Ok I’m not fully up to date on all the dragon’s rising lore but the new scene where Lloyd meets the younger version of himself that never had the chance to exist immediately made me think of this

ok no but like I don't think newer fans understand just how much it means that Cole has a boyfriend now. he's been gay-coded since 2011, when you couldn't put that stuff in a kids' show so you had to mask it as something else for plausible deniability. some of us have waited over a decade for this, never expecting to get any sort of canon acknowledgement, other fans saying it was crazy to even headcanon him as gay and the subtext actually didn't mean anything. it seemed like he would either be given a random female love interest like everyone else or just remain ambiguously alone for the rest of time, forever remaining in that limbo space of "gay-coded by omission." and then...they...suddenly got some courage. they continued his story earnestly and meaningfully. they gave him a family, kids, a man who clearly loves him. they let them hold hands and caress each other onscreen, look in each other's eyes like they hung the stars. they don't have to say they're together, I don't care. only people in denial try to explain it away. my favorite ninja grew up, and he's like me, and he's allowed to be. that's everything.

I feel like the Logan/Spencer relationship is something straight out of like, a gay artist’s webcomic about high school. Swim team captain jock boy has a bisexual awakening with math tutor nerd boy. Math tutor also had a fling with this Colombian exchange student that he is still upset over, causing angst. Swim team captain has a transgender best friend that comes and makes quirky jokes sometimes. The coach of the team is an older gay man that jock boy looks up to as a father figure. He has another good friend who is a lesbian and she has a relationship with a JROTC girl. Nerd boy has a fake friendship with biologist nerd girl and they secretly respect each other as rivals but will never admit it. Also the names of the lead jock and nerd boys are Logan Bell and Spencer Lawrence which are maybe the most perfect fit names for this sort of thing
