Oh, probably should’ve seen that question coming. Sigil thought quickly to come up with a response. “Oh uh, no real reason. I was just thinking about your story recently and it crossed my mind is all.” She says a bit too quickly, revealing that there likely had to be more to her question then she said. Sigil had never been that good of a liar, especially when it came to talking with her mother....but hopefully the unicorn might be forgiving and not press any further? Maybe? Probably not...but maybe?

it  could  be  a  trick  of  the  eye ,    astra  thinks  as  she  dives  once  more  beneath  the  waves  before  her  tail  pushed  her  back  up ,    sea  foam  bubbling  around  her  as  fins  hit  the  surface.     it  could  be  any  other  tower.     one  belonging  to  anyone ,    or  perhaps  one    abandoned.     one  that  will  make  her  yearn  to  climb  upon  the  sand  &  explore  it.     but  the  closer  astra  gets ,    the  more  the  similarities    stick  out ,    until  she  knows  for  certain  it’s  the  same  tower  she  remembers.     astra’s  heart    leaps    within  her  chest ,    grin  spreading  wide  across  her  face  as  she  stops  &  stares  up  at  it ,     just  a  few  yard  away  from  the  shoreline.

          she  finds  herself  so  caught  up  in  the  tower ,    it  takes  her  a  moment  to  note  the  mixture  of  growling  &  giggling  rising  above  the  splash  of  the  waves.     eyes  quickly  dart  toward  the  sound     ——     just  in  time  to  see  the  growling  wolf  before  a  girl ,    colours    glimmering    in  the  afternoon  sun ,    comes  bounding  toward  her.     astra  only  has time  for  a  startled    shriek    before  the  girl  reaches  her ,    arms  outstretched.     pushed  backward  by  the  force ,    astra’s  back  hits  the  water ,    but  her  arms  fling  around  her  friend ,     wrapping  tight  for  a  brief  instant.       ❛❛    sigil  !    ❜❜       she  exclaims ,    pink  lips  tugged  into  a    bright    grin ,    sun  reflecting  of  pink ,    glossy  lips.       ❛❛    long  time  no  see.     i  wasn’t  sure  i’d  be  able  to  find  you  again.     did  you  &  merlin  get  tired  of  the  forest  ?    ❜❜

Inanna’s ears perk curiously from her place still closer to the shoreline. Her growling calms for now. After all, if Sigil knew whoever that was it could only mean she could be trusted right? That’s what the wolf had slowly come to learn with all the odd faces that came and left the tower often. Many of which she ended up liking herself but some she still wasn’t too sure about.

Sigil pulled back from the hug a bit, though her arms remained around her friend still. “I hadn’t thought I’d see you again either! I’d hoped so of course but it had been so long I wasn’t ever sure.” The unicorn can’t help a small sqee of happiness as she gives the siren another hug before answering the question. “We actually left the forest a some time ago and have been traveling around ever since.” She says now fully moving away from the hug, least for now anyway.

“Oh! Speaking of!” Sigil then turns, wading through the deeper waters back over to where the wolf stood. “Astra, this is Inanna.” She introduces giving the wolf some scratches behind the ears as she did. “Inanna this is Astraelis, I meet her back when I still lived in my forest and she’s been my best and only friend since.” She explained getting a slightly confused whine in response until she added. “Well only friend from before I met everyone else of course.” Teal eyes turn back to the siren. “What about you Astra? What have you been up to ever since you had to leave?”

“Thank you!” Rapunzel couldn’t help but laugh before giving a shrug. What could she do? Yes, it was smeared quite a bit now but… “It’s really alright. I can just start over. Maybe I’ll make it better!”

“But we should clean your little friend up… And you, too.”

“I...do suppose that is one good side to it.” Sigil agrees after a moment her lips turning to a smile now. 

Glancing down she finally noticed the paint and a gentle sigh left her. “That would probably be a good idea huh? Oh, but I wouldn’t wish to bother you with it, the place I live isn’t that far and Chitters has caused you enough trouble already.” She adds quickly looking about a moment before stooping down a bit to pick up a sparkling orange ribbon that was also now covered in paint. It had originally been around the squirrel's neck in a nice little bow but it must’ve fallen off in the scurry.

