Where are you from?? This weekend we celebrated hispanic heritage at our church @theremnantnj we had lots of fun, still I have been pondering on the question, where am I from truly? I was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1986, so I am from Quito right? But wait my mom's side of the family is from Manabi, Ecuador and they have largely influenced me in my 36 years of life, so much that I do not speak as a Quiteño, so I feel a part of me is from Manabi. Except for the fact that I only lived in Ecuadorian soil til 2002. And for the last 20 years I have been in New Jersey, so a large part of me says I am from New Jersey, especially after I recently swore allegiance to the US when I became a citizen. So Quiteño, Manabita, New Jerseyan right? But I married a beautiful dominican queen @lgonzalez712021 with a huge family and a lot of my close friends are dominicans, my three children are half dominican, I am love with the people, the food, the hype culture, so part of me has merged with Dominican blood. So Quiteño, Manabita, New Jerseyan and now Dominican. Well that is quite a mix. My wife and I decided to make t-shirts celebrating the three nations that have blessed us. Where are you from is now a much bigger question than it was when I was little, but I thank God for the places I have lived in, everything I have learned and the many people I get to call brother, sister or friend. Perhaps our children and the generations to come can embrace one another in love and break through the many walls dividing us. Where are you from? https://www.instagram.com/p/Cjn5JjjJWPY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Thoughts about turning 36. -Realized as I blew out the candle that for 6 years my wish was for @abelgp5569 to have a transplant, thank you Jesus for the miracle. Now my wish is for a healthy long life to raise Kris and Bruce well. -Realized my wife can give better advice than a book or a therapist. -Realized I will be sharing my cake moments with Kris and Bruce for the years to come lol. -Was in shock I was turning 36 since I was convinced I was 34 all year, yesterday found out I was in denial for a whole year. -Had back pain and went for the first time for a full body massage...should have paid more attention to the full body term.. -Realized I can no longer stay awake past 12am. -Realized it is harder and harder to get people together in one place, so the real present one can receive is the precious time a person can dedicate you. -Realized I have so much to accomplish still it can feel overwhelming, but strenght can be found in the footprints left in the hard road behind. I am very thankful for each person I have had the pleasure to encounter and meet. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Thanks for presents, thanks for prayers, thanks for treasured words. https://www.instagram.com/p/CjdJ-ygMTqZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to my lovely, sweetie, honey honey, cosita bella, best friend, partner in every little crazy thing life brings us, the one and only @lgonzalez712021. My love, life has gotten to the point where I wouldn't know what to do without you, I spent a month away from your embrace and it drove me nuts, made me realize the constant truth of how complete you make my life. You are strong like a fortress, but can be as soft as silk, growing with you is a privilege and watching you do life is a joy. The latest chapter of our lives called parenthood has just opened a new dimension to knowing you and seeing you being the amazing woman you are in full picture. I thank God for the day he sent you to earth and not amount of celebrating you would do justice to how blessed Kris, me and the world is to have you been you. I chose the picture because it depicts the best version of you, free, beautiful, confident, divine. Thank you for choosing me as your husband, thank you for choosing each day once again..I love you mi cielo https://www.instagram.com/p/Cd6LxaNJGyS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
2022 started really rough, all family got covid except Abel, then as soon as I tested negative for covid they called us about a kidney in Florida for Abel, we flew there, spent thousands in just a few days, only to find out Abel had cancer (renal cell carcinoma) in the old kidneys, transplant was cancelled & they did a nefractomy taking out both kidneys.. We went back to our NJ lives praying this cancer would not mean been disqualified from the waiting transplant list. Abel was walking, living and working without kidneys only depending on prayers & dialysis. Our faith, hopes, strength, & very essence was pushed to the limit. I invited my brother to attend a preaching I gave at @theremnantnj. I spoke on not getting tired of doing good no matter the situation, & once again I publicly declared I would see this year my brother transplanted. Time passed & we finally were contacted with news Abel was reinserted in the waiting list, the was no more cancer! We