“Boredom?” Then a pathetic wiggle of her arms. “Excess energy mostly. Didn’t help.”

“Boredom?” Then a pathetic wiggle of her arms. “Excess energy mostly. Didn’t help.”
“yeah, i can tell.” davina laughed. “you have any other ideas?”

“Why did I think that jogging was a good idea? Stupid. Where the hell even am I?”
“what made you want to go jogging?”

“Have I ever told you that your are the best mom in this whole wide world?” No matter what the problem might be, she always felt lighthearted after speaking with her.
“you’ve said it once or twice, but hearing it again never hurts.” she replied teasingly, just relieved to see her daughter smiling again.
( . vampxnoelle )
Hermouth twitched, giving her mom a quick smile. “I know, I know. I’m sorry.” After shaking her head a few times as an attempt to get rid of all those ideas, Noelle let out a sigh. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’ve been overthinking things lately. Literally. I’m self aware of everything.”
she squeezed the other girls hand lightly. “don’t apologize. you’re allowed to worry about these kinds of things.”
( . vampxnoelle )
“The reason I’m asking is because, I love being a witch. It sounds silly I know, but it’s something that makes me feel human.” She explained, trying to be as clear as possible without other believing she was crazy. “Or half human— the point is, it makes me feel connected to something.” Maybe Davina wouldn’t understand, or maybe she would and Noe was just exaggerating. “Being a vampire… It’s nothing compared to being able to do magic and.. I don’t know what I’d do without it.” What if they somehow took it away from her?
davina smiled, giving her daughter a small nod to show she understood what noelle was saying. “honey, you will never have to be without your magic. just because the ancestors consider something wrong doesn’t mean it is. and you were born a hybrid, sweetheart. this is who you are. they can’t change that.”
( . vampxnoelle )
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are without a doubt the bravest woman I’d ever met.” Sometimes she could not even begin to fathom what she would have done being in her mother’s place. “Now that we’re talking about this, I meant to ask you something…” There was a pause. Noelle was trying to make her next words sound casual, like they were not a big deal. “How do the ancestors feel about those like me—hybrids? ” When she was still somewhat human, doing magic was as easy as breathing; after the accident, it wasn’t so different. But even then, every time magic was involved, Noelle felt more self conscious than she should.
“thank you, sweetheart. i appreciate that.” while she did sometimes wonder what her life would’ve been like if she was a normal girl, but a life without her children, her husband, and her in-laws (as insane as they were) just wasn’t something she wanted to picture. “what is it?” she asked, but her face dropped as noelle asked her question. “oh, honey... they don’t like them. they see people like you as unnatural. but they’re also deranged old crackpots with no common sense.”

As Noelle listened, it was like having a flashback of everything her mother was saying, but not only seeing it— being there, somehow. She already knew about the harvest, as least what she had heard and read in books. And for her, it just seemed as a pointless ritual. Yeah, they would be resurected, but that was no excuse to steal their power. No like that. The girl would be forever grateful with Marcel for putting an end to it. “I’m sure.” She replied without even having to think about it. Gently, the brunette placed one of her hands over her mother’s. “I’m not going to judge you. Never. I know that you had your reasons for doing what you did and it’s okay. Because in the end, all that led you here.”
“alright then. as long as you’re sure.” she took a deep breath and squeezed her daughters hand lightly before continuing. “your uncle klaus wanted me to help him, so he got the boy i had a crush on at the time involved. used him as leverage. after a little while, he died. he was compelled to poison me and himself. i was only saved because marcel had a witch put a protection spell on me. a little while later, the harvest caught up with me. new orleans would’ve been completely destroyed, so i was sacrificed for the harvest ritual. but none of us woke up like we were supposed to. the ritual was hijacked, and four ancestors took our places. eventually they were killed, and we woke up. but the ancestors weren’t happy with me, so they spent that time tormenting me. i was having trouble with my magic after i woke up, and it took me a long time to get a handle on it again. i actually resurrected your grandfather and kept him as a slave for a while. and that was around the time i met your dad and got involved with all the family drama that you know and love today.”

