Father like son!

"Father like son," they said. Not in my case! I grew up in the Philippines without having my dad around. To those of you who don't know, I was born and raised in the Philippines. I moved to the U.S year 2004 because my dad wanted my whole family to be living the California dream. At first, I hated it here in America but through the years, I learned to love the life in California.

I thought that moving here in California with my dad will give us a great Father & Son relationship. Unfortunately, I thought wrong! My dad and I don't have the relationship that some of you guys have with your dad. I still have doubts that my dad doesn't really accept me for who I am. I am gay and proud. However, it seems like that my dad is against gay people and refuse to accept that I'm gay. I didn't tell him myself that I'm gay. He knew all along, just like how all my family knew that I was gay from the very beginning of my childhood. It is hard living with my dad and having this kind of relationship. It really kills me on the inside knowing that I can't come to him for any advices. I can't even have a straight communication with my dad, because he always has to say something that would ruin my day.

I really wonder how this relationship with my dad will last. Lets just hope that it's not forever!
