ooc | Fanny & Darcy
OH MY GOSH. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER BE OVER DARCY’S THOUGHTS ON FANNY NOPE. Although ALL THE ACCURATE. And it’s actually really funny that like Fanny is ALL ABOUT helping her bros (Robert, too, but especially Edward) to find good marriages and she’s actually really hurting him w/ the Darcys (although if/when Darcy actually meets Edward, I think he’ll see pretty quickly that he is nothing like his sister, but still).
But Fanny will like NOT give up with Darcy. i mean, she probably eventually will, but it will take a lot like if he calls her out on her behavior towards her sisters-in-law, she’ll basically go on about how helping them will hurt her son and also how he doesn’t know them (assuming he doesn’t??) and go on about how horrible they are. AND IT WILL BE SUCH A DISASTER I DON’T EVEN KNOW.
Oh! So, in my latest comment to Dashwood as Bingley, I basically suggested the possibility of Charles coming in to Netherfield before they are ready, like his letter announcing his arrival to his servants was lost or something in the post and basically he and his guests are planning to stay the night in town and they run into John Dashwood who invites them all back to his place BASICALLY SO WE CAN HAVE SOME REALLY AWKWARD/UNCOMFORTABLE/AWESOME Caroline/John/Darcy/Bingley/Fanny interactions where they can’t escape each other. Thoughts??
I NEED THE CAROLINE/JOHN/DARCY/BINGLEY/FANNY INTERACTIONS LIKE I NEED AIR OK THIS MUUUUUUST BE A THING Darcy would also be soooooo thrilled ok like he'd be like DAMMIT BINGLEY WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT AN INN AND RISKED YOUR SISTERS HONOR OVER THIS basically ;DDDDD Ommmmggggg but Caroline and Fanny both vying for the love of various Darcies while Fanny tries to woo Caroline for one of her other brothers I ACTUALLY CANNOT THIS IS THE GREATEST (That is NOT how Darcy will see it tho ;DDDDD) Do you think that this all takes place before or after the Dashwood girls are booted? Hahah bc this could be a VERY full house ;DDD Oh, yeah. I actually think that, upon meeting him, Darcy will like Edward (not that he'll be very obv about it bc this is Darcy afterall) and would probs be in support of him following his vocation rather than what his mother wants (Darcy has visions of his lady aunt Catherine and his sickly 'intended' lbr). BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY ENTIRELY. Idk what Darcy's relationship is with the Dashwood girls, yet, but I'll let you know once we've hashed that out. OK SO THIS WAS REALLY ALL OVER THE PLACE???? I have no idea if I answered everything BUT BASICALLY I LOVE IT ALL AND I SOOOOO NEED THIS LAKDJFKLDAJKFJ <333333
London Calling | Darcy & Brandon
London had grown cold as winds swept between grey buildings, churning red and orange leaves under the hooves of fleet horses and the shoes of determined walkers. One such brave soul, Fitzwilliam Darcy, ducked his head against the wind, teeth clenched. He was so very close to his destination and inside, he knew well enough, the fires would keep the rooms warm. Hastening up the three stairs that led to the door, Darcy rapped twice with his cane and was soon admitted. Handing off his hat, cane, and cloak to the doorman, he was promptly ushered inside the club ((shhh idk what they're doing let's just go with it - au in which Darcy owns a successful speakeasy idk hahah - jk, I figure it's more like Mycroft's ~silent gentleman's gathering place except without the silence and laptops obv)). The room was above with soft conversation and, pausing in the doorway to take in the scene only briefly, Darcy spotted the roaring fire and made his way there as quickly as dodging the others gathered there would allow. The heat was comforting against his hands and face and warmed even his clothes. Gratefully, he lingered, one hand against the mantle as if he owned the place. Pressing his eyes closed in silent appreciation, he opened them again, when he heard movement beside him. Another traveler had apparently also just arrived and was taking his solace by the fire as well. Briefly, Darcy's blue eyes lingered upon the new comer before the faintly irritating revelation that he should greet this person ruffled his feathers. Turning back towards the flames with a soft scowl, he grumbled an obligatory, "Good day, sir."
OOC | Darcy & Elinor
How do you see these two getting on? I can actually see it going a couple different ways, mostly depending on how long they've known one another. While I think he'd certainly respect her integrity and good sense, regardless, and we all know he is quite capable of separating out of the behaviors of different people within families (lookin atchu Elizabeth Bennet), he'd still be shocked by the scandalous conduct of Marianne and horrified by Fanny's general existence. That being said, Darcy would be appalled by the treatment of John and Fanny towards Mary, Elinor, Marianne, and Margaret, and probs wish to extend them help of some kind in their time of need, though he'd probs send Bingley to do any visiting required ;DDD Jk, jk. In any case, if they've known each other for longer, than he's probs warmed towards them, as he does. If not, he probs comes off and cold and aloof, also as he does. Altho they might be exposed to a kinder side of him bc Darcy, as we know, isn't one to ignore injustice. But ummm, yeah, idk what your thought are?
