 there it was. disrespect was the expectation while talking  to this kind of inmate. truthfully the prison had little of them  for they were somewhat obediently fearful. and alas it was   the ideal situation for the system, it was inevitably more  interesting to deal with rebels—exclusively when they   were brought to subordination, of course. and honestly  this provoked azula’s firelord’s flame to grow. and how  twisted it could be, she obtained satisfaction from it.

    no, no no-- she couldn’t know, she CAN’T. as far as the     guards were concerned, he was just another REBEL. but     why the hell was she making sense?! why was she telling     the TRUTH? WHY DID SHE KNOW HIM?

    he rises from the cot, slowly, purposefully. it seems that his size     only expands and EXPANDS with each moment, displaying the      true difference between the two. however, tadao knew-- in this     case, size didn’t matter. he could be the size of the lion turtles     that his father told him stories about, and she would simply      DEMAND that it beg, or it would be brought to heel. tadao is no     wild dog-- he C A N N O T  B E  T A M E D. this cage would only     hold him for so long.. and when he got out, he would wreak HAVOC     on everyone and everything having to DO with the fire nation.. and     he would start with her.

headcanon: social.

    believe it or not, being on his own for more than sixteen years     and living in the woods is pretty garbage for one’s social skills.

    tadao has extreme difficulty with relating to people emotionally.      if someone is sad, or happy, or angry, he is able to tell, but he’s     completely lost when it comes to trying to relate to that emotion.      if someone needs consoling, the most he can do is maybe pat      them on the back, and even that, you have to be astoundingly     close with tadao for that to happen, which is a rarity to say the      least. the only person he would ever consider doing that for is     rin.      he’s also very selective with showing his emotions outside of     anger, and that’s only just for intimidation sake. an angry 6′7     earthbender is definitely a force to be reckoned with.  but with     sadness, happiness, anything like that-- if he can suppress that     emotion, he will.
