Instagram Roundup - 18/06/15 - 19/08/15
Limerick City - Ireland
Collins Barracks, National Museum of Ireland - Decorative Arts and History. One of my favourite places to go wander about in Dublin. Collins Barracks located in Arbour Hill. Up until now I've never properly walked through the whole museum in one go and some parts I haven't been too in years.
Visit to the Royal Hibernian Academy Gallery in Ely Place (just off Stephen's Green ) and a wander round the Liberties and James Street (strong presence of Guinness) Works featured from the RHA Gallery "The Children of Lir" sculpture by Oisin Kelly "Wanting You" neon by Tracey Emin "At Sea" by Catherine Barron
The National Print Museum - Beggars Bush Barracks Actually never heard of this place until a few months ago when it popped up on my Instagram feed. Only a five minute walk from Grand Canal Dock station, the museum is well worth the visit. Located at the back of the Beggars Bush barracks it is full of old printing presses, printing tools and typography galore. There's also a temporary exhibition upstairs on women's magazines in the 1960s, which contained multiple quiz extracts, seeing if you were the ideal housewife which I found hilarious altogether. All in all the museum was a fantastic find but sadly I was too early for a guided tour (the first of which start at half past eleven) so I was left to look around the museum by myself which I didn't mind at all.
Spent the end of today walking around the quays of Dublin, (mainly to waste some time) I walked up from Heuston Station (on the more west end of the city) to O'Connell Street and onto Connolly Station to get my train. Absolutely love walking down the quays but I rarely photograph it cause I’m usually in a rush when I’m around there. The quays along the Liffey has to be one of my favourite parts of the city (after the Liberties of course 💁🏻)
Instagram Roundup 07/07/15 - 18/06/15 (In descending order ) • Image 1 Pictures from the second InstaMeet in Dublin : Walked along the Grand Canal and I spotted a few doors on Marlborough Street on my way back to Connolly Station. • Image 2 More of a random array of photos Pictures from Grafton Street, Dublin Castle, Talbot Street art and one from back in Longford. • Image 3 Some pictures when I was up for Dublin Pride and the Flea Market in Newmarket and of course another photo from Longford on Edenmore Hill, the place where my Mam grew up. • Image 4 Yet again Longford features as usual with a pic from a walk from the forest near my house, and the Dublin ones ( a very orange looking Westland Row, The Stags Head mosaic work and House of Names shop frontage on Nassau Street. ) • Image 5 Some photos from my trip to Aberdeen (and Edinburgh) St Marks Church to the right and the Aberdeen Art Gallery (which was closed, and won’t be open till 2017). And then Dublin on the bottom half with KC Peaches shop on Nassau Street and a pic from under the Loopline Bridge on the Custom House Quay.
