So… I have this little career goal. I’ve hit it a few times in the past. But this is the first time since The Plague began. I really like having three entries in @previewsworld. Today’s issue — July releases — has #ElviraInHorrorland #3, the #elvirameetsvincentprice trade paperback, and #savagetales #1, in which I’ve got two stories. When you go to pick up your copy of #thelastronin #5 — you gotta get it — remember to talk to your LCS owner, and point out the many fine Avallone products they should order. Once upon a time (1999), my father passed away. I dealt with his passing by making a web series adaptation of one of his last and most psychedelic novels, SINCE NOON YESTERDAY. We were hosted and supported by a cool VERY early steaming video site. Got great reviews. But... I was just a little too far ahead of the curve. Streaming was an exciting new oddity, not a billion dollar business. With no budget and relying entirely on the kindness of friends and colleagues, it never got past five short episodes. So... this was very sweet. Once upon a time, I wrote for a TV show called VR Troopers. A month or so ago, I saw that @gapplecomics was selling the old action figures. For the sake of nostalgia... I bought myself one. (“Caitlin”: my favorite character on the show.) When I went in to pick up my comics yesterday, they very kindly gifted me with the rest of the set. They will have a place of honor on the “characters I have written” bookshelf. Big thanks to birthday boy Ryan and the whole Golden Apple Gang! Three years ago today Kevin Eastman and I were having Thursday afternoon drinks at the Bayfront Hilton, SDCC, and he started to tell me about this dream project he had that maybe I could help him with. He had a working title he didn’t like much. I walked with him from the Hilton to a signing at the IDW booth. Just as we were walking in the back door of the Convention Center I tapped him on the shoulder and said,”. “The title is DRAWING BLOOD.” As I type this, we’re prepping the release of DRAWING BLOOD VOLUME ONE.
