A Long Time Gone || Snow and Diaval
Nearly as soon as the door to her cabin shut, she heard a man call her name. Looking up, she was shocked to see him. Diaval. She hadn’t recognized his voice, as he was much older now, but it was him. It had to be. She stared as he walked up to her, her jaw open in shock. She quickly closed it and grinned, then walked the rest of the way and hugged him.
"I’ve missed you.", she said softly as she held him close. "I’m sorry it’s been so long.", she murmured before letting go of him and stepping back, blushing from her actions. "How are you? I can’t believe it’s really you.", she said. "What do you do now? Where do you live? What are you now…twenty? You look so different, but I still recognize you."
Snow paused, laughing softly. “Sorry about all the questions, I just- I’m so glad to see you again. I’m here with Johanna, my guardian. I’m not sure if you remember her, but she used to be my nanny when I was young. We still own the cabin, and I thought it was finally time to come back. My parents…they’re gone, Diaval.”, she said in a near whisper. it was still hard for her to talk about it, even after so much time had passed. Snow didn’t know if he had seen the news in the papers or if he had known some other way, but she had to tell him.
It was definitely Snow since as soon as she was able to she wrapped him in a hug. Her hugs were always so warm and he could get lost in them if he chose to let himself. Even now he found himself hugging her back and noticing the changes that had occurred over their time apart. He smiled and stroked her hair gently as she rambled.
"I've missed you too, Snow." He said gently before she released him and stood back blushing. She was always the prettiest when she was blushing to him. "I'm fine. It really is me. I go to college, live in a dorm. Nineteen, actually, but who is counting? You haven't changed a bit either, Snow." He gave her a lopsided grin and ran a hand through his hair.
He changed his smile looking down at her. "It's alright. I'm used to your questions anyways and it's nice to hear you haven't lost them all." Finding out about her parents or rather hearing it from her caused the boy to draw her against him again in his own hug. "I've heard. I'm just glad that you're okay and have someone as good as Johanna to look after you."
