I might as well post this now as I’ve had some people pop in and see where I’ve been
Unfortunately, due to what happened on here concerning Betty and I and the fact I’ve been more busy tampering with the larp/DND version of Betty as opposed to FNAF, I’ve lost all muse in that version of her and the fandom. It really disheartened me and kinda butchered my drive to stay here a few months back and I haven’t been able to get it back since, so I’ll consider this account abandoned. I’m sorry. I may be back at some point in a different fandom, but the chances are low. Thank you for the memories I had here. I hope everyone takes care.

Just as mentally unhinged as the rest of us. The words get a chuckle out of him. For once, he is grouped with others–albeit grouped with things that only resemble humanity–not thrown into being isolated. The offered cigar is declined with a snort. Cigars were never liked no matter if they were flavored or not. Too many memories linking to that old fool. “That’s the deceiving nature of humans, we can be so good at hiding who we really are that it surprises others once they know the truth.” That question has been asked so many times by those who know who he is beneath the façade, “Perhaps I have a few regrets around having children–” specifically a certain one that will not leave him do his work, “–but on the subject of having them, no.”

Looking him up and down in disbelief, the jester took a long drag before a short grin played upon painted lips,

Plushtrap nodded vigorously at the first question. He sure was! He needed the practice before he could take on the larger rodents in the kitchen. And the possums. Which, while they sometimes ate the rats and mice, were also not supposed to be inside.
His leg shook slightly when Betty scratched behind his ears. Ah, the good spot. Wait, hold on, she was still talking.
In order...Yes, yes, and...did he? Well, maybe not so much, but kind of. A little bit. Possibly. He nodded more since the answers were all roughly the same. But what had Betty been doing while Plushtrap was on the hunt?
‘WHAT ABOUT YOU?’
“ Heh ~ . Still got those shakes when you’re petted, huh ? That neva’ changed, I see. “
Smooching his cheek and bouncing him in her arms, the jester blanked out momentarily upon registering his question.
“ . . . Uhhhhhhhhh, good question ! I dunno ! Rechargin’ a lot ? My memory’s kinda hazy ! But then again, my memory is ALWAYS busted.

Puffing on her flavored cigar, the animatronic chuckled to herself, eyeing him up and down as if analyzing the man’s appearance before settling on his ghostly eyes,
“ Gettin’ prepared for the holiday ? Gonna stuff a kid inta’ an Easta’ bunny suit too ? Gotta make it snazzy for the holidays. Can’t be some normal animatronic this time, no, ‘s gotta be Easta’ related. Paint the eggs red and fill ‘em with teeth — that probably tickles yer’ fancy, yeh ? “
For a moment there is silence, silver eyes narrowed in a studying gaze. It is so rare for his sass to be returned, a deep chuckle rising into a full blown laugh, “One of the many joys of having a rotten corpse inside a metal suit… it just sort of… groans.” He raises a hand, gripping at the jaw of the animatronic head, a hint of the decayed skull inside. “You make it sound so typical… so cliché.” The experiments are not a necessity now since in a rather ironic fashion he succumbed to death inside the suit he took so many lives with, “No use using animatronics now…” his head lowers, gaze still on her, “Unless you want a corpse inside you as well… I hear it’s quite popular these days.” The Easter theme was not something he was drawn to, never doing anything for the day aside from humoring his children when it came to dyeing eggs and in their much younger days dressing in the Spring Bonnie costume, “Ironically, not all for the Easter stuff. Bit too religious for my liking.”
“ Oh, sounds joyous. The new trend is to have a rottin’ corpse shoved insida’ me while I play puppet ? Sounds great. Do I get to customize my personal corpse too like some early 2000’s girly Flash game ? Or is it just randomly selected and we’re playin’ the lottery ‘ere ? “
The fact he actually laughed at her jesting was a win in her book no matter who he was. Someone was finding her content funny. That was her purpose.

“Why… thank you, it took over 30 years to look this way…” A low groan seeps out of the amalgamation of animatronic and man, his head gently tilting to the side, “A look like this doesn’t come easy. It requires dedication …” The voice grows into a deeper tone, gravellier, ”and dying horrifically as your blood spills out with metal jabbing into every part of your body, and rotting in a sealed room for decades.” Even in death his humor stays dry and sarcastic. His tone lightens up again after he growls, “But yes, thank you for pointing it out.”

Absentmindedly placing her palm over her chest, Betty made an uncomfortable expression before shaking her head,
“ I was not. I was owned by the circus Precious Moments under my fatha’ , Oliva’ . Though I was unda’ Afton care for a very brief amount of time before bein’ given back to Precious Moments . . “

It took a bit for her to reply, slowly coming out of the haze of cool down,
“ I do, don’t I ? But I didn’t. ‘Cause I still hold onta’ those memories of years ago. Maybe you were fakin’ that kindness, but … I still believe you’re capable of actually bein’ a decent bein’ . ‘Specially now when you’re one half body in the grave ratha’ than foot. “
With her eyes still closed, she patted the spot next to her for him to join her on the floor.
William absolutely had been faking whatever kindness he’d displayed toward Betty those decades ago. But he could fake decency, too. He had no illusion of actually existing as a decent being, but if he already had to act like one out of necessity…maybe that would be close enough. “That is…true. I have a rather strong incentive to at the very least feign decency.”
William slowly lowered himself to the floor, but not as close as Betty had indicated. The knowledge that she had chosen not to be a threat wasn’t enough to override his self-preservation entirely. But the fact that he was sitting down at all, when he knew full well it would be a challenge to stand back up, was the closest thing to a sign of trust Betty was likely to get. “I appreciate…your willingness. To give me this chance.”
What.
He actually sat next to her ? He actually expressed a genuinely positive emotion rather than lying through his teeth or sticking to his moody default ? Jeez, she must still be in the charging pod.
Blinking twice, the clown then very slowly put her hand reassuringly on his arm, being mindful in being extra patient with him in case he’d jerk away or get spooked by another act of physical touch,
“ I have faith in you. Are you feelin’ better ? Still cold ? “

He stared at the corpse in front of him intensely like it would just disappear. His hands and mouth were wet and stained with blood. He was only vaguely internally panicking, but most of him was just shocked. Oops.

Using one of her magic trick handkerchiefs to wipe the blood away from his mouth, the jester ran a comforting hand through his messy fur, tugging the large beast closer,
“ You were just hungry. You couldn’t help it. “
