DK4 recordings!
A few weeks ago we recorded eight traxxx and we are starting to get the finished mixes back from a nice man called Daniel who is doing the mixing and mastering.
We have uploaded two songs to our SoundCloud for you to enjoy.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
You can bookmark our SoundCloud page here, and meanwhile here is Broken Legs and Murder Mile.
We also have a show in Brighton this coming Saturday. It's upstairs at Fitzherberts with Nature Channel (our very nice friends) and some other fun bands. Come along if you can because it's going to be just lovely. Details here.

Venus Devine
Recently our Andy did an interview with some students making a documentary about shifiting identities - specifically gender identities. The other person featured is a drag performer, and when we get it to the full doc we'll send the link your way.
Our Andy has an interesting take on gender identity himself so they wanted to have a chat about it. Have a look at the video. We are dead proud of him and love him a lot (a lot LOT).
GENERATION WUSS
Tonight we are playing at GENERATION WUSS, and exhibition about pop culture featuring a bunch of local artists. One of the artists is our friend Little Sophie.
We found Little Sophie in the Grocer and Grain. She always listened to good music whilst working and she makes a very nice coffee. We didn't know where she was from at first, but soon found out she was Australian and were most pleased.
It's been a whirlwind romance that has involved lots of coffee, pugs and good times. We are very excited to be a part of such a dynamic event and a little unsure about the free egg situation, but our Pat is very excited to get some free Cherry Coke.
A while ago Pat was in Little Sophie's debut music video. It's a viral sensation and possible future Christmas Number One.
Check it out:
Hope to see you tonight for fun fun fun (times).
BYE!

Things that we've done lately
We've got updates! Here they are!
In the last few weeks we've done some fun gigs in Brighton and London. They were 99.9% amazing, only marred by one painful soundcheck. Some bands need to learn how to STFU and also HTFU (hurry). But every cloud has a silver lining because we did manage to make this pretty great gif from pics taken during the soundcheck of our discontent.
Ok, the next thing that happened after those ace gigs was we made some more VERY FUN badgers. They will be available at our next lot of gigs for 50p (ono), possibly along with some other bits and bobbers if we are especially productive. Here are some examples of the badgers that could be yours soon (every one is different tho so don't let your heart run away with you for god's sake):
Then what we did, and this is actually the most exciting part, is we wrote two new songs AND recorded the whole bloody lot!
We went to Transmissions Studios and recorded eight songs in six hours (that's loads, we are amazing), which are currently in the mixing/mastering stage. EXCITING. The songs will be in your ears within the next few weeks, probably on a tape or something nice like that.
Here are a few pics we took while we were practicing/recording/being amazing in the last couple of weeks:
And that is all the updates we have for now. We will post some songs online as soon as they are finished and ready. Meanwhile we think we might make a wee video for one of them. Why not eh?
We will be back soon with either an update, a rant of some kind or perhaps another gif seeing as we know how to make them now.
Forever yours,
DK4

KEEP YOUR ROSARIES OUT OF OUR OVARIES

Hello hello. Tomorrow we are playing a benefit show for Brighton Pro-Choice. They do really important work in our community so we wanted to tell you a bit about it.
BPC is a campaign group who support and empower women in their legal right to seek an abortion for an unwanted pregnancy. They also promote sex education in schools, sex-positivity and access to proper information about contraception.
The group was set up in response to the anti-choice protests which take place regularly outside the Dyke Road clinic in Brighton. Some of the DK4s live really close to this clinic so we have to walk by the protests all the time, and itâs a pretty nasty business.
Their tactics include intimidating and obstructing women who are trying to enter the clinic, displaying placards with pictures of aborted foetuses, and lying about the age of the foetuses depicted. We donât want to post a link to their website, but weâve seen it and can confirm that itâs shocking, unpleasant and very poorly informed. Â
We believe women have a right to choose what to do with their bodies. We donât believe anyone should be able to exert control over another personâs body, especially by using emotional manipulations and physical intimidation as the anti-choice protesters in Brighton do.
We also believe in the right of the clinic staff to do their important work without the interference of protesters. Â
The right to safely and legally terminate a pregnancy was hard-won, and countless womenâs lives have been saved since. Anti-abortion rhetoric is one of the most pervasive weapons used against women and we want to see the end of it. Â
So we are really chuffed to be able to support BPC by playing their benefit, and weâd love to see people coming along to the show. You can keep up with BPC on Facebook and Twitter too.
Hope to see you tomorrow night!
