To my great dismay, dear Miss Genevieve and Miss YT recently departed our shared home in search of new adventures in the wilds of northern Washington state. They will be sorely missed and never forgotten by this humble feline. I am eternally grateful for the time we shared together.

However, through the dim of my dismay to see my bons amis leave, a silver lining emerged. Our household's vicissitude progressed, adding two new residents: the good Dr. Katz and Lindsay.

This development is quite significant, you see, as Lindsay is the partner of my dear companion, Winx, and Dr. Katz and I have had a blossoming long-distance romance for several months now. Indeed, love is in the air at our quaint homestead. Love, and still plenty of naps.

While Miss YT and I are generally amiable companions, we most definitely have differing personalities.

I've come to believe that there is nothing so truly relaxing as pets just prior to nap time.

I've become somewhat well known for my signature stance. I'm told it captures my gentlemanly side.

The staircase at Sugar Den is useful for many purposes! Miss YT enjoys running about on the steps with her toys, I very much enjoy napping upon the stairs, and we both have spent many an hour watching the neighborhood goings-on through the window they face.

Our new abode also has carpeted bedrooms and stairs. This, of course, means that when the sun moves too high for the window sill, I need simply to climb down and position myself comfortably on the floor for continued napping.

Our household recently relocated to a nearby neighborhood and took residence in an estate known as Sugar Den. I have become especially fond of this window in Winx's room; the sunshine allows for the most perfectly warm and comforting naps! :3

Thanks to her friend and employer, Winx has added some impedimenta to her much favored avocation of comparing me to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Being viewed as equal to the sacrosanct detective and doctor (in addition to partaking in the complementary treats that accompany our photoshoots) is an evening activity I'll be eager to repeat!

I regret to not have posted these festive photographs sooner. (It seems I let the stresses of the season catch up to me!) Nonetheless, Winx and I--and everyone else at Borthwick Manor, for that matter--wish you all a belated season's greetings and happy new year!

My trusted companion and I spent our Yule in the country again. We journeyed out to her parents' homestead and spent two weeks being lavished with food and attention! Between the sardines, ham, roast, eggs, bacon, and cream (alongside my regular meals), I, for one, returned a bit more ample than I'd left!

Being on holiday at Winx's parents' home simply cannot be beat.

Winx has assured me that I look rather dapper in my new bowler hat. And just between you and I, I can't deny feeling rather pleased with my appearance upon donning it. :3

And, of course, no week is complete without its share of the delightfully decadent naps I so enjoy. :3

I chanced upon another new experience just this evening. I've never been able to call myself a habitue of the ever-tempting top shelf within Winx's closet, and it has often vexed me that my far younger and sprier companion--the good Miss YT-- is able to make the leap from our scratching tower to the shelf. However, with Winx's assistance I was at last able to surmount the wardrobe and spend a portion of the evening enjoying the view. So pleased was I, that I hardly had all four paws atop the shelf before the purrs came pouring out!

For reasons unknown to me, before this last week, I had never occasioned to sit in a laundry basket. My dear friends, let me just say, this is an experience I hope to soon relive!