waited more days, & I started to think, "just how long will he wait for a transplant now?" Monday March 7th came, our Senior Pastor put all of us to write down our petitions to God on a piece of paper, that day I was exhausted, I hesitated on asking for the millionth time for my brother's kidney, but I decided to believe again, we prayed...week went by fast & Sunday March 13th we attended church & then went to a birthday party, a heavy snowstorm started & we decided to go home. I was super tired, we had had a long day & there was now a blizzard outside. It was then, Abel called me, once again, a kidney was available & we needed to be in Jacksonville Florida by 12pm March 14th. My lovely @lorigonzalez__ helped me pack as soon as possible while we looked for flights, no direct flights were available, it was then that supernatural strength & courage hit me & I told my brother get the car ready we are driving, we said our goodbyes & drove in record time to Jacksonville & Abel got his kidney! its been over two months, still can't believe how good God is. Just wanted to thank you all for your prayers and support, & those waiting for a miracle don't give up, believe again, God will come through! https://www.instagram.com/p/CdzdbtWMYBX/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Love you baby boy, thank you for every smile you give us, Happy ten months!!! #krisevangonzalez (at Hackensack, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdBspcEpxv6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
4th week: So we have been here four weeks now, one week left of appoinments. So thankful Abel has progressed well, we had a small issue with some fluid building up in the kidney area but it was addresed quickly by @mayoclinic. So immensely thankful for God and His amazing protection, favor and provision, so thankful for everyone who has supported us from day one, special thanks to my love @lgonzalez712021 and mamas Lina and @pastora_catalina for being amazing these weeks, taking care of #krisevangonzalez, my mom and our home, thanks to @naylamgaleano and @jonathangaleano08 for their love and helping us out this last week when I return to NJ and John stays for the last appoinments with Abel. Thanks to Juan Francisco and Paul for renovating Abel's room back in NJ and Juanfran actually paying us a quick visit all the way here; thanks to the staff at Mayo Clinic and the Gabriel House where we were able to quickly get the transplant, excellent medical care, follow up and were able to affordable stay while Abel got better. Thanks to our church family at @theremnantnj, our work family at TXX, and thanks to everyone who prayed, donated, called us, texted us, and watched over our family back home. Would you be so kind to help us pray for these: -no more fluid build up -no infection to take place -blood pressure to be normal without medication -safe travels back home -no more complications or additional stay -no more side effects GOD BLESS YOU! (at Mayo Clinic Transplant Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CcHKKN8sp1H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Never being apart so long from my queen @lgonzalez712021 and my principito Kris Evan, miss you guys so much 🥺🥺. Thank you for being awesome during this time, can not wait to hold you close again, Kris portate bien 😳😳😁😁 #krisevangonzalez https://www.instagram.com/p/CblnskwMXPy/?utm_medium=tumblr
2nd week: So everything is looking good thank God, they added a high blood pressure medicine and it has been stable for the last three days, we are now waiting for an appoinment with the transplant team, we found out that three of the medications Abel is taking actually raise the blood pressure so they are the reason behind that. Thanks for everyone checking on us, May God bless you always, have an amazing weekend https://www.instagram.com/p/Cbh2k9EuRkv/?utm_medium=tumblr
8th day: We went through our first round of appoinments, waiting for the afternoon one, his blood pressure has been hard to stabilize, he is drinking 3 medications just for that, also his medication called prograf was just increased again, this helps the new kidney to not be rejected by the body. As you can see in the picture there is the potential for a lot of side effects, praying he gets none of those. God bless you all 🙏 (at Mayo Clinic Transplant Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbYGXIopt5d/?utm_medium=tumblr
Sixth day: Abel had a rough night dealing with some insomnia and shortness of breath. Made him some breakfast and we went through the first round of his medications for the day. Help us pray for: -Shaking to not come back (it went away yay!) -Blood pressure to stabilize -Insomnia to go away -For him to be able to breath normal -For kidney to continue improving its function and no rejection. Thanks for all the prayers may the Lord abundantly bless you all (at Gabriel House of Care) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbSVeepOg8F/?utm_medium=tumblr