Akuma hissed in pain as he peeled his face up from the floor, looking at the girl who had rushed over to help him up. He screwed his amber eyes shut as he wrapped an arm around the unicorn as he staggered to his feet. “W-where am I?” He asked through laboured breaths as his eyes darted around so he could get his bearings.

This tower was nothing like a prison so that must have been a good sign, and the girl who rushed to him, speaking of some healing? Could she be a waterbender? Doesn’t look like a waterbender, more like a spirit. Was he in the spirit world?  Eventually Akuma asked: “Who are you?”

Sigil wasn’t very strong, which was why she’d originally had help bringing this guy into the tower in the first place. But even still she did her best to help him up and to stay up as well. “You’re at Merlin’s Tower, and you’re perfectly safe here.” The unicorn assures, her pink lips pulling into a comforting smile. “Well...it’s safer then the forest I found you in anyway.” She adds with a gentle laugh. Not to say anything truly dangerous happened around here, but that didn’t mean the tower was without its own sorts of chaos from time to time.

“My name is Sigil, I live here and work as Merlin’s apprentice.” The unicorn answers before glancing up the stairs. Biting her lip in thought she turned back to the guy. “Think you’ll be able to make it back up to the guest room?”

I…have really been feeling wanting to try out Sigil’s dark verse soooo….hit the heart for a small starter from it! Multis feel free to specify if there be a muse you’d like the starter for else I’ll pick at random/leave it open!

Dark locks shimmer softly between dark violet, midnight blue, and a hint of crimson red as the unicorn brushes a few curls from off her shoulder. She hated having to travel into the filthy human towns, but sometimes they were the only places in which she could obtain certain items potential spells may require. At least she could bask in the awed looks of said humans as she past them, that was probably the only benefit. She gathered her supplies as quickly as possible but just as she was leaving one store she had to stop in her tracks to avoid running into someone. The nerve!

“Pay better attention to where you are going!” She snaps, hands resting upon her hips with a glare settled on her features. “Just like you humans though, so I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.” The unicorn adds with a sigh passing her dark lips.

It had been some time since Sigil had last seen the ocean, let alone be near it. But thankfully the tower had emerged upon a small cliff side where just a short walk away one could be at the ocean’s edge. With the only hesitation being making sure she had no lessons that day the unicorn soon raced off to the shoreline, Inanna padding along behind her. The two reached the water’s edge and Sigil took in a deep breath of the salty sea air. “It’s so nice to be back at the ocean again!” She notes as a laugh escapes her upon the sight of the wolf who’d plunged herself into the chilled waters.

Inanna let out an excited bark as she began to splash around, tail wagging furiously. She’d never been by the ocean before at all so this was a fun new experience. With another laugh Sigil soon picks up her skirt a bit and joins the wolf in splashing around. They continue like that for a time until Inanna stops suddenly, catching a new scent mixed with the salty air. She begins to growl and steps in front of Sigil protectively as gold eyes lock upon a strange figure in the water. Sigil’s own teal eyes look down at the wolf rather confused by her sudden change. “What’s the matter Inanna?” She asks kneeling down next to the wolf and placing a hand upon her fur. 

Inanna merely continues to growl as the figure gets closer. Looking up now the unicorn squints a bit at seeing the figure for herself now. “Wait...is that...” Her eyes widen at the realization. “It is!” She chirps standing quickly and rushing into the deeper waters in order to wrap her arms around the siren in a hug, nearly sending the two under the waves as she did so. “Astra! It is you! It’s been so long!”

༺♥༻ Headcanon: Merlin’s Tower AKA Sigil’s New Home

For many years Merlin lived within the walls of Camelot. But soon the time came where he trusted that Arthur would be able to handle things on his own, with the wizard stating he would come back the moment he is truly needed. Until then Merlin found himself a nice tower to call home, one with five stories to it, and thanks to an enchantment here and there is capable of changing, not only it’s location but it’s time as well. This is where Sigil now lives as well, at least while she is still learning under the great wizard of course.