OOC | Darcy & Anne
Ok, so Darcy would LOATHE the rest of her family, but I can see him respecting Anne, altho idk how she'd feel about him, esp given his cold exterior, unless you think Kellynch Hall might be in same general vicinity of Pemberley, so they've potentially known each other growing up or something? And they both happen to come to this area around the same time in place of Bath, in her case, or something? Am I making any sense? If not, we all know the kind of first impression Darcy makes so idk what she'd make of that?
OOC | Darcy & Robert
Ok, so I'm not exactly sure how/when they'd ever interact, but Darcy would treat him with politeness and as much kindness as he can muster, as befits a gentleman towards another gentleman in meaner circumstances. Esp since Robert is respectable and good at what he does, etc. Do you know whose lands Robert works? Or does he own his own?
ooc | Brandon & Darcy
OKAY, so I was thinking and I think it would be best for them to be just meeting (or have met before in London or something, but basically Brandon think’s Darcy is rude/proud/thinks he’s above everyone and everything). Especially b/c I do think it’s important that the general thought is that Darcy isn’t a nice person, bc if Brandon vouched for him than the MIddletons and Mrs. Jennings would sing his praises, too, I think, but if not than like Mrs. Jennings and Sir John would basically be going around saying how Darcy is no good, b/c they are gossips like that. And like I don’t think that Brandon would have said horrible things about him, or anything, but like would have basically stated the facts of their acquaintance and I think Mrs. Jennings, especially, would run with that and be like EW DARCY EW.
That being said, he’d have nothing but good things to say about Mr. Bingley, so Darcy will still be able to show up to things, b/c Bingley gets all the invites. :D
That makes total sense!!! Hahaha! I hadn't even thought of that angle, but I think you're dead on bc Brandon's word is gospel with the Middletons and Mrs Jennings tbh HAHAHA And just yes. Also, Darcy basically ~does get to fly by on the coattails of Bingley's kindness tbh but I'm not sure he actually appreciates that bc ewwww parties and dancing like who wants to have fun???? What a waste of time. Jk, jk But, anyway, if we're starting them off as only having met once before, do you think we're about ready to start, since there isn't much backstory to plot out? Hahah! Unless we wanna cover how their meeting in London went? ~insert SNOBBISH DARCY SNOBBISM
ooc | Brandon & Darcy
Haha, ommggg!! (perf to go right with your lovely summary of it <333)
But okay, so the setting is basically a mashed up town place with all the estates neighboring each other — although I don’t think Pemberley is around here since it’s kinda important to P&P that Darcy (and friends) are from out of town. So they aren’t neighbors, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have met before???? If they haven’t met, I feel like Brandon has def heard about Darcy and is like wow this guy is the man (until he meets him, yay). But yeah, if they have met and they’ve gone through the ups and downs that comes with meeting Darcy, then they’d be like awesome friends??? So basically we could still do either, I just don’t know which we should do??
OMMMMGGGG LIZZY THIS SO HARD bc they'd be suuuuch awesome friends and like I can see them like OMG WUT IS WITH SOME OF THESE PEOPLE together and like comparing notes on Lizzy/Marianne BUUUUT omg can't you just imagine them first meeting and like ~Darcy fail and Brandon's just like OMG WUT IS UP WITH THIS DUDE and Darcy's like ~I do not have the gift of making conversation with strangers~ and basically everyone's all ???!!!??!!?????? Except Bingley. Bingley is awesome. And their friendship honestly contributes to the ???!!!??!!?????? as a result tbh BUT ANYWAY I would love either tbh, so if you have a preference, let's go with that. If not...hmmm...I guess we could say that since Darcy's never been to these parts they're strangers? idk. Thoughts?
