though every rat is special, it's a wonderful and unusual thing for their accomplishments to be remembered and cherished by so many people so many years later. we're all so fortunate to know about the rat who banged out the tunes!

AUGH this took so long. anyways pevensies + caspian if they like. got to stay in narnia post pc & wore more pretty outfits bcos i loved looking at their fits at the end of the movie & seeing the progression in fashion between the golden age & caspian's era

Right so anyway that scene in Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe where the ice breaks and Peter tells his sisters to hold onto him while he holds the sword- the sword he held up as a weapon moments before- and then he's the only one holding onto it as they go down the river and they're both holding onto him and he has one hand on the sword and one hand on Lucy, with Susan holding onto him. He is the only one who is safe- holding the sword- and the girls- not holding the sword- are holding onto him. The thing is Peter doesn't want to be holding the sword, he wants to be holding his sisters but in order to keep them afloat he has to hold the sword. When Lucy starts slipping he lets go of the sword to help her but has to turn away to grab the sword again because if he lets go of the sword for a moment they all slip away. He cannot protect his family unless he is holding onto the sword. So when they finally make it ashore, the horror when Lucy isn't with them, and that Peter let go of her- but what kind of choice was that because he is put in a situation where all he could do was hold the sword while still being the only thing his sisters had to keep them safe. To keep his family safe all he can do is hold a sword, but when they are swept away he will still think he didn't do enough-
