Anyways my LAST MINUTE RUSHED theory for Canto 9 is that Ryoshus mother is the Lord from Hell Screen. But in the context of limbus she's the lord of the spider house. little explanation below cut

I have a STRONG feeling that she's going to be partially based on the Tsuchigumo from the tale Tsuchigumo Shōshi. A spider yokai that disguised itself as a woman who was the head of a manor filled with demons and apparitions, with the story ending with the Tsuchigumo slain and her manor being burned down

My main reasoning for this being that since Ryoshu has tons of spider symbolism it wouldnt be too far off that her own parents might have some of their own.

and this is admittedly a reach but the fact that Ryoshu resembles the silhouette of her mother in her seasonal EGO and there's a horde of demons chilling on the side of the ego art. Most likely a reference to the demons on the infamous hell painting for Yoshihide but may be a reference to any 'demons' under her mother employ

Again this is a reach that could die on the spot the moment any of Ryoshu's parental figures show up but, wilder things have happened in project moons reinterpretation of literary characters
