i've been gone for a looong time but i'm back
this is like the tenth time Iāve reblogged this I love it so much
if you think that professor mcgonagall didnāt love james potter then let me just explain to you how wrong you are because among jamesā many talents he was really fan-fucking-tastic at two things: quidditch and transfiguration and those just happen to be mcgonagallās favorite things so guess what he may have been a little shit but he was her little shit and you know she loved every minute of detention she had to chaperone with him
So, apparently, 45% of TIME magazine readers think the word āfeministā needs to be banned in 2015.
The fact that the word is even ON the writerās list of āWords That Should Be Banned in 2015ā, alongside things such as ābasicā and āobviā, highlights what is fundamentally wrong with the worldās perception of feminism.

Current mood:
Weāre the generation of women who will teach their sons to act respectfully instead of teaching our daughters to beware
This is everything I stand for.
Do not let adults steal this generation from you. Relish in selfies. Snapchat pictures of coffee to your friends, huddle around an iphone to watch Vines. Shamelessly love this generations commodities, like how your parents loved THEIR commodities, like disco or Hammer Pants or whatever else. Do not let angry adults take away your chance to experience the uniqueness of right now.
I really love this post

That man you see there, he is a 92 year old veteran from Norway, who was tortured by the nazis during world war II.Ā The upper picture is the picture of the āBOY Londonā logo, thatās so popular now days. Then, on the picture under, is a known symbol that were used under by the nazis in World War II.Ā Now you can all think of what youāre really wearing.

I never understood why itās an F if he gets more than half out of 100? Unless itās more than 100. If you get more than half the answers right how is it an F?
You must not be from America. Here, grading is fucked up.
Average American Grading Scale: A+- 97-100 A - 94-96 A- - 90-93 B- 80-89 C- 70-79 D- 60-69 F- 59 and under
And in some places in America it goes by a 7 point scale, so itād be A - 100-93 B - 92-85 C - 84-78 D - 77-70 F - 69 and below
Now you understand why American kidās feel like thereās no point to school. If you have a 100 question text, and get 79 of them correct, thatās a C. That meanās your Average Intelligence on this particular subject. And it getās even worse when you have only like⦠a 10 question quiz. If you get two wrong? thatās a B. 80 fucking %. Now tell me again why American schoolās are easier?Ā
No wait but whats the grading system in other countries?
UK Grading Scale
100-70: A
69-60: B
59-50: C
49-40: D
Below 40: F
next time you try to tell americans that weāre stupid
iām gonna remind you
that our āaverageā is your āAā
#is that true? Yep I was shocked when I heard this in a different post but a Google search pulls up a ton of sites backing this up. Shit son I woulda passed College Algebra with an A in the UK. And I spent the end of the semester in perpetual fear that I would fail and have to retake the class.
And basically as an American youāre expected to get 80 or higher. Technically 70s are considered āaverageā but there is such a level of pressure to get a B or higher, that Cs have become equal to Ds. Basically anything under 60 you might as well gotten a 0, and anything between 60-80 is considered practically failing. So basically schools have to be designed to make sure majority of students are getting 80s or higher on specific topics, which means youāre spending all your time going over a few choice facts a billion times and there is very little room to teach anything else. Which explains why American schools are of such low quality. The insane demand on the students ends up wrecking their education. Not only do you not have time to teach them anything, but they end up hating learning. Even outside of school your life is dedicated to memorizing these few dumb facts because your homework ends up taking hours of your time. A teacher from one subject says they expect you to spend 2 hours every night on their homework. And if youāre studying 5 subjects and they all demand that 2 hours? Good fucking luck, because if you donāt have straight all 80s or higher youāre not getting into a good college and college degrees have somehow become the minimum requirement for getting jobs.
I spent most of my junior year of high school in a state of constant panic that I was going to get a C in Honors Physics much less fail the class. If I got a C on my report card, I was grounded until the next one. I lost count of the times Iād wake up at five in the morning to take the early bus to go in for zero hour before school actually started for the day
File this under the exact reason so many Americans detest going to school.
Can I just let this here that as a Canadian, in my highschool. (Not sure bout other schools.)Itās written on your paper ā92%ā or ā73%ā and I mean getting over a 70 is like āWOAH YOU GREAT BRUHā if you get a 60 and are sad about it most people are like āHey friend itās great at least you passed, Iāll pass you my notes if you likeā
Could I just add that as an American who used to go to the best school within the best school system within the (shitty) state of Georgia, we had a grading scale of like
A+: 97-100
A: 94-96
A-: 90-93
B: 80-89
C: 75-79
D: 70-74
F: 0-69
and I havenāt quite figured out my new schoolās grading system but itās something like, if not the same as, the even point grading system
heās so fuckign offended
