HI EVERYONE! IT’S BEEN A MILLION YEARS AND I STILL LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL DEARLY. IF YOU READ THIS THEN PLS FIND ME ON MY PERSONAL CITHEWURLD <3
To all !!
I’m happy to say that some of my greatest and most unforgettable memories were on dare. It was literally one of the most wonderful gems of my life, not just because I loved writing it but because the people that brought their characters to life were so unmistakably fantastic, loyal and wonderful. I got through plots that came out of nowhere, we solved mysteries I didn’t even know existed and I winged it more times than I ever have in my life. All those nights and days of being on the cusp of roleplay disaster were more than worth it because dare brought me my favourite characters and although I wrote them, I definitely didn’t bring them to life.
I learned so many lessons about being in the face of tough decisions. I cried actual tears on more than one occasion (and I’m a pretty stone cold gal). I loved and I lost and bizarrely I feel like the friends I made here were closer to my heart than some people that I’ve met in real life so if any of you are still out there I want to thank you for all the time and energy that you spent with me during that period of your life and every word that you typed, every graphic you made and every gif that you searched long and hard for.
Not only will dare always be a piece of me but so will you. This isn’t anon love. This is just all round love. Thank you all. There’s too many mains so if you happen to want to comment on anything then there’s this blog (which I made to cry and reblog some old old tasks you all wrote very well on).
Sorry I haven’t been here, the last week of my life has been crazy but I go back to work tomorrow so we should get back on track. If I haven’t replied about anything then I’m getting to it later tonight. Thanks everyone and happy new year!!
THURSDAY 29TH DECEMBER
The days are all blurring together.
Once you spent Christmas at Whittemore you ran out of hope that you were going to leave at all. Your parents can’t help you because someone has to pay for breaking the rules and nobody will confess. Tensions are higher than ever and you’re just about to rip the next person who irritates you head off.
Naughty and nice lists keep reappearing around school no matter how many time you tear them up and you’re starting to think it’s a sick joke. The headmaster is officially the Grinch that stole Christmas but the plot twist is that he hasn’t been seen since the 23rd of December.
Even the nicest of teachers seem angry now and you don’t blame them, you don’t want to be stuck with the rest of these stupid kids for the remainder of the holidays with no family and no gifts.
Only one thing is going to get you out of here and that’s finding the keys. Or at least, finding someone to say they took the keys.
Christmas is over but you can tell this is not.

Name: Milo McClain
Age: Nineteen
(+): Courageous, Clean, Humble
(-): Abrupt, Busy, Unchanging
INTRODUCTION:
Wolves run in packs but you never did. You always knew too much but you weren’t interested. Anything you could get your hands on you could fix. They never taught you that wasn’t going to be the same with feelings. Always so busy, tied up in your own thoughts. A tidy work space makes tidy thoughts. You don’t like it when people mess with that and you don’t like it when people mess with you. Patience is a virtue that you don’t possess. Maybe if you weren’t always so busy then you would of been paying more attention to your family but that isn’t an option. Stick your nose into another project, little boy, it’s a lot easier to finish that than what your parents started.
This role was written as a plot device/NPC.

THURSDAY 22ND DECEMBER
The key doesn’t turn up.
Nobody seems to have any idea where it is and you’re certainly not going to volunteer yourself as tribute, in fact, you half believe that by the end of the day someone will hand them over for the sake of Christmas break. You don’t see why anyone would want to spend the entire holiday period here.
You haven’t seen the headmaster since his Monday morning announcement, in fact, you start to find it a little weird when by the end of Thursday afternoon he’s been totally absent for three days now. It’s all a little too convenient.
It happens when you’re sleeping.
You barely recognise the sound because it has belonged only in story books for your entire life (at least for most of you). The sound of bells and a stranger lurking around at night isn’t one that you would associate with anything more than a mere prank so you stay in bed and wait for it to pass.
Sleep it off.
FRIDAY 23RD DECEMBER
Friday comes with no news of keys.
In fact, at this point you’re starting to think that it doesn’t even matter. If nobody’s around to reinforce the search then you get to go anyway, right?
It’s halfway through this thought that you find something pinned to your door, a disastrously coloured piece of paper that you think is some kind of joke. A naughty or nice list.
Assembly is called too fast for questions to be asked about this stupid prank.
The headmaster is gone and you expect that with Mr Moore standing in for him that there will be leniency but there is none, “Unless the keys are returned nobody leaves.”
The Mayor’s here this time, his gaze is fleeting. You don’t know what this all means but you do know that someone here is to blame for spending Christmas at Whittemore and it’s not going to be you.
can we have a gossip blog?
You may still send in questions to the old gossip blog if you want. The only difference will be that until I update the tagging system if I answer questions it will be tagged with characters full names (unless they are gen 1).
MONDAY 19TH DECEMBER
While you’re waiting for inevitable doom everything seems too good to be true. The headmaster doesn’t say a word. Your fellow house parents don’t seem to crack even a sly smirk about what you’ve been up to. You almost start to think you’ve gotten away clean. Almost.
In the middle of first period you’re surprised to hear the crackle of an intercom, the firm voice of a headmaster you were sure wasn’t onto you. Nothing makes you dread the rest of the day more than being summoned for an impromptu assembly a week before Christmas. You immediately assume someone’s going down and looking around you know everyone else is just hoping that it won’t be them.
It’s not what you think. It’s worse.
“Someone has swiped the keys to the main school house. Until they’re returned Christmas break is on hold.”
You can’t believe it. Or maybe you can. He really doesn’t have a spare set? What about the mayor? You start to look around, you’re looking for someone to take the blame. It wasn’t you, right? Even if it was then you’re definitely not owning up. Is this even legal? You don’t know but even if you deny it you’re pretty sure he’s serious.
Somebody is guilty but are they going to take the blame?
You will notice that the start up post is formatted in a different way to previous versions of dare or other roleplays. This will be a reoccuring theme throughout DARE revival. This version will all be a little different. Please read the start up prompt to understand your characters current stance. You may post starters using the same old darestarter tag. Nothing has changed. Please go to the housing list and follow everybody, otherwise, you may post starters in the tag from now set on the Morning of Sunday 18th. Please remember, for those of you who were not involved in dare 1.0, this is a boarding school and most of these students do not leave at weekends.
SATURDAY 17TH DECEMBER 2016.
There’s something wrong with your school. Ever since you can remember the teachers have been a little bit off. The headmaster never seems to get to the point. Even the other teachers stay out of his way. Him and his limp. The mayor hangs around the school breaking into a sweat and everyone knows it’s over something besides his kids. And the noise -- the God damn whirring noise -- it keeps getting louder. The more time passes the worse it gets. Everyone can hear it, everyone knows it’s there, somewhere beneath the floor of the main school house something is going on and nobody seems to want to tell you what. This wasn’t in the brochure.
Some mysteries aren’t meant to be solved. But nobody told you that, did they? The great debate of whether or not you should dig up the answers is the only thing that’s ever pulled together your peers and one night when you all band together to go on a hunt you find yourself standing outside the door to the basement. A hidden world. Pictures of people you thought you knew as teachers as students, the sound louder than ever, like it’s about to explode. That blue light beneath the door is equal parts terrifying and amazing. Some want to know what’s behind the door and some want to leave. Secrets are dangerous.
Nobody gets to make that call. The Mayor appears and suddenly you know that you’re going to be in big trouble. It’s only a matter of time before the head master hears, everyone knows that bad behaviour gets punished, but you can’t help but wonder, even if you shake it off, what the hell is behind that door?
SUNDAY 18TH DECEMBER 2016, 8AM.
The way you felt, your escape plan, the way out.
There’s only six days before your parents come pick you up but the Christmas holidays won’t last forever. This problem isn’t going away. Especially not this Morning.
Read about it beneath the cut if you DARE.

