He was a little surprised by the snarky response. He couldn’t be too annoyed. It was exactly what he would say if he hadn’t been working towards being a polite upstanding citizen for the last few months. “Uh,” he pushed the chair into its place, taking a step back, “alright then. Sorry to bother you.”
Clare smiled at his reaction. It felt good to know that she could still catch people off guard so easily. But when she looked at his face, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt. Groaning, she pointed at the chair sitting across from her hoping the kid could figure things out without having to spell it out for him.
He’d turned eighteen. Remus’ worst fear since entering the system had come true in the last few months. Instead of being some sort of traumatic, life-altering event, it was like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He’d turned eighteen and he still had a family. He still had people that loved him and hadn’t left him. His talk with his mother, followed by apologizing to Jordan and Allison and finding a therapist he was comfortable with, had put him back to the right path. He was still a mess, he would probably never not be. But this time, at least, he was genuinely making an effort. “Hey,” wearing a boyish smile, he pulled out the empty chair beside of the person he’d approached. “Have room for one more?”
Clare wasn’t having a particularly rough day, but it certainly wasn’t great. She had gotten a call from her mother ranting about her grades and lack of effort at school. What did she expect? School was boring and a waste of time. Not even her minuscule amount of friends could make it interesting. So when this new kid walked up and asked if he could join her she hoped to make it slightly entertaining for herself by turning that smile upside down. “Yeah, just not next to me.”
Carolina staring off into space wondering why she was even here in the first place. Math class was always so boring.
“This sucks” She whispered under her breath trying to seem interested in what her teacher was teaching.
“Yeah, tell me about,” Clare off-handedly agreed. The girl next to her was clearly not paying attention and anyone who couldn’t see that was an idiot. “Anything would be more exciting than this. We should just leave.”

“I know the end of the school year is stressful and all, but to whoever stole my backpack and took my math book: I hope my doodles, pens, algebra 1 notes and my freshman english paper help you graduate.”
“How awful! Did you check lost and found? Maybe you accidentally left it somewhere and someone turned it for you.”

Fawn could tell Wendy wasn’t going to buy her story. She didn’t care so much if she got in trouble, but she wanted to make sure the animal was somewhere safe before that happened. “He is good. It is good, I mean. He–… he’s just a little creature I nursed back to health and now I’m setting him free.”
Wendy raised an eyebrow. “What is it, exactly? It better not be anything illegal.”

“I’m a big science enthusiast,” he nodded. He wasn’t smart enough to be a scientist, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be excited over all of the amazing things other scientists did. “People also used to think turtles were a myth! It’s been proven time and time again that we humans do not know everything, there’s still a lot more to learn, and that’s really kind of cool when you think about it.”
“Did people really think that? That’s so interesting!” Well, she certainly learned something new everyday. She wasn’t entirely sure that was correctly, but she wasn’t an expert on turtles. “It really is. Our curiosity is what makes us human. Are you majoring in a science field by chance? It sounds like you have the passion for it.”
Lazy Sunday in which I can’t seem to focus on anything
“I love this song! Doesn’t it just make you want to dance?” It was to be expected seeing that she wasn’t incredibly picky when it came to music, but that didn’t stop her from clapping in delight as the sound of it hit her ears. “Now that I think about it, though…” She trailed off, eyes lighting up as an idea struck her. “C’mon, let’s do it. It’ll be fun!”
“It certainly is catchy,” Wendy giggled. She was never one for parties and dancing, but watching her friends have a good time was enough. At Aurora’s suggestion, she felt her eyes go wide. “Oh, I don’t think that’s necessary.”
October is only fives months away. So, if you haven’t started planning your halloween costume you’re clearly behind.
B-but it just became May? There are so many other things to celebrate between now and October! How can a person be behind already?

