“None of us do.”
His wife is among this man’s comrades, that much he knows. He and Jane are, technically speaking, enemies at this moment. There is something about that statement that he knows would please his father. But the importance of pleasing Odin has grown less and less meaningful in these last years.
There was a difference between doing what was lawful and doing what was right. And at this moment, he was not sure which side he was actually on.
“But what choice is there, really?” He swung Jarnbjorn, hoping the boy’s instincts would protect him.
At that cryptic reply, Tyrone couldn’t help but loft his eyebrows. He might have pointed out the hypocrisy (because wasn’t Thor on attack the literal definition of trouble?), but Cloak didn’t get a chance before the Asgardian swung a giant freaking axe in his direction.
Erring on the side of caution, Ty flared backward, putting as much distance between himself and the former Avenger as possible. Part of him wanted to just open his cloak and swallow Thor into the depths of the Darkforce Dimension, see how he fared against demons and abominations. But the guy was talking, and he sounded like maybe he wasn’t enjoying this situation any better than Tyrone was.
Cloak held up his hands in a placating manner, but his words were hard “...Hey... we all gotta choice. Or we did, until this registration act took it from us. You really think this hell-hole is where our people belong?”
John Legend | Love Me Now
Something inside us knows there's nothing guaranteed Yeah, girl, I don't need you to tell me that you'll never leave, no When we've done all that we could to turn darkness into light, turn evil to good Even when we try so hard for that perfect kind of love, it could all fall apart.. And who's gonna kiss you when I'm gone? Oh I'm gonna love you now, like it's all I have And I know it'll kill me when it's over I don't wanna think about it, I want you to love me now Love me Now

She always seems so tiny next to him. Next to anyone, honestly. For all Tandy tried to make up for it with her attitude, she could still be almost too aware of how petite she was. Sometimes it was an advantage – such as the times when her adversaries might underestimate her for it – while others it might be irritating.
And then there were still other times where even if she was very aware of it, it didn’t really bother her at all.
“Hey, there has to be something I’m better at than you.” She laughed, placing her free hand gently on his shoulder. “Swaying it close enough anyway.”
She closed her eyes as Ty pulled her closer, leaning into her partner as they moved and letting her other senses take over. The sound of the music playing, the smell of food cooking and the traces of a brimstone like scent from the Darkforce Dimension that probably clung to them both a bit and had become almost pleasant to Tandy over the years.
It was an unconventional life, to be certain, but she wouldn’t trade it, or the moments like this that comprised it, for anything else.
To Tyrone, the slight weight of Tandy leaning into him feels like a reprieve, warmth curling through the taller man's chest as he holds her to him. Her pale hair against his cheek is warm and silken, the pulse he can feel in her temple a reassurance. The pair move together with an easy familiarity, synchronicity born of years fighting side by side. For a brief time, there are no gang wars, no registration act, no relentless hunger. It's just Ty and Tandy and the unspecified steps of a dance they've both been engaged in for far too long... On impulse, Tyrone tips his nose into Tandy's vibrant hair, letting the curve of his lips press against her temple. He tries to mask the kiss by ducking his head further, but there is no cloak hood to hide in this time. Eventually, the song fades from the radio. The curry scent of simmering meat reminds them both that their food is waiting. Ty mentally weighs out the worth of a burnt dinner for one more moment in Dagger's arms. It is an easy decision...

