Hello! Welcome to my COD-tainment zone. You can call me Topsy.

I'm a hobby artist and an avid fanfic writer, and I just do this shit for fun and to make myself happy

I'm new to the GhostSoap fandom, but have been making fanart and writing fanfic for The Elder Scrolls and Disco Elysium for years. (You can find my other two blogs if you click those little hyperlinks. I may sometimes accidentally reply from my Disco blog).

I'm at the whims of my muse and promise no consistency with my posting. But I am certainly a Reply Guy, so I will yap with you given the opportunity.

I'm more active on Bsky, where I also post Spicy Ghoap! Come find me there if you're so inclined. I'm also on AO3, and have officially started posting my fic: "Another Round".

8 ⧽. what part of "Another Round" is your favorite?

Oh man, of the bits that are posted so far... I loved chapter 3 a lot, not just because it's Ghost and Soap fucking each other senseless in multiple different ways, but also because they were really starting to fall for each other. And that peek at the future of what their relationship could be.

Otherwise, chapter 10 has what I've been edging myself with for three months straight. 😂 So finally getting to write the [REDACTED] scene and also when they finally [REDACTED]... I was having the time of my life.

12 ⧽. what's a song or two you associate with "Another Round"?

Oh fuckin hell I made a whole playlist because of course I did 🫠 It kind of goes through the phases of the chapters, generally following the plot for the most part.

3 ⧽. what's something you like about your writing?

This is a very sweet one! I think what I like most about my writing is how much I've managed to improve! Which maybe that's a cop-out answer... But seriously. My style went from being very meandering and kind of poetically try-hard to much punchier and direct. I go for a "cinematic" style because that's how fics appear in my mind: kind of playing like a movie. So I try to cut the fat and get to the most basic and necessary details to really beam what I'm seeing into the reader's brain.

17 ⧽. are there any songs you want to write a songfic for?

Oh man, a song fic.... I haven't thought about writing a song fic in YEARS. Wait lemme.... *scrolls through my playlists real quick*

Okay, I think a fic based on "Grown So Ugly" by The Black Keys would be a fun premise: not recognizing your lover after a long time of being a part. I think it would be fun for Ghoap - an appropriate amount of angst LOL.

OR... "Summer Wine" by Nancy Sinatra. That's a classic premise. Am I doing this right? 💀

4 ⧽. is there an au or trope that you haven't written before, but would want to try?

Y'know, I've always kind of wanted to do one of those classic Tattoo Shop/Flower Shop type stories LOL. Just something super mundane and low stakes and kind of cutesy. Knowing me, though, I'd somehow make it Angsty or about like...battling internalized homophobia and religious trauma or something. 😂 But I think it would be really fun to give it a go. That and, because I'm a small business owner, I feel like I could really use it to complain about the Woes. 💀

9 ⧽. tell us about a wip/idea that you're excited about!

I am VERY excited about my weird freaky dog-hybrid soldier fic I've been working on. I think it's about 8k in, and it'll probably just be a very long one-shot as opposed to a multichapter thing. But I'm cramming body horror, civil rights, Touch-Starved Ghost, recovery/sickfic, and sharing leave together all into one bundle. 😈

Storage closet

One of my favourite tropes is ‘forced to hide in a cramped space’ with one or both fighting hard (usually against their urges).

One of the first fanfics that drew me into this fandom was ‘Poison Apple’ by surveycorpsjean @zanimez.

1 ⧽. if you could sit down and finish any one of your wips without anything stopping you (time, tiredness, etc), which fic would you choose? tell us about it if you want!

Hands down no doubt I'd be finishing 'Another Round'. Five chapters to go and so much of it is just fucking cathartic. The lads getting to relax and be normal with each other for the first time - no pretense of weird hookup rules or military expectations. I've already got chapter 11 written and it's just been so lovely so far.

BUT very close runner up is the yoga teacher!Simon AU I've been cooking. Because it actively drives me crazy on the daily.

Basic plot: Johnny survives The Tunnel incident from MW3 but it leaves him with a TBI and deaf in one ear. He's discharged and hasn't seen Ghost since. About 4 years later, he agrees to go to a yoga retreat with his girlfriend in an effort to salvage their failing relationships, and she's telling him all about how one of the teachers is a vet and maybe they'll have something in common! 😌

10 ⧽. what genre is generally the easiest or most enjoyable for you to write? which is the hardest?

I obviously write a lot of romance, and it's for sure my favorite genre. I'd say the romance itself is usually secondary to whatever character development the protag might be going through, or informs the development. I've written a couple coming-of-age stories and those were a lot of fun. I somehow ALWAYS end up writing some kind of action adventure, and it's hard as fuck to write! But very satisfying once it's done. 'Another Round' definitely went in that direction.
