I know I reviewed one single thing and then disappeared. That's typical of me, lmao. But I watched People We Meet on Vacation the other day and have some thoughts. Perhaps I will post them in the next couple of days...

Seems very cute so far, very excited to kick my feet and giggle at it.
Got 3 chapters in and have been giggling and kicking my feet ALMOST constantly.
I think I'm at chapter 6 now and I haven't stopped giggling and kicking my feet for a single second yet. So far, HIGHLY recommend if you like to giggle and kick your feet at cute books. Will update if this changes.
Hi, it's my new blog for reviews.
Anyway, I'm on chapter 11 now and listen. I am an extremely physical and emotional reactor to media. The Lorax makes me sob uncontrollably. Finishing Minecraft for the first time a few years ago put me in bed for the rest of the day. Music gives me goosebumps constantly. I'm the ideal person to make content for. I love to consume it and allow myself to fully enter that world and suspend my disbelief so hard that I give myself whiplash. I love when media makes me feel something. I love to feel emotions!!! Especially good ones!!!
When I say this book has made me giggle and kick my feet just about every other page of this book, I'm not kidding. It's like a drug. I was tempted to record myself reading a chapter last night just because my body starts to act out of my control when cute things happen - I start fist pumping and silent screaming and rolling around. I didn't expect to enter a fucking master work of romcom when I started this book.
It's so good. I've been really deep into the fantasy/romantasy world for a while now, and The Love Hypothesis has been such a refreshing, light, adorable read, absolutely perfect for melting away the rest of the world and just making me feel like I'm in a cute little university Starbucks.
I'm am beginning to get that sinking gut feeling because I know that eventually I'm going to finish it and it's going to end. I really don't want it to. :(
But the show must go on, and I must continue to G&KF. (Giggle and Kick Feet.)
Okay, up to chapter 15.
Let me get critical. No real spoilers, but I am going to go a little more in depth here.
The highs in this book are SUPER high, especially if you just kind of ignore the qualities in the FMC that make you want to shake her. (Her almost magnetism to misunderstandings. She LOVES a good misunderstanding. But if you accept that as part of her personality and just gloss over it, it's great.)
It's predictable, but in a way that the author intended it to be. Each chapter actually starts off with a little ditty that lays the foundation for what's going to happen. It's on purpose. It allows you to get excited. But still... if you've seen one romcom, you've seen them all, am I right? AND I LOVE THEM ALL most of them. The formulas work for a reason. And this book does it well. Still, worth a mention I think. Because!
The conflicts I've now encountered, one in particular... this is one part where the predictability really worked against itself. It felt like way too much, way too fast. I wish there would have been at the very least more of a build up because it really felt copied and pasted from a lot of other romcom types. And besides one single line from one single character, totally out of nowhere.
I was excited for the same type of whole-body intense reaction to whatever the big-bad was going to be, but I kinda just went "Oh. So we're going this route?" And slogged through that chapter.
So yeah. "Predictable bad part felt less good than predictable good parts" I guess is what I'm getting at here.
Still excited to keep going. It has been knocked down a peg for me. VERY excited to get back to some good parts.
FINAL REVIEW
I'm going to give it OOOOC
That's four and a half Os.
I wish I would have written this immediately upon finishing the book, but I got distracted. It's been a couple days. And the way my brain works is basically I am a goldfish and forget everything almost immediately after doing it. But I'll give it a shot!
The quickish review is that the first third had me giggling and kicking my feet absolutely non-stop. The middle third didn't quite lose me... but it lost the grip a little bit. Final third pulled me back in enough that I was thoroughly enjoying myself in the end. My Libby app said I had a decent little percentage left of the book, so I was extremely disappointed when I turned a page and saw "Epilogue" pop up. I wanted it to keep going!! All in all, very cute little romance.