Kane was looking down at his phone when he bumped into someone. “Sorry.” He mumbled looking up. “Oh, mom, hey. I know what you’re going to say and you’re right. I shouldn’t text and walk.”
@davinarnikaelson
davina smiled at her son, shaking her head. “you shouldn’t, no. you could really hurt yourself, kane.”
( . fiercerebckah )
“Exactly. Cleaning up my children’s grubby mess is enough work as it is.” she laughed at her suggestion. “That sounds like a splendid idea. If it wasn’t for this border, I would surely take you up on that offer. Those bums would loose their damn minds after the first day of our absenses.”
“i totally agree, the kids are dirty enough without their fathers helping.” davina shrugged. “maybe we can just hide in a bar in the city for a weekend or something.” she joked, laughing. “oh, they’d go nuts without us.”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — “I’m sure it is, Davina.” She said, now following the woman down the street. “So I’m assuming you’ve lived here a while.”
davina nodded as she walked alongside the girl. “mhmm. a very long time. what brings you here?”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — “Well that sounds like fun…” she mused, glancing around at the activity surrounding them. “I’m Imany.”
“it’s nice, yeah.” the witch began walking down the street, gesturing for the other to follow. “pleasure, imany. i’m davina.”
( . vampxnoelle )
“Thank you for having that much faith in me.” It was all she needed in times like this, when she started to feel like losing the notion of who she really was as a person. “Oh, believe me, I’d love to hear all of it.” The hybrid plopped down on the couch, looking at Davina with a smile. “After all, I’m a Claire too.”
“i’m your mom, sweetie. it’s my job to see the best in you, and tell you about it.” davina replied with a smile. “oh boy, okay, here we go.” she sighed again, before collapsing on the couch next to noelle. “i guess that’s true. well, my dad left when i was just a baby, and i never knew him. my mom was incredibly devoted to our coven, but she still made time for me as often as possible. she also had me practicing my magic constantly, so i’d be as powerful as i could be. when i was sixteen, i was picked to be a harvest girl, and she was almost more excited than i was. when the ritual started, my friends and i could barely wait. we were supposed to be put to sleep and sent back by the ancestors, but they ended up cutting the girls throats. your uncle marcel saved me just in time, and kept me as a kind of weapon to use against the witches, because i could sense their magic. i got in a lot of fights with your uncle klaus at that point.” she hesitated, not sure she was willing to discuss her sacrifice with her daughter. “are you sure you want me to keep going?”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — “Well that’s adorable. Yeah, you’d think it would only be crazy during Mardi Gras or whatever, or that’s what I assumed.”
“i don’t think i’d call myself adorable, but thank you, sweetheart. you’d think, but we’re pretty packed all the time.”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — “Thanks…” The grin from the stranger made her uneasy but in order to get what she wanted, Imany gave her a small smile back. “So are you the town tour guide or something? Or are you just super friendly?”
“no problem. i’m just friendly. i know this city can be confusing sometimes.”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — She heard a voice behind her, turning around to reveal a cute little brunette before her. “Yeah I am,” She nodded curtly, “Please, I’ve been looking everywhere for something. I’ll even take a sketchy shack to get some. I didn’t think I needed to bring extra.”
“well, welcome, then.” davina gave the girl a small grin. “i know a few shops that aren’t sketchy shacks where you can get what you need, don’t worry.”
( . vampxnoelle )
“That’s exactly my point. I’m not unknown neither, everybody knows me but at the same time they don’t.” She loved her family, all of it, more than anything in this world. Although, the girl didn’t want to be just one more Mikaelson, constantly living under their shadow. “Anyway, what about you? I don’t know much of your history before the Mikaelsons.” Noelle commented, her eyes full of curiosity. “Could you tell me?”
“you’re still young, noelle. you’ll be known for so much outside your name, i promise you. and trust me, some of the things your father and i are known for aren’t things i want you being known for.” davina sighed slightly at her daughters question, running a hand through her hair. “if i’m being honest, it was incredibly dull up until about two years before i met your father. but if you really want to hear the story, i’ll tell you.”
( . kingimany )
🔮 — “I swear I’ve passed by this fucking bar three times already…” Imany mumbled to herself, standing on the corner with a huff. “You would think that a place like this would have millions of stops for fucking Benzoin and Cinquefoil.”
“i’m guessing you’re new in town? i can help you find a store where you can get those things.”
