Welp I survived the Steampunk World’s Fair!  Now to go back to working on my event in September and time to photograph a new set of items to post for sale.

The Steampunk Farmers Market

SO, a while back I made a post that I may be pulling together a Steampunk event. Welp, it is official!  The Steampunk Farmer's Market will be happening in New Freedom, Pennsylvania on Saturday September 12th, 10-2Pm(ish) with the option to go later if we have a good turnout.  I do not have much information yet on activities or anything given today was the first official day of plannng but our local steam train may be involved, as well as a model train hobby shop!  We will be looking for vendors, food carts, and some kind of entertainment. Steampunk themed artists, authors, and demonstration-doers are also welcome!  A vendor application is in the works, but not ready quite yet.  If anyone knows of a Steampunk-suitable band willing to work with a first year event's limited budget in the South-Central PA area, let me know!  Here is to hoping that all goes well, and that a good event can be pulled together!

Slowly been getting the hang of using a sewing machine! I still feel like I am only pretending to know what I am doing, but I am getting there.  Following in with my habit of never starting easy, I've been working on prototypes for Steampunk lace up wrist cuffs. These ones are a vast improvement over the few hand-sewn ones I made a couple years ago. The green one just needs to have the eyelets added to be considered finished.

Robot spam! Jewelry-related followers beware!  Beast Wars Optimus Primal done completely in Lightwave.  Old render is old. I miss doing 3D stuff so bad (my work computer needs some serious updates to function again).. and I want to go back in and update this guy some day, since he was done in a hurry for a contest. Clean up some of the textures and the model some, maybe add a few more details. Ah well, one day.

Courtesy Note! 2015 is hitting like a freight train and sort of putting a stop to productivity. Yaaaay, illness!  To people who follow me for jewelry: It may be a week or two before new pieces start to show up here. A combo of illness and being out of town makes photographing new things kinda tricky.  In the mean time, I may post some old artwork just to keep activity up.

New Freedom PA Steampunk Event - Sometime Summerish 2015

So, I got put in charge of A Thing in association with the Farmers Market I vend at most Saturdays in the warm months and once a month in the winter.   I am trying to pull together a probably one day (Saturday) Steampunk themed event, that will be an outdoor event in a public park area. I was just wondering if anyone might have suggestions on events that I could look into doing, or other activities that might draw people in to see what is going on.  Basically, what would -you- like to see at a one day Steampunk Event? What would make you interested in coming? This is a small town, low-budget kind of thing.  Ideas I have been throwing around  Things I would like to do :  -Have craft and food vendors  -Have several activities or events   -Talk to the steam train that runs and gives rides in town to see if they would be interested in being involved somehow.  Things I would like to do but do not know if we could afford: -Having a musical performance Ideas that I have poked at but am not sure if anyone would be interested: -Steampunk costume showcase/contest -A costume-optional charity walk/run through town or along the rail trail the train travels alongside through pretty country. -Drum circle? So. Suggestions, options, alterations? What do. Halp.