ooc | Fanny & Darcy
So wow — Fanny is probably constantly sucking up to Darcy. And I think that Georgiana would basically be the grand prize as far as her brothers’ marriages go. (Although Fanny would def settle for Caroline or Emma or one of the Bertram girls). But either way, Fanny wants to make sure that she’s on Darcy’s good side and basically just wants to hang out with him all the time and enjoy the splendors of Pemberley and get free handouts. And I’m sure she’s Darcy’s favorite person evvveeerr. ;DDD
OMMMMMGGGGGG dude Fanny is far and away Darcy's FAVORITE person like he just lives for hang sessions with her. OMG tho he'd be sooooo cutting towards her. Bc to him, she is the worst sort of parasite the misfortunes of their social system attract who brownnose for favors and cast off those in need of their pity. Her behavior towards the Dashwood girls would, to his mind, be unforgivable and he would honestly keep hitting that dead horse whenever it even faintly came up. Weirdly, I can actually see Edward/Georgiana being a good thing, but if Darcy were asked merely on acquaintance with Fanny, he would insist that he would never give his consent to such a union. THIS WILL BE SUCH A DISASTER <33333333 But at the same time, if Georgiana's present, or he's at Pemberley, he's more gallant than usual bc that's his comfort zone and he's the host, so if she were there, he be a little more (grudgingly) polite and just I can't even HAHAHAHAH
ooc | Brandon & Darcy
So ugh, I keep going back and forth for these two?? Like on one hand I can see them being friends and basically brooding in a corner together while they plot the death of Willougbhy and Wickham. ;DD jk jk but like I really do think that they’d def get on well if they knew each other, but that’s a big if b/c Darcy here isn’t so social and I can see where if Brandon met him like at the assembly (or at a ball/gathering/dinner where he behaved pretty much like that) where Brandon would get the wrong impression of him?? And like he’d always be super polite/gentlemanly even if he’s inwardly thinking “total ass alert”?? IDK THOUGHTS???
Total Ass Alert: alt title for Pride & Prejudice lbr ;DDDDD Duuuuuude, this is so not cool bc I can legit see it going either way as well?????? I think, regardless, Darcy would respect Colonel Brandon bc he's an awesome dude but Darcy himself...I guess it'd depend on how long they've known each other? Like if they're just meeting, we all know what a wonderful first impression Darcy gives but we also know he kinda grows on one with time. Which brings me to the question of what the setting is? Like are they all gathering in Bath? Is this a made up mish-mash location where all their estates essentially border each other? Something else? Bc if, say, they're neighbors, well, they probs go hunting together and like talk about...heifers or idk whatever it is landowners talk about and basically have a friendship going and like high five over unrequited love basically ;DDDD Or if they're in a new neighborhood and just meeting, Darcy's probs his cold, barely civil self. So yeah. Hahah! Thoughts?
OOC | Darcy & Lizzy
Darcy: looks longingly Elizabeth: Darcy: Elizabeth: quips Darcy: says something insulting
OOC | Darcy & Bingley
alsdfjla;lajslfjafd!!! Headcannon accepted. ;DDD idk Charles is kinda stupid he really only should have taken Darcy with him no one likes Caroline and the Hursts ew. ;DDD (except for Charles b/c he’s like the nicest guy ever)
But CAN WE TALK ABOUT THESE TWO B/C MY HEART UGHHHH. Like I feel like Charles’ parents died when he was fairly young and I feel like his dad wasn’t a very good father. I don’t think he could really be bothered by his kids until they were older and I feel like Charles was so lost before Darcy came along and like headcannon that Darcy helped Charles take care of his affairs/basically taught him how to run his estate. And like Charles does know Darcy well enough not to listen to him on everything (otherwise Charles would have zero friends probs ;D) but on the important things Darcy’s word is law, man, b/c he’s never, ever led Charles astray before and like he’s the big brother Charles never had and DON’T LOOK AT ME I’M HERE SOBBING IN A CORNER.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LIZZY I AM NOT OK OVER HERE THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF OK because Bingley knows all Darcy's secrets: Bingley keeps Darcy sane. I feel as if they NEED each other just to be balanced, to be right and true and direct and not just go off the deep end. Bingley keeps Darcy from going all James Caldwell and retiring entirely from the public view to haunt Pemberley; Darcy prevents others from taking advantage of Bingley's compassion. And they keep each other human, imo. Darcy needs someone to reason with him, sometimes, to encourage him. He will ALWAYS be there to guard Bingley's best interests and his own sense and efficiency keeps Pemberley running smoothly, but I think when it comes to raising a sister, or handling an overbearing aunt, or simply enjoying the Meryton town ball to some measure, Bingley's the one he looks to, to advise him, to gently prod him in the right direction. HEADCANON ACCEPTEDDDDDD!!!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!! Ok, so, timing-wise, do you think they would've met before, after, or right around the time that things went south with Wickham? Because I can't remember if Bingley recognized Wickham by anything other than his name? If he did, and Bingley was there for Darcy at that time, I can definitely see it strengthening their relationship. On the other hand, if they met later, telling him about it definitely would've been a great sign of ~trust, etc., since he obv doesn't throw that knowledge around. Ughhhh, Darcy'd be only happy to help him out, tooooo! Like I can't even because he wouldn't judge Bingley, at all (he'd judge his father silently tho tbh), he'd just be all, "This is how it is," like taking him around the estate, showing him how Pemberley runs, going out to Bingley's own to take a look I CAN TOTALLY PICTURE THIS LKADSJFKLDJSKLJ Meanwhile, Caroline tries to seduce him...o.0 Hahahha! (All while his aunt wants him for sickly Anne - Darcy's love life, man.)
