His gaze didn’t falter one bit as she mocked his name. There was no malice or hatred in his stare, only an unwillingness to back down from her confrontational ways. Jellal was trying to figure this woman out, wondering just where Light’s strong feelings were coming from. He was fully capable of being warm towards another but his default state was cold and detached and her personality wasn’t helping to him show his better side. 

“Very well… Light.” His voiced lacked the mocking tone she had. Instead he opted to remain cool and collected as oppose to letting her get under his skin. Engaging in a childish battle of insults was something he would avoid, especially without knowing the full story behind her actions. “Have I done something to earn your spite?” His question was direct and to the point. Off the top of his head Jellal couldn’t think of anything he’d done to warrant the wrath of an individual, at least not at the university.

AT LEAST then to herself, she could decipher where her feelings had come from. The sudden aggression and where it had come from and knowledgeable need for her moodiness to take control before she could rationalize why she let her attitude had become like this.. An mode that set itself over by defaults means in the way escalate so fast and quickly like this. What would be a set and meaningless, yet harmless lie if she ever were to say that she wasn’t aware that she was doing. Of course. “Well, then. Gotta admit that I was expecting something else.” That’s all she left at that but maybe she felt as though she shouldn’t feel the need the need to explain, nor ever as it was to express herself. Anyone who knew her would know that was something that she was never good at it. Expressing herself. She’d shrug at his inquiry. “No. Didn’t think that there was any at all to begin with. Brute honesty.” Maybe she should have prepared herself for something more but that something wasn’t exactly what she cared to look into. Cold, curt and brief to the venomous chill. She only had a few words because she never spoke much.

Anything you’ve been wanting to do now that the holiday’s are about here?” Christmas was only just around the corner but she couldn’t help but being couldn’t help but being glad and thankful that they were family and this was one of those times where it counted the most, it was one of those lovelier, most heartfelt moments. It might’ve been nice if she offered be jovial and thoughtful about it.Now wasn’t the time all about herself, but she was more interested in what Serah wanted, what she wanted to do. Why not make this a time and moment for her to turn this into a sisterly moment? A time of joy and bonding. One filled with memory and laughter, the blessings and their and joys?

“Rooming situation? Usually you get a letter with room and who you have as a roomate and which dorm you live in, right?”

“Yeah. That. I haven’t been as quiet lucky with that. I guess it’s a lot to do with the fact I’m new. My room number’s 201. I don’t believe I have a roommate just yet.”

“Lightning? That’s quite the unusual name. Nice to meet you, too!”, Judy said and returned her small smile with a smile of her own.

Judy had just literally run into the older student while she had been running from one lecture over to her dorm rooms, for no particular reason than to let out some energy. She had been in her thoughts and not really paying attention where she was running to, when suddenly, she had bumped into Lightning on her way. “I’m sorry for nearly knocking you down. I’m usually not that careless, I promise”, she said and chuckled sheepishly, happy that Lightning didn’t really seem too mad about it.

”It’s a name I’ve given to myself. No parent name’s their child that.” The reason why she was saying this, she wasn’t sure why she had the need to tell her all of this, she did. “Pleasure here as well.”

Claire being the new student the way she was, and if she had known the reason for being ran into, or what busied her head, then she would’ve sort of been able to relate to the instances and causes of that entire route. She’s learned to be gentle, and to be kinder and understanding by now. She was only human and she was allowed to make mistakes and it’d all be fine.”It’s okay. M head’s been sort of difficult for me trying to manage where everything is. In sorts of aspects, I see where you’re coming from.” She couldn’t find it within herself to really be angry.

“It’s quite simple, actually!”

Of course he felt honored when a cute girl asked him about his major. It was one of those things he got pride on the most and was more than gladly to answer the question.

“Basically, we Engineering majors use a lot of Science and Math. We use these to come up with practical solutions to problems and figure how some stuff works.” He was getting too excited, perhaps. “Engineers evaluate, to put it in simple terms, products and systems, which depends on your career focus. Cool, isn’t it!?” 

Suddenly, he stopped right on his tracks if a bit ashamed. Jayce hoped she didn’t get bored while listening. He didn’t even knew her name  and would either scare her off with his rambling or charm her. He hoped for the latter.

”Here I was thinking it was maybe more than I could bite.” She finds it was the best way for her to learn about people is when she asked about their interests, or something that was remotely similar to it by the fraction. Usually, she wasn’t one to bring ease to someone’s nervous. Surprisingly, she did just that with him.

