This is a piece of art I created for the next chapter of my fanfiction! The series is called "The Ones Within", and this piece is centered around the story in the second part of the series, "The One Within the True Hero," all posted on AO3 under the name freaklost5.
To go into more detail, the series is inspired by the amazing manga "The One Within the Villainess," which I absolutely love, but with a twist: the characters are from the incredible world of "Scum Villain's Self-Saving System" (SVSSS).
The story follows the story of The One Within the Villainess while adding several twists and diving into a more emotional exploration of the various characters.
I started this fanfiction because there is so little fanfiction for The One Within the Villainess, and I adore the story so much. Then inspiration struck, and I realized, "Oh my God, SVSSS would work so well with this!" And the rest is history. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Now, onto the art process!
I won't lie... I did use some tracing as a reference from the beautiful cover art of Volume 3 of The One Within the Villainess, mainly for the borders, flowers, and title section.
As for our beloved Luo Binghe, who is impersonating the character of Angel, I got really inspired by his face on one of the official SVSSS illustrations from the Russian edition of the novel. His face is just so beautiful in those illustrations, and they helped me a lot in visualizing how I wanted him to look.
Finally, we have the amazing Scum Villain himself, Shen Jiu, better known as Shen Qingqiu, who is playing the role of Remilia! Holy moly, did he take a long time to draw. I took some inspiration from the original Remilia's outfit, but I heavily altered it to better fit my vision. As for his face, I drew him based on how I personally imagine him to look. None of the existing SVSSS illustrations really captured the image I had in mind (they give me more Shen Yuan energy, but I wanted Shen Jiu to look sharper). It was incredibly difficult to create, but absolutely worth it in the end! \(^o^)/
