hello, gi health complications aside, i needed to have a minor surgery on my shoulder that has suffered a couple complications that are making recovery a little more painful and difficult, primarily a small infection in the incision now being treated with anti biotics bc of an allergic skin reaction i had to the latex in the bandages i was using. the skin surrounding the incision is messed up and painful, and ive been lethargic since surgery. moving my arm atm is already difficult but the bruise and burning around the incision makes lifting my arm above my chest impossible and im just. out of commission in general for a bit.

rent and bills are due in a few days and i havent been paid yet, my pay is capped at $947 by the federal goverment and doesnt cover rent completely but it covers about 90% of it most of the time, so im kind of just. waiting. im mostly just worried about the cost of the electricity coming up, as the bill arrives on the 6th and with my ac still broken in 100+ degree heat its going to skyrocket and already inflated summer cost while im trying to recover. which is all not good

id deeply appreciate any help, getting around in the heat as a disabled person is already a challenge but being trapped in the heat and disabled while trying to recover from surgery feels like hell :')

i am still trying to recovery from a recent surgery that has been causing me some painful and prolonged complications, before surgery i was contacting my landlord about fixing the ac before the procedure, bc it broken in june, in the average 105° summer heat. im still doing back and forth betwedn the property manager, the maintenance head, and another maintenance guy, but we still dont have a date set to fix it

its unbearably hot

just leaving the half-working ac off to save electricity wasnt an option, without it on even half working the temps in my apartment rose from a miserable 87° to a literally deadly 99° - 100+° DAILY (when it worked correctly i could set the temp to 60 and it would just be 60, its just needs repairs) and i knew the bill would be exceptionally high from my average like $40 to $60 dollar electric bill because of increased summer heat costs and constantly running it while trying to get it fixed bc not running it for a day made me pass out in the bathroom when it was 115° outside

so my current electric bill this month is an incredibly demoralizing $140.89, due on the 7th, and after paying my $1021 in rent, my $50 phone bill, internet, my storage bill, and having to pay for an uber to go get the inflamed incision looked at and both pick up and pay for 2 medications insurance doesnt cover i have. $0.11 in my bank 🙃

im still just trying to heal, mobility in my arm and shoulder is gradually coming back but everything is so sore scabby, the lethargy is killing me, and the nausea is just. ruining my life. i am a little desperate for this bill bc the electric company will immediately start charging me high late fees if i cant scrounge up the money in time. they are already raising electric rates by 30% and i am honest to god terrified they will just shut off my electricity in the middle of july smy heat, one of the hottest months of the year, with temps actively like 105° to 120°

im mostly bedridden rn for good reason but im TRAPPED and god. please. the heat will literally kill me and my dogs, i am desperate

lui didn't have a license nor did she have a motorbike. apparently she'd stolen it from someone who wouldn't miss it — so she had said — and ajay had watched the power die from it right as lui had parked in front of her, the pride from lui's expression warping into annoyance in the same run. then ajay had watched lui work her skilled fingers twisting cords for the next five minutes; dirtying both her healthy and metallic skin with the bike's mud and sticky oil stains.

when they finally rode the bike into the night, ajay's hands held lui's waist. her fingers grasped into the girl's loose hoodie and securely pressed through the fabric against the softness of lui's stomach. the breezing wind whistled in ajay's ears, pushing through her thick jacket into her prickling skin. she leaned her ear into lui's upper back, the fluorescent lights of the city just barely flashing in her eyes when their bodies morphed together, ajay's warmth finding strange security in lui's coolth.

“what if we run over someone?“ ajay asked.

“that'd be fun,“ lui simply said.
