for anything Belos related which includes a lot of posting about my OC, Dante Legant!

Dante Legant is a 23-27 year old (depending on what point in the timeline we’re at-) who stumbled into the Boiling isles and met Emperor Belos! there’s a whole lot of lore but i’ll save that for some other time. This Blog is pretty heavy on OC x Canon so if you’re just here for my Philip art and don’t want to see any ship stuff, i recommend blocking the #Belgant tag that i use for ship art and rants!

Anyway headcanon that belos would--RARELY but still would--pick up mannerisms from random members of the emperor's coven

Like imagine he's just sitting in the throne room, doing whatever he does when he overhears one of the coven members grumbling "my scroll is broken? give me a break man," and he's there thinking, foolish witches with their nonsense terminology, then moves on but he keeps overhearing it. Not like, all the time but enough from passing by other members to figure out what they mean then comes a day he's walking with hunter and hears kikimora calling for him to pester him about something, and Belos unknowingly mutters out loud "Ugh, Give me a break here" And Hunter's neck nearly snaps from how quick he looks at belos because ???? this is the same uncle who likes to use words like "Hitherto" and "Betwixt" then all of a sudden drops that.

Belos Fan Event Announcement!!

Hello! For those that don't know me I ran the BelosSimpTober back in 2023, and I thought it would be nice to do an event for Belos fans again, this time in the summer (not only since people have more free time, but since the show takes place over the summer) , with only 1 prompt pair week and this time making sure to include any Belos fan, simp or not.

Prompts will begin being given out on the 13th (this Monday). Any sorts of art forms are welcome!! Art, animation, sketches, crafts, writing, music, collages, ect!! Go have fun!!

I made some Don’t Starve Together Philip Wittebane mods ! :D

Credit goes to @Harlymph for the special code :) (they made it so Philip gains health when killing things and loses sanity when holding a red bird)

Let’s dive into some villain appreciation with Emperor Belos (Philip Wittebane) from The Owl House. Honestly, I absolutely adore this sinister, uncompromising, and incredibly charismatic old man. He is easily the best-written part of the show for me.

To be completely frank, I didn’t love the series as a whole, rating it around a 3.5 out of 5. The core plot feels too cliché—yet another quirky girl (Luz Noceda) who travels to a magical realm, finds loyal friends, and gets powers. The world-building borrows heavily from various anime, and there aren't many shocking plot twists. Plus, you can clearly feel the consequences of Dana Terrace's conflict with Disney. Because they heavily cut season 3, she had to compress a full season into a few 40-minute specials. As a result, the ending feels incredibly rushed, and many plotlines were completely lost.

But despite the rushed pacing, the way Belos was written is masterclass. My absolute favorite part is the episode where Luz enters his mind and explores his memories through paintings. This is the ultimate visual storytelling. The lore isn't dumped on you via boring dialogue; instead, it unfolds naturally through the environment, hidden details, and creepy background art. That is exactly how true storytelling in animation should work!

He is just such a brilliant, ruthless, and captivating villain. I just had to draw him!
