not 100% Transformers related but that’s OK: I got asked for some self-teaching Russian tips!
so I’ve been asked by an Anon if I have any recommendations for self-teaching Russian!
I’ve been doing my best to teach myself as much as I can for a good while (despite my medical problems resulting in memory issues, so it’s not easy for me to recall vocabulary lmao)
which I post about on this blog occasionally, usually whenever I’m looking into Russian language Transformers content to help me learn and listen to more of the language via cartoons, as this is definitely helpful for me (especially to develop a sense of rhythm of speech)
but here are some legit recommendations for the anon who messaged me, as well as anyone else who might find it helpful! :)
Books for Absolute Beginners!
These three were really helpful for me personally, and if you have no familiarity with the Cyrillic alphabet whatsoever, I especially recommend Russian Script Hacking by Judith Meyer as a great intro to memorising the alphabet and gaining some primary writing and literacy skills.
Get Started In Russian progresses naturally from Russian Script Hacking, as they are part of the same overall series although they have different authors, and I recommend it for basic vocabulary and familiarising yourself with simple words and phrases.
The First Thousand Words book is designed for young children, but because I have serious memory problems, this book was great because it has a free online audio resource (which you can find here), and it reads each word in the book out loud, accompanied by the illustrations for memorising basic terms!
Online Russian Language Learning Resources
Workbooks and Audio!
I’ve found the Ruslan series to be God-tier for getting used to reading Cyrillic, gaining some more vocabulary, and they also have free audio to accompany their books on their site, available here!
You can get the first workbook in the series off of the Internet Archive here, and the textbook isn’t necessarily needed in order to get a lot out of it, so I recommend giving it a try! :)
YouTube is a Gold Mine
Here’s a master list of Learn Russian themed ASMR videos!
Here’s my personal playlist of a bunch of random Russian language or Russian learning videos that I’ve liked or found interesting!
Here’s a bunch of random Russian songs!
So that this is still relevant to put on my Transformers blog, some related YouTube content:
Cyberverse in Russian!
TFP in Russian!
TF 80s Movie in Russian!

Hopefully this stuff is helpful, to the kind Anon who messaged me (thank you for asking!) as well as anyone else who might be interested! :)
I’m on my lunch break right now so this isn’t as comprehensive as I’d like, but if I get the time later I’ll add some more resources here! :)
You can “see” the emotions in Florence, they’re all in the statues.
‘Rat Park’ -Stuart McMillen
You’ll never think about drug addiction the same way again after reading this comic.
What I found absolutely impressive and stunning about this comic is the way the artist explained the identification and elimination of the confounding factors in the Rat Park study. This is one of the hardest parts of experiments to explain to the public, and I think it was just brilliantly done.

Whatever you seek is seeking you.🌠
At this point of myself I thought that I would have already had someone I love, but it turns out that I am incapable of such thing. My trauma and my fears are much bigger than what I need. I have been longing for so long but I am undesirable. I keep trying over and over but keep escaping due to the fear of an unhappy ending, due to the emotional instability I have. I am lonely and I am trying/doing everything I can to fix it but is a constant list of failures. I wish I could say something or like someone again but I am to broken. I don’t understand the point of life if you can’t get what you need. Life is just pointless. I wish I could have had you but I was too afraid I let you go because I saw you are happier with someone else I hope you make them as happy and they make you feel the same as much as I wished to make you happy.
Sometimes I photoshop our fighters onto yorkies like they are riding them into battle.
This one might be my favorite. This one is also my Knight.
OP I hope you know you are doing god’s work
*gets hit with feelings i thought i was over with* mmm i see that we’re recycling now
I found a company called “Frantic Meerkat” who makes journals whose sole purpose is to call me out
This is by the Mincing Mockingbird guy (of “I’d sell you to satan for one corn chip” and “The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math” fame) and you can buy them here

Due to current world events, you may be experiencing depression or severe anxiety. If that’s the case, I am sorry. You are not alone, and you DO matter, even though you may not feel that way right now. It’s good that you’re in the world, I promise.
Three Graces
Roman copy of the Imperial Era (2nd century AD) after a Hellenistic original.
The three Graces dance naked in a circle, each resting a hand on the shoulder of another. Their robes are draped over a pair of vases standing to either side.
