LADS Sapphic week day 1: Subculture

Ok so I totally got distracted by all the new banner news and just now remembered it's the first day of LADS sapohic week lmao😭

Okay so day one arttttt

I thought it would be funny to do this meme with it lmao, but yea my MC (Ivankov) is definitely alternative bc for sure, majority of their closet is just black and tints of certain colors (mainly purple bc that's another color they like).

And I find it hilarious and cute the juxtaposition to Xavier and the fact she wear quite literally all white or some bright color and considering it's pretty much canon Xavier and MC often share and swap clothes bc they start to rub off each other, it would be cool to see Xavier in more dark colors, wear their graphic tees, or borrow certain accessories she usually wouldn't wear like liberty spikes, studded belts, or certain eccentric jewelry bc Iva really doesn't mind and thinks it's cute when Xavier desides to dress like them, plus I feel like Xavier would like to experiment with different styles sometimes.

Xavier's always appreciated how creative Iva is with their style and how it influences how they act and think in general by their outlook on other aspects of their identity is also different, so kind of learning more about them makes her like them even more.

And I think in turn, Iva sometimes opts to wear Xavier's pjs bc they're comfy, smell like Xavier and thinks it's a nice change to their usual dark clothes (although they're always weary of getting em dirty lmao).

Also, small thing, I think DIY/craft days are snth they do together bc Iva likes making their own things, so they encourage Xavier to do the same and it becomes a nice bonding time for them bc they sometimes make matching stuff or stuff they think the other would like.

Alright I'm done yapping.

And I unfortunately had not time nor energy to draw for day 2 like I hoped, butttt I thought I'd jsut share scenarios for the second day and possibly others that I thought up so yay!

I feel like my nsfw art is kinda boring and lacks any real dynamic posing bc I default to drawing them both from the side / profile view. But like it doesn’t feel right if I can’t see both character’s faces in the scene. Does that make sense…

It doesn’t help that I love drawing faces in side profile (if that wasn’t obvious already)

Also not that I really need to explain it but a couple months ago I was reading a post where someone brought up the lack of diversity in SDV (I absolutely agree it’s very white in the valley). In the comments someone brought up the Diverse SD mod and even though I’m not able to mod currently I looked into it. I found out the Penny and Sam are both trans in it and I love that so yeah, that’s my Penny now. (I’m not good at explanations + my brain is fried).

Counting Sheep - (E) Sam/Sebastian

Summary: Sebastian counted the seconds between each breath Sam took beside him. He was sleeping deeply, and his breaths were measured and even, coming exactly every three seconds.

It was a familiar comfort for Sebastian, a habit he fell into from an early age when he lost the ability to sleep some nights. Counting a ticking clock, counting the raindrops pelting the side of the house, counting the footsteps in the early morning as his family got ready for the day while he was just ending his own.

Counting Sam's breaths was nothing new either, as he had fallen asleep on Sebastian's couch many a night before. However, it was the first time that they were sleeping beside each other in Sebastian's bed.

u know that post that's like "once you start noticing the absence of people of colour in things, you can't stop noticing, and people get really mad if you point it out no matter how calm and casual you are about it"

i guess logically on some level i knew that trans fem OCs in fandoms are pretty rare but the number of trans masc OCs i see in the tags of, like, 'stardew valley farmer' and 'my time at sandrock builder' and 'coral island farmer' just bc those are current fandoms on rotation for me... i mean, it's wonderful! it's wonderful that people are creating and sharing these OCs!!! but seeing the trans flag on, like, a character profile someone's made for their oc is 99.9% of the time gonna be showing me a trans masc / tme oc !! and obviously like... the ratio of cis to trans/non-binary/third gender OCs and self-inserts is an even bigger disparity im not here to, like, BLAME trans men or anyone making trans masc ocs it's just the thing of like... oh i noticed it once and now i cannot stop seeing it.

trans women, trans fems, im so sorry. i wish these spaces were more welcoming and respectful and kind and safe for you. i wish that for all areas of life and the world, but this is a little fandom blog and this is a woefully overdue kind of 'clicked into place' realisation within fandom/oc-creation space. i would love to hear about your self-inserts and your ocs !!!

anyone who has trans feminine ocs in these lil farming/building/village sim cozy games, i want to see them i want to know them, i want you to have a space to share them and your ideas and passion. real trans women, their safety and comfort and voices, have to have to HAVE TO come first, but they're not the only ones who can have trans woman ocs !! and creating a safer, more welcoming environment for them has to happen though the rest of us - as TME fans, players, creators, bloggers whatever we might be insulted or hassled for a CHARACTER we've created, but a trans woman with a trans woman farmer in stardew valley is going to draw attention with that OC and then, in the current online and fandom climate, violently harassed and reported until they're banned. we GOTTA be a buffer we gotta make these identities more common and normalised so when a trans woman does share her own it's not some great outlier with a massive neon sign in the tags saying "TRANS WOMAN SPOTTED" for the transmisogynists to instantly target !!!!!!!!
