Adding onto your post about how weird it is for Kris to see our opinions on everybody, and even worse if they can feel a bit of what we feel on the Snowgrave route. Not just more terrifying, but more infuriating, too.
Because somehow, we know exactly which way to go, and exactly who we need. For some reason, despite possibly being kind to our enemies until now, now we start using their friend to slaughter everyone in sight. And they have to wonder, why now? Were we just laying in wait the whole time? Is this revenge for throwing us out? They don’t get any answers, but… they can feel what we feel.
Sometimes it’s shock. Regret. Fear. And that’s bad enough on its own. If something like US can feel fear, then… is something forcing us to do this? If so, what could it possibly be?
But no. As it goes on, they feel the emotions we feel above all. Boredom. Neutrality. Curiosity.
Sometimes they even hear a thought from us that scares them more than anything.
“This didn’t happen before.”
YES DUDE!!! The Snowgrave stuff is so complex and must fuck with Kris so much.
What you said about Kris wondering what is "forcing" us to this is actually so interesting, because most of us are actually following a guide when we do the weird route.
Like if they can sense us stop and ponder, reading over our "commands" and CHOOSING to follow them, even as disgust, fear and sadness flood us.... How could Kris even begin to understand what going on?
On top of having to dealing with their own horrible feelings, they would have to deal with ours too, sometimes even WE feel like we don't want to continue, the horrors of it being too much.... But no matter how much we hate it, we always keep going.... keep killing.
But even that is familiar to the soul. This endless killing is something the soul knows well... The discomfort is comfortable. There is a knowing the soul has, with each kill, each death. Despite the soul feeling horrible about what is happening, among the mild surprise that creatures are running from them there's also a knowing relief... a quick thought of "oh this will be easier."
And when Noelle starts talking of getting stronger most of us just nod along....... we know what means.
The player is also so much more involved in the snowgrave route. (well more then we already are) I wonder how fucking terrifying it is for Kris when WE call for help.
We didn't know we could that.... Kris's voice is not even their own anymore.... and even the soul is taken aback.
The thought that we could FULLY kick them out, use their body like vessel rather than as puppet and the only reason we didn't is because we didn't know we could, we weren't offered the option before?? Terrifying. Kris couldn't tear us out.... if there was no Kris. The only control they have over us, could be even weaker than they knew.
