Elliot had not been able to fall asleep until six in the morning. He sat up abruptly when he heard something that was not in his dreams “Huh I— what… I’m awake. Yup totally yep. Just closed my eyes a few minutes” What a lie. He didn’t know how long he had been asleep or where he was “What are you doing here? Is it already a new year?” That’s what he had dreamt about, New Year’s eve. Was that why he thought it was a new year now? Only the Elliot in his dreams knew the answer to that.
"Dude, I'm pretty sure you're drooling on my couch." Kane said as he stared at the other Mikaelson. "It's November. Someone had a rough night."

Kane was looking down at his phone when he bumped into someone. "Sorry." He mumbled looking up. "Oh, mom, hey. I know what you're going to say and you're right. I shouldn't text and walk."

FLASHBACK - When in Rome (sort of)

“Google is a genius invention, isn’t it?” She joked, looking over at him, and nudging his shoulder lightly. She could sense that he was nervous, and she didn’t want him to be. “You know, I think learning a new language would be fun.” She answered honestly. Addison was a lover of knowledge, so it seemed liked a perfect way to spend her time, and the fact that she would be learning it with Kane was a perk. “I’m starving.” She grinned, taking his arm as he led them to the kitchen, eager to see what he had prepared.
Kane led Addison to the table he had set for the two and happily pulled out a chair for her. There was a small vase of flowers and two lit candles in the center of the table. He had found plates with matching covers, the kind where you couldn't see the food underneath. He had gone all out and he was quite proud of himself. "So, I looked up some famous Rome food, got a little guidance from my uncle Klaus, and attempted to recreate them." Kane wasn't much of cook, mostly because he'd rather eat pizza and burgers everyday and up until now he didn't have anyone to cook for. "If it's awful we can order take out."

“Hey, it’s my birthday I think I deserve a drink. Why don’t you join me?”

"Thank you. It's kind of weird isn't it? Having birthdays, but not looking older."

Evelyn smiled, “I think I could swing a drink with you. Besides, I made cupcakes.”

He smiled up at her. "I told you you didn't have to get me anything." Kane said; although, he knew her well enough to that she still would.

“Happy Birthday Kane. Of course you deserve a drink. I can pay it for you” She smiled “Me join you? I don’t think that’s a good idea”
"Thank you, and I didn't say the drink had to be alcoholic. You can get your underage self a soda, and we can split some French fries or something."

Addison couldn’t help but to let out a small laugh at Kane’s attempt to speak Italian. “It wasn’t bad.” She answered honestly. “It was actually kind of cute.” She stated with a grin. “I truthfully don’t know that much Italian myself, though I’ve always wanted to learn.” Brown eyes gazed around at her surroundings as she admired all of the work he had put into transforming his apartment. No one had ever done such a special thing for her. “I love it.” She smiled widely, looking over at him. Despite her cold exterior, she truly was a hopeless romantic at heart, and such gestures meant a lot to the brunette.
"Well, if it weren't for Google I wouldn't have had any clue how to say that. Maybe we could learn?" He said with a nervous laugh. Did he really just offer to learn a foreign language with her? Kane shook his head slightly to himself. "I hope you're hungry. Table for two right this way." He said offering her his arm and leading them into the kitchen.
FLASHBACK - When in Rome (sort of)
Heels clicked against the hallway of the building as the brunette made her way to the apartment where Kane Mikaelson lived. With each step, the female argued with herself. She had spoken to Kane on a few different occasions. He was clearly an attractive guy, and they seemed to get along, but it had been a long time since she had been involved with anyone, and she wasn’t sure she was interested in anything serious just yet. What are you doing, Addison? She mumbled under her breath as she reached the door of the apartment. She was nervous. That was a first, Addison Castle nervous over a guy. She intimidated men as a personal hobby. After deciding that if she waited any longer, then she was subject to change her mind, she gave a light tap on the door.
Kane cleared his throat before opening the door. "Buonasera. sei bellissima... that was awful wasn't it? I don't even know if it was accurate. I used google to learn some Italian. Anyway, you look beautiful is what I was trying to say." He was rambling, what the hell was wrong with him? "Welcome to Rome, sort of." He said opening the door wider to allow her to enter the apartment.
