I’m trying to do the math here and this image in the after credits cutscene tells me that the Traveler is probably at least the size of Mimas, a moon of Saturn, which is 246 miles wide and the City is wider than the Traveler so the City could be up to 300 miles wide

I knew I wasn’t crazy. I couldn’t find this version of the song once I heard it in orbit. I knew Journey sounded so much like it but didn’t realize it was the same. 

God how I love this song. I just imagine every Guardian kind of singing in unison in different parts of the earth as they’re scattered about after the attack, kind of searching for each other without the light. Without their ghosts. 

Without their friends. 

It’s so somber and sets the mood of the campaign. I love it with all of me.

This blog did not and will not send requests for bitcoin donations.

There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.

The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”

The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.

The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.

DO NOT OPEN THE LINK.

Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.

Writing Body Language

How to Improve your writing

This is something that happens every day in your life. A shift of your eyebrow in skepticism, or the way your lip may twitch to a half smile cause you’re trying not to laugh. These behaviors are vital for writing in character, because not only do the allow you to visually see what is happening but it is also reaffirming whatever emotion your character is showing.

So why should you write it?

Much of human communication is non-verbal which means you need to also translate this non-verbal reaction in a post. It allows you to greatly enhance the emotions of another character and always another person to ‘visually’ see how they feel in a post. Most of all, this will add depth and volume to your post to make it feel more real. IT will make your character feel like a human instead of just another fictional person you look at from above.

Below you will find a list different type of emotions and what sort of body language can be exhibited to them.

Three ways to accent an action.

When writing about emotions, there are different ways to verbally write them out. Each one is unique in their own way, allowing you to show more about the emotion.

Emphasize the Emotion. But doing this, you are expressing both the emotion and the body language. We’ll use a simple example. It’s short and simple yet you can sense he is happy. John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall.

Complicate the Emotion. Sometimes, even when you are feeling one emotion, deep down rooted underneath the facade of it all, there is actually an underlining emotion they feel. This is something you have to truly express otherwise no one will know. John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. However, it was obvious by the way his nose crinkled that he was disgusted by the actions beforehand. Instead, John covered it up by appearing pleased today.

Contradict the Emotion. This is a little different than complicate. Contradicting means that you are claiming one thing when in fact its the other. In many ways, this has a variety of uses, from inner depth of the truth to what you see in person, or someone creating a wall. It could be considered a lie, but when is anything that easy? John felt so happy that he was humming a tune while walking down the hall. In truth, once he was in the classroom, his shoulders slumped and a pout crossed his lips when no one was around, showing just how displeased he was with the situation.

Remember that you do not always have to contradict or complicate anything. Sometimes all you need to do is emphasize and that will be just fine. You don’t always have to have an underlining complicated for an emotion to make it more enhanced.

Do be afraid to use the Thesaurus to also improve an emotion. Such things as “happy” is a nice emotional word, but think of how much more powerful it is when you heard some is “overjoyed” or “content.” She how these emotions matched up with a body language can give two different styles of happiness? Mix and match to find what works best for your character at the time.

One thing I find kinda sad is Shaxx’s Titan mark.

I know the community likes to joke around and call them butt towels, but in the lore they’re pretty important things. It’s there to indicate achievements, show rank, which order you belong to, that kinda stuff. Zavala of course dons the Vanguard mark, Saladin dons a bitchin cape and an Iron Banner mark.

Meanwhile, Shaxx’s is just orange. Just a simple mark. It doesn’t even have the Crucible logo.

To me it comes off like he’s incapable of being proud of anything he does, always pushing himself harder and never being satisfied with anything he does. He’s a workaholic.

I mean, just look at what he did during the Twilight Gap. A lot of Titans would wear that as a badge of honor, saving the City and all. Then going against orders to take the wall with 5 others when hope was lost.

I think the reason he’s not proud of anything he does is because he has lost so much.

There was the Gap. We know that story.

Then, there was the Crota incident, where Shaxx begged the Consensus to delay the attack until they understood the Hive swords better. The Consensus didn’t listen to him, and all Zavala had to say was that it’s for the Consensus to decide.

A thousand Guardians died to the swords of the Hive.

Not to mention all the other wars he’s been in.

And now, he runs the Crucible. Which brings even more loss. How many new Guardians that passed through the Tower a minute ago will be still alive in a year? A lot of those faces never return.

When the Cabal attacked, he focused on protecting civilians. There is an NPC in the farm who thanks him, saying that she would be dead if not for him.

But with the Cabal attack, and the amount of Guardians both veteran and newly risen dead, it meant that his Crucible failed.

So, now he’s back at it. Making the Crucible harsher every day, throwing more challenges at the Guardians. He’s never outright harsh with the Guardians, but begrudgingly encouraging. He believes in them, wants them to succeed. Never kicks you when you’re down, occasionally shouts at you to GET UP, FIGHT, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT.

He takes every death and every failure personally, that it was his fault, that he could have prevented it. But he channels that sorrow into strength and encouragement.

Shaxx won’t be proud of anything he does until people stop dying around him.

He built Frames to clear out future Crucible arenas first, so that Guardian lives won’t be senselessly wasted.

Shaxx wants everyone to come home alive.

Maybe because he himself lost so much. Maybe to make sure no one feels that same pain that he does. Maybe to just push away the Darkness. Maybe all those reasons.

And that’s why I think his mark is blank.

  this  is  a  place  where  we  continuously  tell  people  it’s  okay  to  feel  what  we’re  feeling  and  yet  the  second  someone  seems  to  post  one  thing  too  much  ,  there  are  people  hiding  behind  greyfaces  telling  you  not  to  expression  yourself …    how  about  no.

  there  are  people  behind  these  muses   &  screens.  vent  ,   brag ,  post  an  icon  you  thought  was  funny  or  attractive.  tell  us  about  that  kitten  video  you  thought  was  hilarious ,   tell  us  about  how  someone  hurt  you ,  tell  us  you  have a  headache  ????    talk  to  us.    i  want  to  know  how  your  day  is  going  /  went.

  don’t  shame  someone  for  opening  up  or  sharing  what  they’re  feeling.  that’s  a  new  level  of  low  that  i’m  tired  of  seeing  good  people  suffer  from.