He’d been sent as a registered asset. He’d been sent to fight against people who wanted the same thing as him.
I do not want to be here.
And yet here he was, Jarnbjorn heavy in his grip despite the uru that should have made holding it feel effortless. His eyes fell on a form that was vaguely familiar, the figure in the cloak. Grimacing, Thor launched himself forward, willing himself to fall into the old fighting style he’d once so enjoyed.
Ty hadn’t come to Hart Island to fight. Not really.
His presence was meant to be a means to an end. An escape route, if passing through the darkforce dimension can feel at all like escape. Teleportation was, perhaps, the most valuable asset a hero could have when so many of their allies were locked away in a secure facility. So of course Cloak had come when Captain America had raised the call-to-action. He’d even done so of his own volition, without any of the usual prompting by Tandy...
{Stupid, leaving her behind...}
And Ty had made good progress in infiltrating the facility. Locks and security scanners were pointless against a creature that didn’t need to walk through doors. But Cloak had known it would only be a matter of time before he was noticed. He just hadn’t expected them to send....
“...Thor?” The former hero’s name was as far as Tyrone got before the Asgardian leapt at him with a superhuman speed, taking Cloak further by surprise. On instinct, the shrouded figure pushed away from the prisoner he was intending to liberate and disappeared into the vanishing curl of his cape. He reappeared a heartbeat later, far off to one side and out of Thor’s line of fire.
“....I, uh.... I don’t want trouble, man...”
Cloak and Dagger #02 (1990)
“I can hold her hand in mine -- feel its softness -- sense the light within her -- but I cannot know her as a man would. That has been denied me by the fact of what I am -- the shadow of a man, wrapped about a dark and nameless void.”
Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Cloak and Daredevil are taken as hostages by Baron Mordo.

ladyxlight:
“People need to learn that things are never that simple.” No matter how much they might seem that way. Tandy had been through the arguments that stemmed from people’s simplistic assumptions about her and Ty far too many times for her liking.
“I guess that is true.” She smiled, nudging him back slightly. “And I can respect that level of rebellion.”
Tyrone rocked to one side, exaggerating the force of Tandy’s nudge with a low laugh. Rebellion would be the part that his partner appreciated, what with her own propensity for bucking the system.
“..I think...” Ty paused, sorting out his words, “... I think Captain America would understand us. Better than most, anyway....”
He’s heard the stories, seen the museum exhibit. Steve Rogers had been an undernourished street kid once, much like Tyrone. The fact that he’d volunteered for the experimental trial that led to his transformation didn’t make any difference. Life, (whatever life they’d both once known) changed irrevocably the day those drugs hit their bloodstream. Ty figured Cap understood what it was like to feel like a stranger in his own body.
“...anyway..” Ty shrugged, “People get a lot less judgmental anytime another global thread pops up...”

She can already tell from the look on Cloak’s face that he’s even more concerned with her situation now. And yeah, staying and having to move around a lot of different places didn’t exactly sound like an ideal situation for a 13-year-old child.
But Molly was used to making the best of things, no matter how bad things got. Although, she sometimes wondered if her refusal to acknowledge how screwed up things had been for her was causing more problems than it was solving.
“Thanks Cloak, I really appreciate it”, she said, smiling softly as she pulled out her own phone ready to take down his information. “I didn’t think someone like you had a phone, but I guess all superheroes have to have phones”.
From the shadows of his cape, Ty produced a cellphone. It wasn’t exactly a smartphone (a Nokia, the only brand that could withstand the Darkness), but it suited the hero’s needs without breaking his meager budget. Glancing up, Cloak grunted at Molly, clearly accustomed to people’s assumptions about him.
“--what I don’t have is that social media drivel. Facebook and Tweeter.... time wasting, all of it.” He muttered, squinting as the screen lit up. He recited off the number for his phone, gesturing for Molly to provide her own so he could save her as a contact.
“Remember, if you text me, I can be there instantaneously...” Glancing up over the top of his device, the cloak man asked curiously, “...what were you doing out here, anyway?”
ladyxlight:
“Yeah, well, people suck.” Tandy sighed, leaning her head back with an exasperated sigh. “Still could hope there’d be more that weren’t so clueless though.”
People Suck. Tyron’s mouth twitched a bit in amusement. He couldn’t really argue that logic. He nodded instead, adding. “--Everyone likes to see things in black and white, right and wrong, good and evil. There’s no room for in-between...”
Kind of like how most people looked at them. The Angel and the Demon.
Reaching out, Ty poked Tandy’s arm lightly. “-- There’s the Captain. He’s changing minds, isn’t he? America’s hero standing up to the government?”