Pressing her lips together, Fawn averted her attention back to the wagon. It was easy to see the creature moving beneath the blanket, getting impatient with his entrapment. If only she could explain this situation to him. “Um,” she started, turning back to face the other girl. She wasn’t blind to whatever feud Wendy and Tink had going on. But while she was loyal to her friends, that didn’t mean she could hate someone with no idea what they’d done. To her Wendy had been nothing but nice, and she liked to give people clean slates, unbiased to their reputation. As long as that reputation didn’t have a past of being cruel to animals. “It’s not anything bad,” she finally said, her voice practically pleading for her to trust that. “I swear.”
Wendy looked from her face to the moving blanket and back to Fawn’s face. Even if she was a good liar, whatever was under the cover wouldn’t get her out of this one. “Fawn,” Wendy warned, “something covered up isn’t anything good either.”

“He’s a kid genius,” Fred nodded, beaming with pride. The boy’s brain never ceased to amaze him. Just like his brother’s. He would probably be less busy than Honey and it would give him an excuse to check in. He couldn’t help but worry about the younger Hamada. Losing someone so close to him was a serious blow and even though he wasn’t that far away, it felt like there were oceans between them. It was his job to look out for him, make sure he found his happiness again. “No… not like this. I’ve sketched a few ideas, but everyone says they’re impossible. I just don’t like that word. I think that anything’s possible with science.”
Wendy felt warmth spread throughout her body. Fred clearly loved Hiro and she could see the same affection towards him as she felt towards her brothers. You don’t need to be related by blood to love someone like they are. And as Wendy was often designated “the mom friend”, she knew what it felt like to love someone even if they weren’t related, too. “I like that thought. Science has been able to do amazing things! Everyone said we could never go to moon, and yet there’s footprints that prove them wrong.”
“The cold spell coming across the city has been quite refreshing, don’t you think?”
“Maybe for you,” Wendy muttered. “I’ll be happy when everyone starts hibernating.”
Ever since getting the ring and learning all about the Lantern Corps, Kaiden was on edge. The green ring a weight on his hand but he’d never felt more alive. Flying, really flying, was the best thing ever. His limit was his imagination. What more could he ask for?
He bumped into someone on the street while he was busy daydreaming, “Sorry, looks like my heads in the clouds.”
“Yeah, no kidding!” Wendy snapped. “Watch where you’re walking and save the dreaming for when you’re asleep. It’d be more convenient for me.”
Dory’s antennae drooped a little bit. It was slightly exhausting being in such close proximity to so many people after living with just one for so long. Many of them stared at her with curious expressions, and often times she couldn’t tell if they were complimentary or malicious. So she tried to settle down in a quiet corner of the school, but after only a few minutes she grew restless of only hearing her own thoughts.
A plant stood in the corner. She reached out and grabbed a leaf to see what it was feeling. All she felt, though, was the vague tingle of its life force.
Wendy stared at the girl in the corner. She clearly looked overwhelmed and was trying to find solstice. It was a shame Wendy didn’t care. She walked over and took a seat nearby. “Don’t tell me you’re talking to that plant. It’s so pathetic.”
‘Cause darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream
Once upon a time Wendy Moira Angela Darling was a normal girl. She had loving parents, two adoring younger brothers, and her loyal dog Nana. School was easy and students would always look to her for help. Everything about her life was perfect. Until one night.
The Darlings were returning from a wonderful night out: dinner and a movie. It wasn’t often they went out, but when they did it was always special. They were sitting at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green when a drunk driver came out of nowhere, crashing into their car and instantly killing everyone. Everyone except for Wendy. She hadn’t walked away unscathed, however. She was put into a medically-induced coma to heal. During her time under, Wendy had strange dreams and visions. Her last dream involved a strange creature reaching out, touching her forehead, and disappearing. She woke up right after.
After discovering the fate of her family and being put through the foster system, she became bitter towards the world. Life wasn’t good and nice so why should she be? Since she woke up, Wendy has had the power of dream manipulation. If she is asleep, she can bring her dreams to life. If someone else is asleep, she can enter their dreams and take control of them.