Name: Rose Hammond
House: Kenilworth
(+): Fair, Kind, Forgiving
(-): Over involved, Pushy, Gossip
INTRODUCTION:
By far the most favourable teacher. You know that she cries over reruns of the Notebook at a certain time of the month and forces someone unfortunate to sit through it with her but out of the four houses hers is probably the safest. You’re not afraid of her, well, not really. You’ve heard stories about crazy trainwreck events and literal car wrecks but she’s never driven and so you decide maybe they were just rumours. The musical is her territory, anything drama related, including what goes on between the students. If you could say anything bad about her it’d probably be that she’s too nosy, always getting her head stuck in other people’s business. You decide that you’d prefer a teacher that gossips about you to the other options and that’s just that. A little push never hurt anyone, right?

Name: Justin Moore
House: Dudley
(+): Friendly, Interested, Genuine
(-): Overbearing, Pandering, Hesitant
INTRODUCTION:
He acts like he’s your friend but he can’t be. He’s a teacher. There’s something weirdly desperate about it, like he’s trying to prove to someone or something that he’s there for you. And he is. He’s always there. Through thick and thin with dedication that rivals your own parents. This man will catch you when you fall, this man will wait at your door when you’re in a bad mood, this teacher will set up your lunch date with your parents. He tries. It’s almost too much. You want to tell him that he’s not your buddy, that you can’t hang out, that you aren’t going to be best friends for life, but you don’t know how. In fact, it’s almost frustrating at times how easy it is to get around him as if he already forgave you for your mistakes before you made them. You need authority but instead you get glaring silence and hesitant indifference to your wrongdoing. It’s almost like he’s just another student.

House: Maxstoke
(+): Fun, Understanding, Interesting
(-): Blunt, Unprofessional, Scary (sometimes)
INTRODUCTION:
Her door is always open but nobody wants to go in there. Advice is served cold in one way or another, sometimes in words or literally in a bottle. This woman is a dragon and she doesn’t look like anything less in all her glory. Nobody has heard about her husband in years and six months ago her wedding band disappeared altogether -- any questions are disregarded due to fear of the bite that might be given back. She may be a house Mother but she’s not the kind of parent that you’ve ever experienced. Everyone remembers the screaming fight she had with the headmaster a year ago and you hold your breath when you have to ask her for something, a bad mood means a bad day for everyone involved. If you like the hot and cold treatment then she’s perfect, and if you don’t, she’s beautifully terrifying.
INFORMATION:
Name: Tyson King
House: Warwick
(+): Dedicated, Omniscient, Courageous
(-): Strict, Mysterious, Aloof
INTRODUCTION:
Nobody’s allowed to know him. Office door always shut. Even his own nephews don’t have anything to say about who he is. It starts to seem like more of a case of who he was. You hear the teachers talk about the Angel they used to know and you can’t put two and two together. A few dusty photographs of a blonde with a sloppy grin that are hidden in corners, a few badly lit party photographs scattered on social media. One rich man. A medical marvel. You read online articles about him behind your peers back. Tragic legacy. Adopted son of rich investors. Adoptive family brutally murdered in his own home. You’re afraid of him because he’s still alive. You don’t want to know what that kind of pain does to somebody. Or how he got that limp. His rules are not negotiable.
psa: dare revival will be opening on saturday 17th of december 2016. a more specific time will be set tomorrow night but the metaphorical ribbon will most likely be cute around 7EST.
Look, it's a great RP. Who's to say that these weren't said at some point?