The five stories within the tower are as follows:

Living/Kitchen/Downstairs Restroom: A nice area where company can enjoy sitting upon comfy couches (where not covered in books) in front of a homey fireplace when the weather calls. There is also a kitchen where meals are prepared, kept separate from any potion uses of course.

Bedrooms/Upstairs Bathroom: An area that expands as more company joins the tower. At the moment there are now three bedrooms and a bathroom as well. Occasionally a guestroom will be added when needed. 

Storage: Who knows what is within the various items littered about. Though, everything within does have some magical property of some sort to it...it’s just unclear as to what most are.

Library/Study: Books of all sorts containing spells, potions, myths, and legends fill the shelves of the room. And on one corner a cozy fireplace and some comfy chairs where one can sit to read these books. And off in the corner is Merlin’s desk.

Observatory/Magic Room: Where the night sky is studied and it is also the place where most of Sigil’s magic practice takes place. It is also the best place for potion crafting thanks to the roof being able to open just in case something should go wrong.

There is also a small garden within the grounds where various herbs for potion and spell ingredients are grown, mostly tended to by Sigil as Merlin has a tricky time keeping the plants alive of their own accord.

The assassin let out a groan as he sat up in a strange bed in a strange tower in an equally strange world. He looked down to see bandages wrapped around his abdomen and then it hit him. The last time he was around he was struck by an earth pillar when running from The Dai Li. Damn those bastards he thought before clutching his gut before asking. “Hello?” He called out, getting out of bed and walking around the room. 

His hands pressed against the cold stone of the tower walls as he wandered down the stairs grunting as the pain in his gut flared up with each step before he eventually fell over on the last few steps and fell onto his front.

Sigil had been carefully looking over the page where the potion she’d been instructed to brew was carefully written. Each ingredient was carefully placed down upon the table as she listed them off to herself only pausing at the realization one was missing. “Where did out box of fairy wings go?” Thinking over the last place she saw them the unicorn eventually made her way down from the observatory intending on checking the study when a thud caught her attention.

Rushing down she saw the inured person she’d found earlier laying now at the bottom of the steps. “Oh! You shouldn’t be up right now!” She notes moving over to his side and attempting to help him to his feet at least. “My healing magic hasn’t had enough time to properly finish yet.”

Ashe was making his way through the local markets, being sent on supply runs for the monastery wasn’t a big deal to him. Gave him an idea of what the world was like, and on the rare occasion Hear some information related to the mission for the month. Ashe was making his way towards the weapon vendor when he bumped into someone

“Oh, I am so sorry. You’re not hurt are you?”

“Let’s see...I got that...they were out of that so I’ll need to go to the other places...haven’t gotte-” Sigil’s thoughts and words were cut off at the sudden bump. It also caused her to lose her hold on the bags of various herbs she’d been carrying as well. Teal eyes finally look up from the list she’d been looking over and to the other person. “Oh, I’m fine and I’m sorry too, I probably should’ve been paying more attention to where I was going.” The unicorn assures as she kneels down a moment to collect the fallen items.

Sigil can actually hide her horn at will, though she can only do so in human form. And even then it doesn’t fully go away, as not only does a mark remain upon her brow but a tiny golden gem as well.

She has yet to meet any animal that hasn’t come to like her, and if she ever did she’d likely cry.

Unicorns tend to have great instincts about people, they can often tell when a person is to be trusted or not upon sight. Due to this, Sigil is easily able to make friends and it is rare when she finds someone she doesn’t like.

Though she makes friends easily, she’s never really grown attached to someone enough to like them as anything more then a best friend or even family....until recently anyway. Though, she’s yet to fully acknowledge it...or if she has she’s yet to admit it.

Despite the others word Sigil’s teal eyes turn to the now ruined painting. The squirrel in her arms was glancing about curiously, unaware that the paint covering his paws and fur was now getting all over the unicorn’s arms as well as her dress. But Sigil didn’t mind, she still felt bad about what happened. Poor Chitters had gotten a bit spooked by something and tripped all over the paint supplies before attempting to climb onto the canvas thus, smearing paint all over it. “It’s very pretty though...or rather...it was anyway...” She adds with a sheepish shrug as she looked back over to the brunette.
