“No, nothing else.” noelle said as politely as she could muster up, but when daphne added the last comment she shook her head with a scoff. “you can hate me all you want. but i’m not in the mood to be tried right now, i’ve had a pretty good day and i don’t feel like having it ruined by someone who hates me for things that didn’t even affect them directly.” she had come off sounding more catty than she wanted, but there was no room for apologies in the conversation. or at least that’s what noelle told herself.
Anyone who knew Daphne well would corroborate the fact that she’d never been a particularly confrontational person. This was in part due to her belief that ‘ignoring a problem until it goes away’ was a valid way to deal with things. However, she’d spare none of her signature sarcasm, eye rolls or large toothy smiles with people who’d managed to cross those she cared for the most. And with Noelle, the list was pretty long. “Trust me, I have plenty of reasons to dislike you. Not all of them in relation to what you deem to be things that don’t affect me. — But anyway, I’ll go give your order to the chef, and make sure he gets this done quickly so I can get you out of my hair,” she replied, suppressing yet another eye roll.
