So like... Anyone else think reverse racism is a thing..? Like I'm just the person to live by common sense and respect. Like any race can be the victim of racism/prejudice/discrimination... Why is there so much denial on reverse racism?

A lot of people deny it because they see it as “just racism”, which I agree and disagree. I think reverse racism describes a more specific form of racism that is used towards the majority race in society. In western society, that means casual racism towards whites.

Then, of course, you have the assholes who deny it’s possible to be racist towards white people because “power + prejudice” or whatever fucking revisionist defining of the term. Those people are particularly dangerous, and not just because they’re racist. It’s the fact that they have a strongly accepted cover for their racism: the past oppression of black people and others in the western world. Never mind that we are the most progressive civilizations on Earth in regards to racism!

In short, there is denial of racism towards white people because people have become convinced that racism doesn’t mean racial prejudice.

How Trigger Warnings Are Hurting Mental Health on Campus

This is why over-use of trigger warnings are bad. People are just becoming MORE sensitive to things.

As a person who is an abuse survivor who suffers from PTSD, I actually really agree with this. I can’t always avoid every aspect of the world that makes me uncomfortable. I learn to cope, and I can vent if need be. The “trigger warning” troop really needs to learn a valuable lesson in life. 

You can’t always live in fear. It broods an unhealthy state of mind, and you shouldn’t let it cripple you. You can learn to heal, build immunity to those words and find your inner strength.

That trauma does not have to be part of you.

There’s a reason why it’s called ‘exposure therapy’ for helping disorders that cause distress on seeing a trigger (phobias and trauma disorders alike.) Heavily avoiding your triggers will only make you far more susceptible to them when you inevitably run into them again.

What’s everyone’s opinion on this little controversial gem? The PC police will be out in force no doubt, the SJWs and LGBT community will be outraged and feel ‘oppressed’ is my guess.

My opinion is this: There is only so much you can physically change about yourself through gender reassignment surgery, plastic surgery and hormone treatment. You may well identify as a women but physiologically and biologically you’re still a man. With your overall build being stronger and broader and a higher bone density, it makes no difference what you identify as, you’re still going into a fight with an advantage over your opponent. This is grossly unfair. And anyone who wants to be outraged by it are free to their opinion, but it is just that - an opinion. And your opinions do not trump the simple and basic facts of human biology.

Special Snowflakes/Trigger Warning Bullshit

Unpopular Opinion #1 "Stop Triggering Me" This new culture of being offended by anything and everything is really getting out of hand. Instead of telling people to deal with things the way the generation before them did, universities, schools, local government and even the actual government have caved to almost every one of these ridiculous demands. University professors are now being censored in what they can and cannot teach in a class because there may be some special snowflake in the room 'triggered' by a word, a phrase or an idea. Safe spaces are being built for those who feel they need them... I just can't even understand this. For years we have all had to deal with life and all its struggles and hardships along with all the happiness and successes. Now, the special snowflakes want the happiness and success without having to deal with all of lifes struggles, that make us stronger and give us the tools we need to live in the big bad world. Let's be honest, Tumblr has a lot to answer for. The majority of the special snowflakes can be found here. They have no issues whatsoever in posting their opinions on what they dislike. Often this includes insults directed at those they feel 'oppress' them. So taking shots at straight white men is fine. Anyone not of colour. Men. The list goes on. This is all ok. But they DEMAND everyone else now use 'trigger warnings' or 'content warnings' on things they feel will upset the special snowflakes. They dance the double standard dance all day long thinking that those they THINK oppress them have no feelings, therefore they can say what they like about them. But now everyone must include 'trigger warnings' for all sorts of ridiculous things. I seen a post a few weeks ago, which I'll try to find again and reblog, in which a conversation was taking place between a few people. They were discussing their enjoyment of snorkelling. Sounds pretty innocent, right? Nope. A special snowflake then reblogged the entire thread to reprimand these people that they should be including content warnings on this topic. Why? Because she had a friend whose father drowned while snorkelling. While this is indeed sad, it is certainly not up to the rest of the world to know this fact. If someone can be that upset over other people talking about a common hobby, they should remove themselves from the Internet instead of demanding everyone else tiptoe around them. It's become so widespread now that trigger warnings are being demanded for everything and anything. And those who do not agree are mean, cruel assholes trying to oppress the special snowflakes. By giving in to these people, everyone is setting them up for a big fall. Out in the big bad world there are no 'content warnings'... So if this generation make them the norm and the next generation grow up being protected from every little 'microaggression', when they go out into the world, we will have a generation of pussies and whiners who will be unable to cope without their blanket of protection. Stop encouraging this. We have all grown up without being shielded from all the little things we might not like. Lots of people have experienced horrible things and have managed to get through life without demanding they never hear anyone mention the thing that upsets them. The divide exists because of people such as these. Yes a minority of white people are prejudiced against other races. I'll get that out the road right away.

But, if it weren't for the constant stream of comments from black people talking about privilege and slaves and oppression, how many white people would even be thinking about it? They wouldn't. They'd see their black colleague as their colleague. Their black Facebook friend as their Facebook friend. Their black neighbour as their neighbour. There would be so much less animosity were it not for the fact white people are now being constantly told how they should acknowledge their 'their privilege' and stop 'appropriating black culture' etc.

Yes, bad things happened. All our ancestors were either victims or abusers. But it's not us who continue to use it to judge living breathing people right now.

Officer Fatally Shoots Woman Carrying Ax

Police of Tennessy released graphic body-cam footage that shows an officer fatally shooting Laronda Sweatt, 40, who police claim had already attacked a Sumner County sheriff’s deputy with an ax.

“In the video, which was captured from a camera on officer James Spray’s vest as well as other footage from another officer, Spray is seen telling a woman wielding an ax to stop approaching multiple times, then Spray is seen shooting the woman,” the newspaper reports.

Sweatt’s daughter, Alainna Sweatt, told The Tennessean that the police released “half of the story that the police wants you to see.”

“Before they start judging, people should see the entire, unedited video so they can make their own conclusions,” Alainna Sweatt, 22, told the newspaper. “This is not doing my mother any justice. She was not a person who was out there to attack police officers. She was provoked.”
