What inspired Camp Here and There?
Partly I was mad at other podcasts for not doing proper character work and appropriately utilizing the indie medium to go stupid crazy on unabashed gay soap. Nothing was what I really wanted to see. So it was partly out of a spiteful "well if no one else will, I'll do it myself."
It's just the type of story about codependency and autonomy that I really want to tell. The surrealist setting was done intentionally with narrative satisfaction planned, but also as an excuse to ham up the humor. Puzzle pieces just fell into place.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein heavily inspired CHNT. The secret is that the entire pitch of this show is "what if Dr. Frankenstein so so so SO badly wanted his monster carnally."
