I need to talk about how the 12th doctor and Clara's relationship dynamic is very similar to that of Saul and Kim's from breaking bad. STAY WITH ME HERE LET ME EXPLAIN- Saul is obviously a very flawed character, and as much as doctor who fans don't want to admit it, the doctor can be flawed too. In fact, many characters the doctor meets call them 'selfish' as the doctors' priorities have always been somewhat biased, bending the rules of reality often to 'heroically' save his companion. In better call Saul, we see Kim fall deeper and deeper into Saul's antics, eventually causing a dynamic where both people in the relationship are constantly pushing the other one further into extreme risk-taking behaviour. The exact same same thing happens to the doctor and Clara, but when clara is the one to take that final step too far, the doctor had already grown far too attached, trying desperately to get her back, untill he realises he has gone too far and either he or Clara has to let go, just like when Kim realises she needs to leave Saul after the death of Howard.
