Was thinking about how, if there's mythology in the MCU, then there's mentions of Sigyn in it, even though she canonically does not exist within the said universe.
I have always hced that myths in the mcu are distorted versions of prophecies (like Ragnarok, it does exist within the MCU, but it's not really what the myths describe it to be). That seems to be the most reasonable explanation to me.
So, for example, Loki's "purpose" in the mcu is for the "chaos to follow him everywhere and for him to make people into the best versions of themselves" (not the direct quote, but kinda close). Therefore it makes sense for the humanity to make the "bringers" of Ragnarok (Hela, Fenris)(Please tell me I spelled his name correctly) his children in their myths.
L:WML actually does imply that myths are prophecies, but written down as people interpreted them to be. (Loki in this book has a whole crisis realizing that mortals wrote him as an "evil" diety even though he was merely a small child at the time)
The point I'm trying to make: what if MCU Sigyn is not a character, but more of an another misinterpreted prophecy? Her name means "friend of victory", if I remember correctly, and I can't stop tracing it back to Loki's purpose being "making people the best versions of themselves". Thor, as far as we know, has never lost a battle in his life, not until Loki died. Clint Barton, a person Loki seemed to like, as far as we can tell from A1, was also incredibly lucky and the avengers hasn't lost as long as he was on the team. The first time we ever see him defeated in a way, is in Eg, after Loki is dead. Bruce, after he befriends Loki, is the only person to be rescued from the battle with Thanos. Etc. So what if the idea of Sigyn in the MCU is more of "The ones who are friends of Loki are friends of victory"? Because Sigyn is also one of the few female characters in myths (now, correct me if I'm wrong, I read eddas like six years ago, and only a couple of versions of myths) that we know little about. There isn't even a description of how she looks like, as far as I remember, so I do think that in the MCU specifically her presence in the myths could make sense as less of a character, and more of an idea.
Also, not exactly related, but when a character tries to force Loki to be on their side, a character is hated by him, they lose even if it doesn't make sense:
Thanos was mentioned to be a serious threat, a victorious general, but before NYC. Then, suddenly, six mortals defeat his army. Then, a couple of years later, six random cosmic criminals ruin his plans. He only ever wins again after killing Loki. The same time Thor loses for the first time.
The Grandmaster was in a position of power for thousands of years. He had Loki captured for mere weeks before he was (possibly killed) discarded by angry mob.
Odin was undefeatable and untouchable until Loki started hating him - then, suddenly, he is losing against the dark elves, the ones who had been successfully defeated before.
Also, from IW and What If, as I mentioned before, it could be stated that the moment Loki really dies, a major crisis strikes the entire universe: the blip, the zombie apocalypse, etc.
Seriously, I've been rolling this thought around in my head like a pearl from the Mitski's song for a couple of days now, and to me it weirdly makes sense as a hc.
