I saw [DAPHNE CAVALLO] at a coffee shop in [BROOKLYN] today. I forgot how much [THEY] look like [MEGAN FOX]. They are a [THIRTY FOUR] year old [LAWYER] who’s been in NYC for [ONE MONTH] now. Every time we run into each other, they are always [SWEET AND TENACIOUS] but I’ve heard people say they can also be [DISTRUSTING AND SECRETIVE]. daphne was born and raised in paris, their dad is french and their mother was italian. daphne was very close to their dad and distant from their mother, as she was very domineering and abusive, not just to daphne but also to her husband, constantly controlling and criticizing the two of them, breaking them down completely. the day she died in a car accident was one of the best days of daphne’s life, and they feel guilty about that.
after that they were raised by their father, francois, who was utterly devoted to his child. he was also a banker for one of the top banks in france so he was able to give daphne a pretty good childhood, and never let them forget how much their father loved them.
daphne would love their father when they were ten. not to death, but to the criminal justice system. it turned out that for almost a decade daphne’s father was the serial killer known as ‘The Butcher of Paris’, or ‘The Seine Slasher’, as he would dump parts of his victims in the river. he plead guilty once he was discovered and agreed to go quietly, asking only that daphne be left out of things.
while still trying to comprehend what was happening, daphne was sent to milan to live with their maternal grandparents, who promptly changed daphne’s last name to theirs, in order to better hide them from the press, and sent them to a fancy private boarding school.
daphne followed their father’s trial closely, unable to comprehend how the man who loved them and cared for them so dearly was able to do such horrible things.
after they graduated from the boarding school, they returned to paris to study law at the sorbonne. they still used their mother’s maiden name for their last name as while their father had been in prison for years at that point, he was still considered notorious and they didnt want to attract any attention. they studied corporate and international law and quickly found work after graduating.
they were able to enjoy a pretty normal life in paris, and they remained in touch with their father, writing to him and visiting him whenever they could, and becoming well respected at the firm where they worked. they were even in a steady relationship. things seemed to be falling into place.
however, it all fell apart once daphne found out their s/o was a journalist, trying to find out more about daphne’s father and daphne. broken hearted, betrayed, and utterly furious, daphne immediately left them, cutting them off and moving to america.
they passed the american bar exam and continues to practice law in brooklyn. theyve recently started considering writing a book about their childhood, growing up with their father and life after his conviction, but they never dwell on it for very long.

fellow lawyers, daphne would def network and befriend other lawyers, but if theyre criminal lawyers they will keep their distance and be wary. they know it isnt likely that anyone in america would know or care about a serial killer in france, but better to be safe than sorry.