“Now that you explained it to me as thoroughly as you can, and boy could you ever, it seems really simple. I’m actually a bit worried that I could never figure something out like that by the first try.” There was a slow grin reaching to etch over in her face while the moment grew to show she was being attentive and both mindful. “You’re fine, don’t worry.” She could tell by the body language that maybe he was a little concerned by her attention, or at least something else. If he wanted, or need reassurance, he would give to him the best way she could offer it. But at least her smile was a slow moved one. “It actually interests me but I’m afraid our fields are too different.”

Jellal stared at her for a second, a puzzled look on his face as he observed her. Of all things he made sure to watch other people’s body language to see what their state of mind was but this woman was hard to read. Her words were a bit rough around the edges but he wasn’t scared away nor frightened in the least. His eyes scanned over her, noting the placement of her arms and posture as well as how she stood.

As for him, Jellal stood there tall and imposing with his hands held at his sides. The expression on his face changed more serious, scary to some. Generally it took a little time for him to open up to new people. He was slightly on guard but as he tilted his head slightly he opened his mouth to speak. “Then you can call me Jellal and I will call you by your name or whatever you prefer.” Even with the harsh gaze he had adopted, Jellal was willing to accommodate her wishes.

She hid everything. And when she did, she did it for a reason. No matter what her face looked like, her words could be oft venomous and disarming. Probably callous as ever too. One way or another, she was cold as steel, or just like ice. Just an extra bite to the malice hidden along within her veins and it lived deep within her bones, preparing her timbre. It seeped down within her veins as it gives her the charge.

However, she forbade her lips from smirking no matter how much she had wanted to. She refrains. The rosette wasn’t here to make good with someone who called her less than what the name she intended on giving them. So, he thought that he could scare her. And that was funny, too. “Fair enough ‘Jellal’. She shrugged with a nod of the fair roseate crown. There was a certain mock ‘neath her stoicism. “Call me Light.” Surprisingly, he didn’t retaliate on the instant as she expected he would.

“I didn’t mean to intrude. But overall, you’re very kind.” What she meant by this was that she herself had struggled with loneliness. Serah was much more and often outgoing than she was. It was such an honorable trait. But she supposed and guessed that was expected because her younger sister was sugary and sweeter and she was much more often than she herself was than she was. This woman’s kindness sort of reminded her of the younger Farron’s own. Kindness wasn’t a trait that she herself lacked, it was just given all due fact and reason that she had walls build up around her due to loss and being hurt numerous amount of times. It was the only way she knew how to protect herself. But now, it was all in Aerith’s hands. “I’m Lightning by the way. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Her words comes as a near order. But she wasn’t concerned with if whether or not it was she should watch her tone and attitude, or if whether or not it might’ve come off as offensive because she dismissed the thoughts for as soon as it had come to her. She had other things to worry about, but that was never going to be one of them. Whatever state in the case being, though she does not say, or act it, she was a tad bit concerned as for how first impressions might’ve come or, had gone.

“Yeah, it’s quiet the pleasure of meeting you, Judy. I’m Lightning.” For whatever the costs and reason, there was a secret within her smile. She’s met so few people and already she didn’t feel out of place as she usually does when it came to any sort of socialization and she herself was often stoic and cold, she seemed free and void of feeling, it’d surprise anyone that she actually the capability of doing so. But for her because she’s introverted and it was oft difficult for people who fell into that sort category as her. She hardly knows a single face and there was something changing within the atmosphere. And for once out of the few moments at a time, she felt hopeful. She hoped that in time, she’d warm up to at least a handful, if not all of the students.

I go by ‘Lightning.’ What’s more interesting to me is that you’re honestly intrigued.” Claire couldn’t help but smirk a little inwardly at the compliment given to her by the girl and it was a major confidence and ego booster for her. She would never be liable to say it, but she sort of thought of her as sort of precious. And even more so, she complimented her hair. It was nice for someone to not be rude, or get on her nervous by asking if the color was real. Her and her sister Serah had the same color. And even their mother before them had the same color. So far and as much as she knew, it was normal. Her and young sibling didn’t see it as any bit of as different.

“ I’m sorry, but what you’re majoring...I was never too keen on being highly knowledgeable about it. It wouldn’t hurt for my listen for once. I’m feeling generous enough to ask. Gotta start somewhere.” Lightning’s known for having a short attention spans and that was just one of those things about herself that she’d never liked. Though she’s liable to be known ask impatient, perhaps now was one of those days she was feeling surprisingly attentive. They say that patience was virture, and the rosette rarely had it.
