“we return to each other in waves. this is how water loves.”
— nayyirah waheed, from nejma
something I’ve learnt as I’ve grown older which has bought me so much peace, is that not everyone will understand you and that’s okay. a lot of people lack the life experience, emotional intelligence and empathy to ever understand your life and the choices that you’ve made. you don’t need to prove anything to anyone. you know your truth and anyone who chooses to make baseless judgements or misunderstand you, isn’t worth arguing with to convince them otherwise. this goes for family, friends, or even just random people on the internet
Sometimes we need someone to simply be there. Not to fix anything, or to do anything in particular - but just to let us feel that we are cared for and supported.

start thinking of rejection as redirection - what is for you will not pass you
“Some of the Salaf said:
Were it not for the trials in this world, we would be arriving bankrupt on The Day of Judgement.”
-Ibn Al-Qayyim (رحمه الله)
Always be optimistic, hopeful, and positive that things are going to work out for you. No matter what’s happening, you can decide right now with a shift of your mindset and a change of attitude that blessings will enter your life. Never lose hope of the mercy of Allah. Never stop believing.
Giving ease to the Heart
*From The Means Of Ease And Delight For The Heart*
Shamsuddeen Muhammad Bin Abee Bakr Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah [D.751 A.H.] [رحمه الله] said:
❝From the means of ease and delight for the heart, is: continuous remembrance of Allaah in all circumstances, and in every place.
Dhikr has an amazing effect in giving ease to the heart, and pleasure to the heart.

*Be Like the Bee*
Imam Shams ad-Deen Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah al-Hanbali رحمه الله:
كن فى الدنيا كالنحلة إن أكلت أكلت طيبا وإن أطعمت أطعمت طيبا وإن سقطت على شيء لم تكسره ولم تخدشه
❝ Be in this dunya like a bee, when it eats, it eats what is pure (i.e. nectar); when it feeds, it feeds what is pure (i.e. honey). And when it lands on something, it does not break it nor cause ruin. ❞

The ten reasons which cause Mahabbah (love) of Allaah to develop.
Reciting the Qur‘aan, reflecting and understanding its meaning and its intent.
Drawing closer to Allaah – the Most High – through optional deeds, after fulfilling the obligatory duties.
Being continuous in the dhikr (remembrance) of Allaah, with the tongue, the heart and the limbs – under all circumstances. The more constant the dhikr, the more mahabbah develops and intensifies.
Giving precedence to what Allaah loves over personal loves, when being overcome by desires.
Contemplating and deliberating over the Names and Attributes of Allaah.
Recognising and remembering the favours and bounties of Allaah – both the manifest and hidden.
To be humble and submissive before Allaah – and this is the greatest matter.
To be in seclusion reciting the Qur‘aan, during that time in which Allaah descends to the lowest heaven (which is the last third of every night), finishing this recitation with seeking Allaah’s forgiveness and repenting to Him.
To sit in the gatherings of true and sincere lovers of Allaah, reaping the fruits of their speech, and not to speak except if there is benefit in it and that you know that such talk will increase you in goodness and that it will benefits others as well.
To stay clear of all those causes which distances the heart from Allaah the Mighty and Majestic.
So these are the ten reasons which cause the person to develop true love for Allaah and to reach the rank of al-muhabbah, by which he reaches his Beloved.
— Ibn al Qayyim| Madarij al Salikeen (3/17)
Movement of tongue in Salaah.
You must move your tonge and lips in salaah, it’s not enough to recite in your head!!!!
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: Is it obligatory to move the tongue when reciting Qur’aan in prayer or is it sufficient to say it in one’s heart?
He replied:
Recitation must be done with the tongue. If a person recites it in his heart when he is praying, that is not sufficient. The same applies to all other adhkaar; it is not sufficient to recite them in one’s heart, rather it is essential to move one’s tongue and lips, because they are words to be spoken, and that can only be achieved by moving the tongue and the lips.
Majmoo’ Fataawa Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, 13/156
